Damansara heights parking

There have been some older threads but they are either outdated or not directly relevant to me.

I'm going to start an internship in bangunan sppk, Jalan Dungun in August for a period of 3 weeks. I plan to carpool with a friend and I live in an area with scarce public transport so driving is my best option.

I'm aware of the parking difficulties in the area and I'm willing to pay up to RM10/day. I was hoping you guys could point me towards a parking lot near my building I could use.

Story of a Gibson that was almost stolen.

I know ads are not supposed to be posted here, but I'm posting this for the story and it would be rather inappropriate to cut out the man's ad. Anyway, hope the mods don't delete this. Enjoy!

1964 Gibson EB-0 Double Cutaway Bass Guitar Cherry, RARE, amazing history, PHOTOS INSIDE
£750 Gorebridge, Midlothian

Reply to this ad or Craig on 07791807131

This is a truly stunning bass guitar, Priced for a Quick sale, similar aged/condition ones are selling as high as £1200-£1300 online.
Need money to start a business, so unfortunately this piece of history is for sale.

The guitar is showing its age, 47 years of gigs ect has taken its toll on the paintwork, but it still plays like new, and is the best sounding base I've ever heard.

a bit of history on the guitar..
The guitar was bought brand new, on credit, by my granmother in 64 from Pete Seton's(the father of the guy who owns Drum Central in Edin) music shop on the bridges in Edinburgh, along with a twin stack Marshall Valve Amp(sadly thrown away before I was born by my Aunt when cleaning..)

My granmother was a very well respected band manager on the amatuer UK circuit in the 60's knowing a few of the big bands before they were famous.

My uncles band used to play support gigs for a band called The Few
Their band manager was buying a Piano from my Gran, so were at the house..
At this point the guitarist wanted to buy the EB-0 and my gran refused as she had dreams of my uncle's band making it big and knew how great this guitar is.
Soon after the band left, the family friend who tells this story often noticed the guitar was gone.. the police were phoned.
The bands van was stopped 2 miles from the house, and the guitar recovered, no charges brought as the band accused a roadie of stealing it, while he and my family accused the guitarist who was in a "right strop" at being denied to buy it...

This band later renamed and became rather famous.. The Few became The Who, and the guitarist in this story is Pete Townshend.. Now there is no proof that he took the guitar(or this would be selling for thousands not hundreds), but that is the story I'm told from a trusted family friend.

I'll be sorry to see it go, but the money is needed to fund a new business.

as with most guitars this age, its not perfect(its old.. its meant to look old in my opinion) the string guard is missing, 1 knob missing, the other a replacement gibson one from a different guitar and a non original screw in the finger rest..
more importantly
No cracks in the neck or base, these are really common on the EB series, the mahogany is very brittle on the early models (56-64) but this one has survived the test of time,
original Humbucker neck pick up, ebony fretboard and mother of pearl inlays so they are still as nice as day one.. no fading like traditional painted/wooden inlays.
if it was perfect the price would be double this.

Priced £750 ono
Can be viewed anytime,

Image 1
Image 2

more photos available on request.

Source: http://www.gumtree.com/p/for-sale/1964-gib...inside/91335610

Wanna get a Crafter SA guitar. But, distributors are in all countries (aus, sing, indo, thai) except Malaysia. Really aggravating because I've been guitar hunting for a long time (ask deadeye XD) and finally found one not available here.

Anyone have one? seen selling? Know where to get one? know how to import (not too much hassle and cost)? or any other brilliant ideas?

[addedon]March 28, 2010, 3:32 pm[/addedon]Anyone at all with ideas?

Horrible intonation

The intonation on my first E string is horrible. When open, its a perfect E, on the 12th fret, its a full semi-tone off.
Anyone know the common causes of this? the other 5 strings are fine. Could it be a dead string? the string is pretty grubby looking..

Note: not an electric guitar.

And thanks in advance again.

hybrid picking or finger picking?

I do mainly finger picking. Now i'm venturing into the world of hybrid picking, But i cant see any advantage it has over conventional finger picking.
Was hybrid picking started by people who were accustomed to using only a pick? I use mainly a fingers for strumming and picking.

So, what are the advantages of hybrid picking over finger picking?

Thanks in advance.

Classical guitar strap

You all should know that most classical guitars dont have a strap pin.

I am thinking buying a guitar strap that would not require me to put a "pin" on my guitar coz I definitely would not want to drill a hole on it because i find it very risky and might damage my guitar (entry level yamaha classical guitar).

Any recommendations on what possible good guitar strap to use? (without putting pins on it)

Hope to hear from you guys. thanks!
