Junior / Senior PHP Web Developer - Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

Roles/Responsibilities
• Assist Lead Developer in developing and supporting web applications
• Analyse and optimize coding & database queries to enhance loading and overall web performance
• Prepare professional technical documentation
• Work closely with the Lead Developer and team for smooth web projects execution

Requirements
• Candidate must possess at least a Diploma, Bachelor's Degree, Professional Degree, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for junior position or
• Minimum 5 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for senior position
• Able to work independently, mature, analytical, result oriental with positive attitude.

Best Water Drain Cutter (material) to use ?

Dear sifus,

The drain cutter above my roof is leaking water into the living ceiling, and thus leaking water.
I have approach an old guy to come to fix the cutter, and he recommended the cutter to be replaced with concrete kind. Underneath the concrete, there wil be a waterproof layer which following by another layer of concrete.

Earlier, I was informed by another forumer, that using PVC drain cutter can last long too.
But the uncle told me, under the hot sun, the PVC will not last long.

Honestly, I am kinda confused and would like to hear more opinions, please let me know if the old guy's idea is the best idea ? Any cons ? What about any other solutions ?

Stainless Cutter vs Waterproofing Concrete Cutter

Dear Sifus,

I am planning to replace my current drain cutter which is located between the wall and the roof.
I hope you can understand with the picture on the right. The | is the wall where the _ is the cutter. /\_|

The contractor is proposing instead of using stainless cutter, use waterproofing concrete cutter.
My question is there any disadvantage of using this method ?

When the waterproofing start to wear off, the water will still seep into the concrete one day.

Please let me know the pros and cons.

Harddisk dead and need data recovery

I got an external harddisk (1TB) which is now dead. Upon connecting it to the laptop, the harddisk cant be detected, not even in device manager.
Is there anyone that recommend a shop that can help to recover the contents of the disk ?

I need about 500 responses from individuals working in a IT organization for a survey I have prepared. This is a survey about the work-life balance (WLB) initiatives which are in place in your workplace.
And in turn the survey is for my MBA dissertation research (Nottingham Uni) on WLB initiatives.

My brother is doing a degree with Uni of Derby in Olympia College but the admin say he is not eligible.
The only ppl only eligible is those doing diploma.

I find this is weird as my friend doing MBA with Olympia (university of DErby) also can get.

DDR2 4 GB per piece

Just wondering, if i purchase two pieces of 4GB DDR2 and slot inside my laptop, how it works ?
Will it be like the dual channel ? or work as if its 8 GB memory ?

Kind of confused.

‘1Toilet’ plan to let teachers and students mingle freely

KUALA TERENGGANU: The state government will introduce a “1Toilet” policy in a move to liberalise education, where teachers – and even principals – will soon have to share toilets with their students.

State Education, Higher Learning, Human Resource, Science and Technology Committee chairman Ahmad Razif Abd Rahman said the policy was mooted in line with the 1Malaysia concept, and teachers and students could have a feeling of “oneness”.

“We want students to have a sense of belonging that we believe would inspire them to excel further in their education.

“When students share the toilets with the teacher, they (students) will believe that they are on par with academicians and this automatically invokes a sense of being important to an organisation, which, in this case, is the school,” he said here yesterday.

“We are not compelling the school authorities to apply the policy. It is their prerogative,” said Ahmad Razif.

“So far, we have one school in Hulu Terengganu that has implemented the policy a few days ago. It has received positive feedback from the school management although it is still premature for us to evaluate its efficiency,” he said.

Ahmad Razif said that under the policy, teachers and students would also be encouraged to sit within a common space at school canteens during recess.

“This means that teachers and students will mingle freely during recess,” he said.

Ahmad Razif said the policy had initially been proposed by Mentri Besar Datuk Ahmad Said earlier this year but that it took some time for it to be properly drafted.

On another matter, Ahmad Razif said the state government would continue to send students to pursue medicine and dentistry in recognised universities in Indonesia.

“We are looking into the option of sending our students to universities in areas classified as non-earthquake prone areas in Indonesia,” he said.

Ahmad Razif said the state government was also in the midst of discussions with officials from University Padjadjaran of Bandung on the possibility of sending Terengganu students for medical courses there.

He said other countries that the state government was planning to send their medical undergraduates next year were Poland and Russia.

I am thinking of 1house concept if it works. haha

I think this has been done since sometime ago when i was younger.
