Cancel Personal Loan

Hi guys, story like this

I applied for a personal loan and then the day after that, I got an SMS that my personal loan had been rejected. I informed my wife and then since that we need money urgently, she went and applied for herself. Now after a week, I got a message from a bank that my personal loan is approved and they will call me soon.

Question:
How could I cancel my wife's personal loan since that mine is already approved?
Will there be any fine for cancelling it?

Another info: My wife's has yet to be approved but most likely will go through and we dont want to have the extra personal loan

Bank: CIMB

Thanks guys

Knowledge Worker

I have a situation here in my office, i'm currently working in multinational bank where the headquarter is in one of the Scandinavian countries. Our main task here in KL is just to support other offices in terms of software development as we do not do any banking business here in KL. The office environment in other countries are a bit relax where people come to work around 8 in the morning and leave around 3,4 or 5PM. In Malaysia, we were trying to be a bit relax by following what other branches are doing but somehow the management think that we had abused it. Now the management started to implement strict policies like you need to be in the office before 10AM and you need work 40 hours a week and such. Among the arguments that we get from our teams are that "we are a knowledge worker, we do not need people to micro manage us", "The management doesn't trust us","As long as we deliver, we shouldnt care about clocking in and out of the office" and such.

Since that a lot of professionals here and do have views regarding "knowledge workers", probably we can share some inputs where you think the best way to handle this kind of situation.

KUALA LUMPUR: Fancy a Lamborghini to go with your super penthouse?

In what could be the first time in the property industry, lifestyle developer Eastern & Oriental Bhd (E&O) has come up with the option for purchasers of its super penthouses at St Mary Residences Kuala Lumpur to own a Lamborghini Gallardo at a special price.

The car costs about RM1.7mil.

E&O deputy managing director Eric Chan said this was made possible as a result of a co-branding partnership between the two companies.

Chan (right) and Chye with the Lamborghini Gallardo at St Mary Residences.

“This is a market first, and another way E&O is setting benchmarks for luxury living in the city,” Chan told a press conference.

Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur chief operating officer Marcus Chye said: “The best goes with the best.”

There are only 200 units of Lamborghini in the country. On the Gallardo special edition, Chye said only 20 units were made for Malaysia. Thirteen have been sold and three out of the remaining seven have been reserved for St Mary buyers.

More info below. Got picture somemore.
Multilanguage portal in PHP

Hi guys,
I need to develop a multilanguage portal in PHP and somehow PHP is not my forte. I can do this easily on ASP.NET but somehow in PHP im kinda stuck. How do you guys develop multilanguage pages in PHP? What I have in my mind is that to give page controls a key eg: news.title and then store it into table like

translation table
id(pk)
control_key
language_id (malay, english, french)(fk)
page_id (news, index, etc)(fk)
value

so, everytime when the page load, it will do a select statement

select * from translation where page_id = %d and language_id = %d where all keys will be downloaded and then match it to the controls in the presentation layer. What do you guys think? How would you do it?

Thanks

I'm planning to cycle in the community ride (24KM) as i havent been cycling for a very long time so competitive 48KM is out of scope. I'm currently residing on Cheras so I would love to know who are attending so that probably we can discuss about it.

Here is the linkOCBC Cycle Malaysia

cheers,
Opportunities in Australia (Sharepoint, C#)

I found this Job in Australia this morning in The Star. By the look of it, they might be going to sponsor the working visa thus making it easier to work in Australia although permanent residence holders are encouraged to apply. This might be a breakthrough for some who are interested in working in the down under.

p/s: I got nothing to do with this company nor i offer any kind of visa service to Australia. Just something that I think worth to share with everybody.

PDA UNIT Recommendation

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a cheap second hand PDA for researching / software development. The specs needed are

Able to output the image from the device screen to TV (TV OUT or AV OUT)
Running on Windows Mobile (So that I can program it by using .NET programming)
USB input (So that i can send data through USB)

Actually what im looking for is something like a laptop minus the size and power consumption. So, since the applications that im going to build is relatively small, then I dont need those powerful devices. Anybody can recommend me any cheap PDA so that i can go and look for it? I don't mind those cheap china phones as long as it fits the requirement above.

I've found MP5 players that comes with TV OUT which i got recently but somehow I cant program it using .NET so, I really need something that runs on Windows Mobile so that I can work with it and stream the output to another device.

Thanks guys,
Rads78
