Hi all,

With my budget for a laser printer, i'm down to 2 options:
a) HP LJP-1006 (rm380); and
b) Canon LBP-2900 (rm375).

At the moment my choice is HP printer because my office use it but its different model.

Thus, before i make up my mind, appreciate if anybody here have any advice or opinion regarding these 2 printers.

Thanks in advance for all the response.

Upgrade PC

Dont know if I can post this here but think i like to share my experience in upgrading my pc recently.

With little knowledge and small budget, i decided to upgrade my pc DIY. My old pc is using p4 intel. so i decided to switch to amd system. after asking around for advice and with budget around 1K, i decided to proceed.

original plan:
used back:
. old casing/psu/and hardisk

get new:
. proc x2 3800+ /mobo /ram 1Gb ddr2-667 /gc 7300gt

budget (rm):
. proc-rm250/ mobo-300/ ram-200/ gc-250= 1k

actual spent:
. 280+ 290+ 180+ 255= rm1005

So last Sunday i went to lowyat to get my new components. After bought all parts, i dismantle old pc to use the casing and psu back. Found out that my new mobo use 24pin power cable but old psu only got 20pin. So how?

After short thinking and and knowing i'm on leave tomorrow, i've decided to get new psu. (thought why not, the most is only rm200 for good psu). Anyway my new mobo is oc capable. one day i might wanna oc this new pc and may also need more powerful psu. Buy now or buy later not much different right? (btw, old psu is cap ayam jantan berkokok and more than 2 years old).

So next day, i went to get new branded psu. While thinking which psu to buy, something in my head told me, might as well i buy new casing so i can have 2 complete system. So i thought why not, just another rm100. i can always eat roti what, for the over spending. we man can cincai right? so i end up spent 270 for new psu and casing. Also forgot to tell, my old pc got 2 hardisk. so can use one for new pc. Both got windows.

So when everything is ready, i put all new psu, mobo, gc, ram in new casing and take one hardisk from old pc. Thought can start windows straight away. Guess what? blue screen comes out. Aiya... got to search a bit now to know what happened. Luckily got the old pc. Finally found out it drivers clash for windows from old system.

Somebody advice to uninstall all drivers and do some tweak in device management. I did that. Install hardisk to new pc again and restart to safemode to install new drivers. then restart again as advised. This time blue screen still appears with some warning. Aiya... so move the hd to old pc again. Tweak and tweak again. Not sure if i did miss something before. Try again. Same think happened. Did all this several times and 2 nites, before at the end decided to reformat the hd and start all fresh.

After all new installation (windows, drivers and applications). Ok already, but hang a lot when multi tasking and notice that there is no sound (btw, I use onboard audio). Check in control panel state no audio device or something like that. But no indication whatsoever in device mgt to say any driver missing or something. So i have to google and search in forum again to see what happen. Finally found out that i need to install windows update. Did that and walla... to date everything is running smoothly, and no hang so far. Now i can sleep well hopefully he..he..

So lesson learn if u need to upgrade your pc:

1.	always have 20% extra budget for the unforeseen circumstances
2.	seek advice from expert. Especially from the forum such as this one.
3.	it is good to have a backup pc (while upgrading especially useful when need to be online).
4.	make sure all your application cd is ok when you wanna reformat hd.
5.	be prepare for the pain especially mental torture. Guess old saying No pain no gain is true here.
6.	the gain is worth the pain
7.	probably its good to share experience like this for those like me out there.

Last, i would like to thanks all the expert out there who help me a lot in this small upgrade project.

Next project - OC. Another big learning curve.
