iPhone 5 Battery Issues

Hi everyone,

This thread is to discuss about iphone 5 battery issues as it seems to be a common issues and I been doing a few round of testing and wasnt very satisfied yet I am not 100% sure if my situation is acceptable.

So for the benefit of everyone, lets share our usage data and see whats the result like.

A reasonably good test will be

1. Install Battery Doctor https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/battery-doc...d446751279?mt=8
2. Charge to 100% COMPLETELY - check battery doctor and make sure it says completed
3. Use your phone like usual
4. Once it hit 2% / 1% , snap shot SETTINGS > GENERAL > USAGE - scroll all the way down - capture the USAGE / STANBY time.
5. Post it up and include a few description
- brightness settings + did you set auto ON / OFF
- Siri ON / OFF
- WIFI - always on ? or on when required?
- Bluetooth ON / OFF
- 3G ON / OFF
- iCloud Backup ON/OFF
- Location Services ON / OFF - if you can list apps that you allow location service will be good
- Notifications - if you can list apps you allow notification will be good
6. Usage pattern - describe a bit
- Light usage - use as phone most of the time, with light email and browsing
- Normal usage - phone, email, browsing and some videos/youtube
- Heavy usage - phone, email, browsing, videos, gaming, camera video shooting
7. if you charge full - and go to sleep - wake up - how many hours and how many % lost?
8. Any other observations? (maybe you find that if you always shutdown apps helps? etc..)

Tips you can try

1. install phone as new - do not restore phone - ios 6.0.1 is still signed by apple - please download the CDMA firmware - not GSM
2. Go to SETTINGS > GENERAL > RESET > RESET ALL SETTINGS
3. Drain battery till iphone off by itself
4. Charge until 100%
5. Then you test again to see how long it last

Attached here is one of my test till 34%
- WIFI - 90% of the time on but doesnt mean connected
- 3G - ON
- Location Services - ON - google map, kitcam, procamera, findmyiphone, system service (cell network search, compass collaboration , traffic)
- Notifications - Phone, Messages, Game center, gmail, im+ pro, informant pro, whatsapp, appfire, facebook
- SIRI - OFF
- Bluetooth - OFF
- Brightness settings - 45% - 50%
- Usage pattern - basic usage, some browsing, not heavy gaming/video. - consider very light.

OBSERVATIONS found so far
- install as a NEW PHONE increase my battery life by 20 - 30%. and the description above has already done that. if not i drain up battery with normal usage within 6 hours (inclusive on and off).. means less than half a day...

i m trying to get mac os x working on tz37.

but been having problem with the resolution. it cant display 1366x768. best i got is 1280x768

Need some help here... My friend need some help
with her postgrad thesis ..

You know its always hard to get people to do a
survey... So it would be great if you guys just give
a small helping hand if you happen to know
anyone directly or indirectly involve in the
