FSX weirdness

I ran it on my i7 965 rig with 2x 4890 perfectly fine all max no problems at all.

So i thought why not test it on my Q9550 system. Set everything to max. and it was stuttering at some parts. Virtual cockpit has no lag but the terrain surrounding it shows some stuttering.

Specs are

Q9550 @ 3.4 Ghz Proc
P5KPL/1600 Mobo
4 GB Ram (nothing special just your average basic ram)
ATI 4850 @ 700/1100
Installed on WD 1TB HDD Caviar Green.

I also tried 4850 Crossfired and the terrain was still stuttering. Which is why I removed one card and tried to run it on single GPU mode. Results were roughly the same.

Any help would be great.

Intel DX58SO motherboard + i7 965 ex.

so i just bought this set up today as i need a new main rig for my apartment since i'm lazy to carry my pc from home to apartment everytime i stay there. My hands itchy d. I saw an i7 920 doing 4.2 ghz on water cooling.

so this is my question.

anyone knows the safe limit for the i7 965 ex for overclocking on water cooling + air con room @ 16-20'C

So before we start, here are my specs.

Mobo = ASUS P5KPL/1600
ASUS P5KPL/1600 Motherboard

CPU= Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 E0
Core 2 Quad Q9550 E0 Core Stepping

GPU = ASUS ATI RADEON HD4850 Glaciator Fan (During the set up period i will only be using a single 4850 so i have more space to work with. My gaming set up includes 2 crossfired 4850 by Asus once the system runs stable)
ATI RADEON HD4850

PSU = 650 W Coolermaster eXtreme Power Plus
650 W Coolermaster eXtreme Power Plus

RAM = 2x 2GB 667 Kingston Rams
(No link for this one. abit the pointless =D)

Optical Drive = Rendered useless because of the SATA only slots on the mobo
(No link for this one too.)

HDD = IDE (yeah need sata too ) 2 x 1 which is 80GB and another which is 40GB both old school harddrives with no sata.
(No link needed for this one too)

Floppy = Removed. Sitting on my table.
(Nuff said.)

OS = Windows Vista Ultimate 32 SP1, Windows XP Pro 32 SP3, Windows XP Pro 32 SP2

Hardware Age and Remarks

All of these items are first hand and are aged less than a month (with an exception of the graphics card and PSU which is a month and a week old). Processor and Mobo are 3 days old.

The HDD and Floppy and Optical Drives are OLD. not even one sata possibility xD so other than these 3 the rest are all brand new parts which have not been tortured and the system have been running in an open case scenario (side panels removed, rear slots removed to allow ventilation, additional fans to assist in air flow, etc etc) so i dont think a heat damage possibility exists.

The HDD, Floppy and Optical Drives were used in my previous system which is about 3 years old. The Graphic Card was added into that system a month ago. The old motherboard went to hell along with the old CPU and now is replaced by the P5KPL/1600 and the Q9550.

The Problem

Sytems boots up as it should be with the rams in interleaved dual channel mode and what nots.
After the pre-checks are done and when it is time to load windows the system restarts.

OS #1 Vista Ultimate 32 SP1

Time since OS Installation : Less than a month.

Note: For troubleshooting purposes i am using an ILLEGAL copy of Vista with cracks and what nots. (I was using this copy to troubleshoot. Not as a permanent OS. Since my 2 LEGAL copies are XP Copies and using another OS would help in troubleshooting in many cases.

System states Windows/system32/winload.exe is either missing or corrupt.
Windows Diagnostic Tools found no errors during tests.

System refuses to boot and is stuck at the error screen until i press CTRL+ALT+DEL or turn power off.

System will not boot in safemode, safe mod networking, last known good config, normal boot, etc etc.

Sometimes when the OS begins to load, the blue screen (memory dump maybe. too fast to see what it is) appears and reboots.

OS #2&3 XP Pro SP2, SP3

Time since OS Installation: 1 Year for SP 3, 1 and a half years SP 2(different hard drives)

Note: These are 100% legal copies =D i dont support piracy ^^

The system will automatically reboot at the windows load screen.
(the one with the windows logo and the moving bar)

Will not start/boot in Safemode, Safemode CMD, Safemode Networking, Last Known Good Config, Normal Boot

Windows Diagnostic Tools found no errors during tests

No matter what I do XP will reboot when it starts to load every single time.

What I Tried

1. RAM Switching (From the yellow dual slots to the black dual slots)
2. Remove and Reinstall CPU and HSF (the fan)
3. Remove and Reinstalled Graphics Card
4. Switched from Digital Monitor Mode to Analog (dont know why i even did that)
5. Removed and Reinstalled Harddrives
6. Rewire the entire system to provide better airflow
7. Load Default Bios
8. Load my own Bios Config
9. Have brutal thoughts of taking a hammer and slamming it into my head
10. Wish i had a gun to shoot myself out of the frustration

Important Note

1. I've tried putting in the HDD with the OS into another system and the vista HDD still had problems loading.
2. The XP OS belonged to the other system and it doesnt load too after shoving the hdd into the problematic pc.
3. My DVD-RW drive cannot be installed because it is not a SATA Drive.
4. If u have a revolver that you can borrow me, please do. My brains are fried it needs to be blown out.

If anyone is willing to come over and help me set up my system and/ or troubleshoot please do pm me =D it will be much appreciated too . I'm at SS4 Kelana Jaya

E5300 or D820?

Okay here's the situation

I have access to a *not much used, only on for 2 hour max per week* E5300 for free.

and

I have a D 820 which have never been overclocked but have aged over the years and well the temperature sensors are cookoo as well (gona crazy)

Let's assume the D 820 is still working well which would u prefer?

Also my D820 is possibly bottle necking my 4850 coz i';m getting crap frames even at lowest settings.

help me out ya ^^
i can't upgrade my cpu to a core 2 quad this month had to spend on other stuffs =D
so this is gonna last me for another month and low fps gaming breaks my heart xD 15 fps whilst looking into my case and that little 4850 hanging there.

also will the e5300 be able to take a 4890 or 4850x2 (2gb)

Once again both processors are available to me for FREE =D

Need Mobo + Proc Suggestions

Anyone can suggest good mobos and procs that'd allow my 4850 (possible in the near future crossfiring 2 of em or 2 of 4890) to run at its best performance and goes well with windows vista 32 ultimate (am interested in going for x64 as well)

Mid-range ones that doesnt go psychotically destructive on my wallet xD.

also with preferably 2 x pci-e slot (4x if there's one that doesnt cost a bomb)

not looking for corei7 btw. too costly for a secondary rig.

Note : No other fan boosters/ driver boosters/ hotfixes and/or asus provided drivers and programmes are installed.

OS - Windows Vista Ultimate x32 SP 1 (no hotfixes or any extra add-ons)

Direct X - Latest DX 9 and Latest DX 10.1 confirmed through downloading at microsoft website. (Once again no tweaks)

.NET FRAMEWORKS - V 1.0,1.1,2.0,3.0,3.5 all versions installed.

And this is how my catalyst overdrive looks like throughout my entire gameplay
before, during and after. No changes at all and heat remains the same throughtout.

On my old 2600 HD Pro, i ran cod with the current settings of normal texture sets 1024x768 at 60hz no vsync , shadows, glow, your typical i dont really care bout graphics just wanna play the game settings. (Just so I can address the differences of FPS) and it was running at 125 average with a minimum of 90 (capped fps at 125) whereas the ASUS EAH4850 managed 20-40 average and sometimes 70 fps spikes and it goes down again.

Also I was able to run crysis with my 2600 on medium on XP

on beautiful settings in singleplayer mode i get 7-20 fps.. but sometimes it performs as if it's more than the fps shown. but it can get really laggy.
My 2600 back then with the same settings ran at 60 fps-70 fps.

Also was wondering if there's anyone experiencing the same problem with any 4800 series or the new 4670 and 4770 series on a cracked windows vista ultimate 32 as well as those running original copies (i might be missing some files or have corrupted files =D. no no i'm not using cracked version)

Could it be that i'm experiencing bottlenecking?
