Budget Laptop

rihui — Sat, 23 Jun 2012 22:26:17 +0800

Hi all,

since my Acer laptop died on me due to overheating issues, i'm looking for a budget replacement(not for gaming) :

Intel processor
any RAM
any HDD size (cos i have a new 500gb hdd from old laptop)
doesn't come with Windows if possible (cos i already have a license from university)

I'm particularly concerned about over heating issues, originally i was considering ASuS but i heard ASuS is prone to overheating (my sister's ASuS is damn hot).

So laptop gurus, I'm considering Lenovo cos they have some attractive options but i want to know if their build quality is generally okay?

Also, Dell/Toshiba laptops are they durable and has less heating issues?

Thanks!

at least 4 chars for search term!?

rihui — Wed, 29 Nov 2006 21:45:19 +0800

why is there a 4 chars at minimum for each search term? this is very inconvenient. for example i want to search for 'compressed air' but it tells me that i have a search term that is less than 4 chars. and if i discard the word 'air', the results returned are mainly irrelevant to what i want to find. i have to post a new topic to ask about this. isn't that 'search before you ask' is a good practice in all forums? but why is there such a limitation that makes searching so inconvenient?
