I had TIME setup my 20MB office broadband successfully. But i need my firewall to do the pppoe connection, similar to Unifi's bridge mode configuration at unifi.athena.my. Refer below:

1. From Huawei BTU, 1 port goes into the Cisco SRP 600W.
2. Inside the Cisco, there is a pppoe connection configured at WAN1. I noticed there is some VLAN inside.

Found Cisco guides online about setting the SRP into bridge (SRP Guide - ADSL Bridge Mode.pdf), but that guide requires the SRP to be in default factory mode, which does not accomodate for the Huawei box.

I need assistance in how to do the pppoe connection using my Juniper firewall. On creating the pppoe settings in Juniper, i got it covered.

Request on how to configure the Huawei & Cisco SRP600W so that Juniper can do the PPPOE.

Hi All,

I subscribed to unifi biz20 with 5 fixed ip. My problem is i cant get those fixed IP to forward to the required servers.

My Streamyx setup was from the Aztech blue modem (router mode) directly connect to Juniper and the rest was done with the Juniper box. The fixed ip was going to my mail server, web server, etc..

For this setting i had an interface on Juniper with the same IP segment as the aztech IP (the public IP) so that int on aztech can see int on juniper. The setting here was very straight forward.

Can anyone advise on how to have the same or close to above streamyx configuration?

Hi All, as per topic, anybody knows about Forest Burning around Bandar Botanic / Jalan Kebun?? i live in BB and recently at night especially around midnight there will be choking smoke spread around my area, and i believe it also effect people around as well..i suspect its the burning at jalan kebun area, where previously i saw open fires at the forest area..is it some developer clearing some land or people planting veggies?

the thing is they only burn at night so that people wont notice?? i cant stand it because the fume from that burning is seriously disturbing me and i think other people feels the same..

anybody knows where is the exact location and if possible post some pics..maybe can bring to authorities if it is illegal..i've had enuf of this..

Hi All,

I have just finished setting up my personal mail server, it is behind a Linksys RV042.

I have 1 public ip assigned by TM.

Now, currently i am using Google Apps, which i have everything setup including email and website.

My domain is registered with GoDaddy.

My requirement is i need to route the e-mails to my new private mail server. If not mistaken, this is MX record right? But there is multiple entries in the
existing MX record. Should i remove everything and add my public ip OR add public ip and make its priority the highest?

Second requirement is while having mail.mydomain.com re-routed to my private server, i will want my website to stay with Google. Is this possible and how to go about it.

Hi All,

I am currently using Squid proxy server, which has basic but useful functions.

using the acl, i can define what is the time a user can browse the internet, etc..

what i currently need now is a proxy that requires login and monitor the user url. i know squid can achieve this, as i found some documentation here.

the problem now is, when i configure users to have login, how do i configure squid's acl? and..

since squid does not have a predefined service, i.e. to block chatting, webmail, porn sites, social networking sites it seems like i have to manually add all those sites to the acl..

is there a better solution out there?

Description:

- Router A can ping Router B

Previously, ip routing is not enabled on both routers. But i used the command "ip default-gateway x.x.x.x" and this caused the packets to be transferred to default gateway..

Im planning to install an all in one machine with email-proxy server-file server.

My plan is to install CentOS 5.5..for email its gonna be iRedMail; which is quite good..looking at its functions and capabilities..

However im quite vague on proxy and file server..anyone with suggestions?

If im not mistaken CentOS comes with squid proxy server..but this is not-so-friendly..im looking for alternatives if there's any..

And any recommendations for file server?

Combined 2 SDSL Lines

Hi All,

Im planning to get 2 SDSL lines, to get a 3MB up/down.

here are my concerns:

- How to do it. Googled, found load balancing (anyone can elaborate more on this?) and also found this Dual WAN router : http://www.hawkingtech.com/products/produc...ID=43&ProdID=20

- How does it works. Can i fully utilize the 3MB up/down?

- How it is configured, since both SDSL comes with 5 fixed ip, meaning i will have 10 ip. If i want to use all 10, is it involve something like NAT in the load balancer?

- Assuming that it works, will communication between these two lines and my netscreen ssg140 requires a complicated configuration in order for them to talk to each other?

If you guys have anything more to add, feel free to do so.

And any guides, reading materials are also welcomed.

4GB Total Memory, Windows detect only 2.75G

Hi all,

I installed 2*2GB DDR2 on my amd system.

In bios, it detects all 4G, but in windows it only detect 2.75G..same on XP or vista..

i already updated the mobo bios to the latest..

I will post the specs tomorrow..
