Funding from overseas

Hi all,

I am going to work for a S. Korean trading company as their independent agent here in Kuala Lumpur. I will be receiving my agent fees in USD from the Korean office and remitted to my personal account in malaysia and I shall be self employed. My monthly fee is about usd 2.8k.

A friend of mine said that there would be a 26% taxation fees for all foreign funding into Malaysia. Is this true?

Anyways, just to prepare myself for the worst, what are the steps that I could or should do in order to keep my transactions as smooth as possible and pay the lowest amount taxes in addition to myself employment income tax?

Whose professional advice or services should I seek in order to do things proper?

Hi All,

My girlfriend's brother had his desktop struck by lightning recently. And now, nothing is working except that the computer is able to boot to its operating system (WinXP). Therefore, we are looking to replace some parts inside. I believe that the motherboard is not working anymore as the LAN adapter coulnd not connect to the network and it also shows 25 types of LAN connections. So, we are looking to replace the motherboard, chipset, the RAM sticks (they are pretty old now) and probably throw in a graphics card (the brother is a teenager and loves games). The goal is to spend not more than RM 1000.00 in total on computer hardware. AMD or Intel is not an issue for him and we are looking to use Windows 7 from then on.

Hope that I would be able to receive some feedback or opinions from the people who knows something about today's hardware trends.

Advice for Graphic Card Replacement

Hi All,

My graphics card at home has just gone bonkers. I would like to replace it with a new one, hopefully a cost efficient one. I am not a gamer but my younger brother is (playing Modern Warfare 2). We are hoping to get a value for money card which is tad better than what we have now (we don't hope to spend on anything more than RM 400). The model of the graphics cars we were using is Nvidia Geforce 8600 GT (Link here: GeForce 8600 GT Specifications).

We hope replace it with the same brand but we would like your advice on which model. We are also using this motherboard (Link here: Motherboard Specifications)

Air Filter Purchase

Dear forumers,

I'm looking for some of you forumers who owns a workshop or works in a workshop. I would like to visit and to change my stock air filter to a open-pod filter which are quality ones while reasonably priced. I'm living in Kajang, Selangor.
PS. I'm a first time car owner and I seriously don't know anything about cars at all. Hope you guys could help this poor bugger out.
