Memory Upgrade for iMac (Late 2009) model

I read that iMac late 2009 model can use 2GB or 4GB RAM SO-DIMMs of 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM. I already have two 2GB DDR3. Since I have two more slots available, can I add two 4GB DDR3? Does the memory recognise as 12GB in total?

Anyone know if the DDR3 SDRAM is still available in the market?

Mac Apps Won't Open - HELP!

As per the topic, anyone encounter similar problem? I can't seem to open most apps, like my Mail, Safari, and even Terminal.

It happen after my Mail and Safari crashed I had to force quit it. At the same time I was installing Command Line Tools (Got a window prompt to install this). Right after I installed it, i rebooted my imac. Havent been able to open most apps.

I restarted, shut down and did a Repair Disk Permission, nothing work. I can't even go to 'About This Mac'

Any idea how to fix this?

I am using OSX Yosimite

HDD Replacement - Help Needed!

My HDD on my iMac is having this SMART failing status. I am thinking of replacing it.

I have checked that iMac late 2009 model is using 500 GB 7200 rpm Serial ATA drive. I was told that only original HDD from Apple support this iMac and third party one doesn't. Is that true?

I was also told that this model cannot upgrade to the latest OSX.

I need some advice from the experts.

S.M.A.R.T. Hdd Error

I just realised that Disk Utility stated that my SMART Status is failing. Its preventing me from installing a new OS. I am using Snow Leopold ver. 10.6.8. I did a repair disk permissions and I got this particular msg "Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAgent" has been modified and will not be repaired."

I have googled it and apparently Apple says that msg can be safely ignore. See this Link

Until I fix the HDD failing SMART status, I wont be able to install a fresh copy of OS X even if I ignore the error msg. I have also tried installing the new OS X from bootable USB. (NOTE: Superdrive is not working anymore.)

Anyway to fix this SMART status??

Iphone 4 Location Services Help

I recently installed an app into my ip4. I disabled the location services when asked during the installation. I didnt know that some features requires the activation of location services. I then went into the location services menu to activate it. but I can't find the app in the location services menu.

any idea how to fix this? i tried reinstalling the app. but its did not work.
