Connecting PC to Onkyo AVR

I need some assistance with my home theater setup. Im using the Onkyo TX-NR609 and would like to connect my PC to it. I tried connecting the PC to the avr using a HDMI cable from the graphic card to the PC port and vcr/dvd port on the AVR but the avr does not detect any signal from either ports. However if I connect the hdmi directly to my tv, it works. My pc uses a nvidia gtx250 graphic card. Does the avr only work with a vga cable? Can anyone here help me?

My dell 22inch monitor flickers n shows pink screen at random times. Monitor is about 4 years old and most probably has exceeded the warranty period. Can any one recommend me a shop/center in subang/kl area which can fix monitors?

I Just replaced the main tv in the hall and now I would like to place the old tv in the kitchen. I would like to send the signal from the astro decoder in the hall to the spare tv in the kitchen.

Could anyone recommend an affordable device to stream the HD content wirelessly? I would still wan to be able to control the astro using the 2nd tv.

5.1 Home Theater Reccomendation

As the title states i need advises and recommendations to setup a 5.1 home theater system.
I'm a total newbie in this and this will be my first purchase of a home theater system.

I only use astro beyond and a media player (Western Digital with HDMI output) to watch movies.
With a budget of 5k - 8k (i hope this is sufficient), what would be the recommended brands and models should i look for mainly for watching movies?
I don't need a really powerful system as my tv hall is quite small.

Are there any audio shops which are in the vicinity of Subang Jaya that have products at reasonable pricing and allow me to listen and test setups?

Need help with Fixing altec lansing ATP3 Speakers

Hello there,

I would like to ask you experienced ppl out here for help to fix my ATP3 speakers. im currently having problems with my right speaker which controls the volume and etc. The sound comes off n on therefore i have to bend the wire with the orange socket at a certain angle to get the sound back. The wire just before the orange socket is broken.

Can you ppl advise me on which shops in around subang jaya vicinity that offer services like rewiring or changing the orange socket?

i recently installed a vs (zaptor evolve) into my satria neo but i haven done my grounding.
i haven't really notice much changes to my car's audio and engine performance in anyway.
but what i have notice is my speedometer lights now do not function properly
when the headlights r switch on, the speedometer lights randomly switches on and off.
any reasons for y this happens??

could it because of the vs??
because i've not done my grounding??

my battery should b working fine as its bought in jan 2010
and i installed the vs correctly (red to red and black to black)

anyone can show the grounding wire points for a satria neo?

could really need some advice here as im a newbie!

Line 6 Floor Pod Plus

I lost my power adapter for my line 6 Floor Pod Plus and thus i need a replacement now..

i just wanna ask can i just buy a power adapter which meets the minimum power requirement
of 9V AC 2000mA from a hardware shop instead of buying back the exact line6 adapter.

Reasons for this is because i do not want to travel so far (Bently in KL) just to get a replacement and also i
wanna save some cash.

Could using a different brand adapter cause my pedal to burn or spoil?
anyone looking to sell a 2nd hand unit i would be interested too!

As the title states. i would like to know some opinions from all u people out dere.
i cant decide on whether to spend another RM100 for the DEH-5250SD.

my car is a satria neo and i plan to put one 2 channel amp to power two components at the front
and one 2 channel amp to power the sub. i might just put a pair of rear speakers for fills. not planning to put a pre-amp
(don't ask me about brands for all the items in the setup as i haven decided)

my question is which HU is more suitable for my setup? i m on a budget step up so that RM100 is a lot for me.
can anyone out there underline the main differences between the two HUs.

Hey there...i just got my satria neo and now i im interested in changing the speakers. i need advise on what setup to use and brands to buy. im a newbie here so pls mind my noobness.

firstly, im goin to buy a 2nd hand subwoofer and 2 channel amp which is installed in my friend's car. my question here is.. if i wanna remove the subwoofer + amp+ wiring (from HU to amp to sub) by myself (wanna save cost on labour) is there any precaution and steps i must take?? i'm afraid i'll fry the car's wiring or worst.

2ndly i need advise on what brands of speakers to buy for my car with a budget of 1.5k (low i know but i'm still a 1st year uni student). i'm looking for medium bass system for R&b music and a bit of trance. from reading the forums, i have roughly decided to build this setup:

-component set for the fronts (not sure what size because i think satria's neo front speakers r 4inch, shud i cut the hole bigger?)
-a 2 channel amp
-Pre-amp
-HU (must have Aux capabilities)
-Sub + amp (friend's one)
-keep back stock speakers and connect directly to HU ( just to please the back passengers)

pls advise and comment on my current idea of a setup. offer me brand new or used speakers & amp too, i might just buy them if they meet my budget.
i live in shah alam, any good shops to recommend?
