New Academy in Perak area

Hi there guys, I am a parent and lately have collaborated with a friend of mine to create a very high end Academy for children that focuses on quality education, child care and other such services in a "One-Stop Centre" environment. The reason why I am opening this thread is that I would love for there to be some feedback on the viability of such a service. In all honesty, we are looking for some feedback from parents in a genuine manner in how to improve and also to promote a better and properly controlled learning space for our little ones.

This is because being a parent myself, I have looked for child care services and learning centers and to my disappointment am unable to find high quality ones with proper assurance especially in smaller towns (not in cities obviously). This is in direct relation to some of the troubling news sometimes of questionable carers and nannies who are supposedly good but have dubious methods when taking care of their young charges.

I am aware that this can be a direct lead to my Academy and seen as an advertisement but it is more than that. If so, the Mods can let me know and I will take it down. If there are enough people interested I can share details of my new Academy here for people to refer to in the Perak region specifically in Taiping Aeon. However, I would like to use this thread also to get feedback on what is generally looked for in child-centric institutions and centers such as ourselves. In a genuine effort to provide for the needs of the community and all parents. Thank you for the interest and looking forward to some feedback.

Perak Engineering Firm

Hello guys, so I've been running my own family business for almost 3 years now and the opportunities here seem to be mushrooming lately. In a nutshell, my company deals with supplying engineering services to factories involved in many sectors, chief among them tyre manufacturing, gloves as well as medical supplies. Our business is located in Simpang, Taiping, Perak.

In light of this, I am planning to expand the business and am willing to invest in human capital qualified to handle the many projects that could very well come our way. The jobs are lucrative, and I am even willing to groom the potential candidate to handle the projects in either a supervisory or hands-on manner.

However, the candidates must be willing to relocate here if possible. Do PM me for any other details. Also, if possible perhaps we can use this thread as a discussion platform for engineering matters and outsourcing. Thank you!

PS: Looking for project managers as well as lathing/machining/welders machine operators. For operators, experience in the field is an added advantage but not a requirement. Feel free to inquire further with Whatsapp or SMS 012-5509001 David Chiang.

TV 60"-65" LED or Plasma?

Need some help guys, I am relegating my old Panasonic 50" Plasma TV to the living room for Astro viewing only. I am planning to upgrade into a 60" and above TV for my master bedroom. One of the bosses here recommended Samsung Plasma at about 60" for only about RM3,200.00. I was wondering if this is a good deal considering there are many other available models in the market including LED.

Would appreciate it if some of the sifus here can give some suggestions on what to get with a budget of around 3 to 4k. Main usage will be hooking up to the PC for movies, games as well as PS4. Don't really fancy 3D since the technology isn't that great at the moment but if it's within budget won't mind it. Thanks in advance.

[JOB]THM/BLM Official Discussion Group

Surprisingly, this is one of the most widely used jobs for DPS and yet we don't even have a discussion thread for this particular caster. What gives? Anyhoo, since this is the first thread I would like to extend a warm welcome to all who have chose this discipline. It is a choice you have done well, for THM/BLM is the paramount of burst damage. No one else does it better than we do, and annihilation is our middle name!

Incidentally, I will copy and paste the skill set that will enable noobs to better handle the delicate art of obliterating our foes. I pasted this elsewhere and figured out that it might help the newer initiates to the realm of power. Have at it people!

This is what you wanna do when you see an enemy that you wanna target. Tip: when your skills are in RED while targeting an enemy, it means you are not in range. Move to an optimal range when it turns white and that will be as far away from a target as you can get while still being able to attack. The further away you are, the more damage you can incur before your enemy gets to you.

Skill wise, cast your spells in this order when facing an adversary:

1.) Thunder
2.) Fire => MP left 20%
3.) Transpose => Umbral Ice
4.) Ice => MP full
5.) Repeat 2.) till 4.)
6.) Keep an eye for Thunder and re-cast when necessary

There ya go. You'll find this hardly changes even for high levels. Thunder is actually overlooked but it grants free and instant recasts, also the Scathe ability later on is invaluable to chip away really fast without cast time. I find that I mostly replace steps 2.) till 4.) for Scathe during hectic fights. When my MP goes down below 20% I just use Swiftcast and Ice spells, instant regen of MP. Anyone else have tips for THM or BLM?

Class/Job Discussions

Okay so here goes. I know this may be general knowledge to some of the Legacy players but some of the noobs (myself included) would LOVE to discuss more about certain classes to pick depending on your style as well as the much debated but currently still incomplete requirements for certain jobs. Below are what I can make of the Job Requirements and levels needed for each class that you decide to play as. Ultimately, we'll all master each and every job but for those that have neither the time, patience or the necessity to do so consider this sort of a quick guide. Feel free to add more as we go along guys:-

What is a job?
By meeting certain prerequisites, Disciples of War or Disciples of Magic can change from their classes to more specialized jobs. Taking on a job gives characters access to exclusive skills and actions.
The list below summarizes the features and characteristics of jobs:

Jobs are an extension of classes.
Characters switch to a job from the corresponding base class.
Characters can don the gear of the base class as well as job-specific gear.
Jobs have exclusive actions.
Selecting a job will limit the type and number of actions from other classes that can be used. (Some class-specific actions cannot be used after switching to a job.)
Jobs do not have their own levels. When switched to a job, the character level is that of the base class.
EXP earned while playing as a job counts towards that of the base class.
By completing job quests, characters can expand their repertoire of job-specific skills and actions.

Acquiring Jobs

To acquire a job, a character must reach a certain level in the associated class, complete a job quest, and then receive a soul crystal key item. For a list of the job quests wherein soul crystals can be acquired, see the List of Jobs below. To take on a job quest, players must present themselves in the associated class.

Changing Jobs

Characters switch to a job from the associated class; for example, from gladiator to paladin. To switch, characters must possess the soul crystal for that job, such as the Soul of the Paladin. Upon switching to a job, the EXP bar will indicate that you are currently playing as that job. See the List of Jobs below to see the available jobs and the classes to which they are associated.

Follow these steps to switch to a job:

1. Select Gear from the main menu
2. Select the main hand gear slot
3. Select primary arms or primary tools for the associated class
4. Select the job slot above the main hand gear slot
5. Select the soul crystal

Follow these steps to switch back to the original class:

1. Select Gear from the main menu
2. Select the job slot next to the main hand gear slot
3. Select the equipped soul crystal and remove it from the slot

You cannot switch directly from one job to another.
To change from a job to a different class (not the original associated class), simply change the gear carried in your main hand as you normally would.

Job Actions

When playing as a job, you will have access to both the actions of the base class as well as those of the job in question. You will also be able equip certain actions belonging to other classes. Job-specific actions are acquired by completing job quests.

Besides actions belonging to the base class, jobs also have access to actions from certain other classes. Below is a list indicating which class-specific actions are available to each job.

Paladin Marauder and Conjurer
Bard Conjurer and Lancer
Monk Lancer and Gladiator
White Mage Thaumaturge
Warrior Gladiator and Pugilist
Black Mage Archer
Dragoon Marauder and Archer

Job Requirements (Will be updated as we go along)

Job: Paladin
Base Class: Gladiator
Requirements: Gladiator LVL30, Conjurer LVL15

Job: Monk
Base Class: Pugilist
Requirements: Pugilist LVL30, Lancer LVL15

Job: Warrior
Base Class: Marauder
Requirements: Marauder LVL30, Gladiator LVL15

Job: Dragoon
Base Class: Lancer
Requirements: Lancer LVL30, Marauder LVL15

Job: Bard
Base Class: Archer
Requirements: Archer LVL30, Pugilist LVL15

Job: White Mage
Base Class: Conjurer
Requirements: Conjurer LVL30, Arcanist LVL15

Job: Black Mage
Base Class: Thaumaturge
Requirements: Thaumaturge LVL30, Archer LVL15

Job: Scholar
Base Class: Arcanist
Requirements: Arcanist LVL30, Conjurer LVL15

Job: Summoner
Base Class: Arcanist
Requirements: Arcanist LVL30, Thaumaturge LVL15

The list above may differ according to further experiences, for example I can't really be sure about summoner as it's a relatively new job. I'll edit it as we go along and find out more. Happy hunting guys!

Singing opinion

Hey guys, yeah so am a bit paiseh but I really enjoy singing on a purely hobby perspective. Lately, I've been toying around with the idea of actually trying to sing for weddings/gigs etc. However, I know that my voice isn't as 'polished' as those with training. In that sense, I'd love to try and upload a (bad, iPhone memo) recording I've done to gauge the response from those more experienced than I am.

Perhaps you guys can give me tips on how to improve and/or criticize my @$$ off. Bear in mind that the recording sucks and I recorded it via my iPhone with the background music blaring from my computer, so the sound might sound very off. Oh and do lower the sound down, in case you pengsan.

The rendition is a lower-tone version of Bruno Mars' When I Was Your Man. I can sing the higher pitch one but not withoout some strain. Hence I decided to go with this one instead.

http://speedy.sh/UgfBV/When-I-Was-Your-Man.mp3

Here is the link since I can't seem to upload the mp3 for some reason.

Bliz, this is how to improve a flawed game....

Okay to I found this topic on another forum that suggested a 'neverending tower of levels ie. 100 to 200 levels of randomly generated dungeons'. I find this idea really fascinating. Does anyone here remember a nice little title called Disgaea?

Now THAT was a game which had excellent post-game content. You could happily farm and find the next uber-item or gear with hardly any balancing issues. Very tactical as well without any artificial difficulties.

Basically, this would appease a lot of people who have already beaten Inferno and the big D. May also be an option for those who are simply bored with farming and are looking for new content that doesn't suck (I'm looking at you Pony Level!) Discuss.

Level clears for free thread.......

Ok bros, so this is the situation. I've been farming like mad doing Butcher runs and got stuck on Belial in Inferno mode. So basically I have to get better gear to progress, and I can't do that without farming for gold. With the current repairs being so inflated, my squishy Wiz feels nerfed after I invested in IAS equips (way before they decided to do it, so not my fault )

Anyways, am currently burned out from all the farming and am a little bored. So I am offering to steamroll all other difficulties under Inferno as well as offer secret Pony Level Runs for anyone who is interested. Perhaps this can be a thread for those higher levels to help out the lower ones who have problems. My battletag is the one in my sig ie. Clouddave#6330.
Sifus! Recommend a gaming rig for 3.5k to 4.0k!k!

Okay sifus, I'm at the end of my rope so to speak. Here's my dilemma, been looking around for a decent sized gaming rig about mid range as my budget suggests. Been poisoned by the nice size and design of the X51, then realised it's very underpowered and overpriced. Transferred my attention to modifying the XPS8300 and managed to get almost the same specs as the X51 except for a frickin child sized tower!!!! Definitely a no go for me since I don't want something huge. Oh and by the way I am talking about the highest range X51 which has an online price of RM3,688.00. The XPS8300 is priced at RM3,400.00.

If I do order it from Dell, they will knock RM200 off for me. Not bad right? Well I recently started browsing here and found out that you can get MUCH better stuff for a MUCH cheaper price. Here's how I plan to use this PC:-

1.) As an entertainment unit: Have a 50" Panasonic plasma HDTV plugged into an AMP, plan to plug one of the HDMI cables from the PC to the TV for some Hi-Res gaming. Also to play downloaded blu-ray movies.
2.) As a competent multitasking machine: Plan to get a Dell 21.5" Touchscreen to install next to my (very small) bedside table so I can browse and do my surfing on the comfort of my own bed. Hence the touchscreen. Plug a (very long maybe 7 meter) HDMI cable from the entertainment unit where I will keep the PC to my bedside.

Doable right? The other factor is that I stay in Taiping so I plan to go to KL to get the components as long as it's from the same shop or not too far apart. Not keen on driving all around like a madman to save like 50 bucks. Any help guys? Will post some of my findings in the next post. Time for dinner.

Need help picking a Plasma 50"

Hi guys, let me keep this as simple as possible:

I have finally decided to go with plasma due to it having superior performances in almost everything as compared to a conventional LCD. Also, I am viewing from a dimly lit air-con room so reflections and heat aren't problems. Plus I've heard burn-ins have been reduced for the models nowadays so it's no longer an issue.

1.) Using it to play PS3 games as well as HD movie and series viewing, including blue-rays.
2.) Budget is from 4 to 5k, cannot stretch more.
3.) Prefer 50" as I am greedy. Viewing distance is about 6 to 7 feet. Overkill?
4.) Heard that Panny is the best. But open to other brands.

Please give me your recommendations guys. Thanks!!

Lenovo or Toshiba?

Ok. You guys may remember me from the Dell Studio 15 vs. Toshiba thread. Thing is I was going for the Toshiba when this new alternative came up. The Lenovo G450. Difference between models would be Toshiba has ATI 4570 and Lenovo has Nvidia G210. Which is better for games? Also Lenovo is cheaper by 550 bucks which I can use to upgrade its RAM too. Dilemma! Help! PS: what do you guys think of the promotion for Acer 4736G as compared to these two models above price and performance wise? Getting my laptop this weekend so thanks for the help!

Toshiba L510-S4314 or Dell Studio 15?

Hi guys, so here's my dilemma , my budget is from 2.5 k to 3k and I am looking for a laptop with medium entertainment mostly for surfing and watching movies and also the occasional game. Although I've got a ps3 to game on sometimes some games are much better on the pc and so I would like the option of playing games though not exclusively on my laptop. Well I've been scouting the Dell Studio 15 for a long time but I've found another alternative. (BenQ doesn't appeal to me for some reason or another, convince me otherwise?)

The problem is that the Studio 15 is much more bulky and doesn't have DDR3 RAM compared to the Toshiba. And I've heard a lot of good things about Toshiba laptops namely the performance and dependability and overall performance. What do you guys think of this new model? I saw it on the papers the other day and it has a promotion going for it for RM 2799. Only RM100 more than the Studio 15. But smaller, sleeker and with DDR3. The rest is about the same. Oh and not to mention the goodies and freebies I get for the Toshiba which is not there for the Dell. Only thing is I kinda think Dell has really good service and also a much better design, arggghhh. I am planning to get it early to mid December so some opinions would do me good to tide me over either side. Let the games begin!!!

Model Toshiba Satellite L510-S4314
Color Glossy Black
Operating System Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium

Display 14.1"
Processor Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6600

(2M Cache, 2.20 GHz, 800 MHz FSB)
Memory 2GB DDR3
Hard Disk Drive 320GB (SATA) HDD
Optical Drive DVD SuperMulti Double Layer Drive
Graphic ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570 (512MB)
Card Reader Yes
WebCam Built in Web Camera with SmartFaceTM Technology
WiFi Intel WiFi 5100AGN, 10/100Mbps Ethernet
Battery 6-Cell Battery
Bluetooth Yes
I/O Ports 2x USB Ports
HDMI Port
eSATA/USB Combo Port
Bridge Media Card Slot
Express Card Slot
VGA Port
Mic-in Jack
Line-out Jack
RJ-11
RJ-45
DC Power-In

*specifications may be change without notice.
Weight Start from 2.3 KG

DELL STUDIO 15

PROCESSOR	Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor T6600 (2.20GHz/ 800 FSB/ 2MB Cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM	Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit (English)
WARRANTY & SERVICE	1 Yr Ltd Hardware Warranty, InHome Service after Remote Diagnosis
HD DISPLAY	15.6 " 720p WLED (1366x768) Display with TrueLife™ w/Camera
MEMORY	3GB (1X1GB + 1X2GB) DDR2 SDRAM
HARD DRIVE	320GB SATA Hard Drive
OPTICAL DRIVE	Slot Load 8X DVD+/-RW Drive with DVD+R double layer write capability
AUDIO SOLUTION	Integrated Stereo Sound with Subwoofer
BATTERIES	6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
WIRELESS NETWORK CARD	Intel® WiFi Link 5100 (802.11a/g/n) Half Mini-card (MY)
KEYBOARD	Dell™ Keyboard with Touchpad (English)
VIDEO CARD	512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570
BLUETOOTH	Dell™ Wireless 370 Bluetooth Module (MY)
PALMREST OPTION	IMR Chain Link Palmrest
Base System	Base System
Item Included in the System	Integrated Fast Ethernet 10/100/1000
Item Included in the System	34mm ExpressCard Slot, (DOES NOT SUPPORT PC CARDS)
WEIGHT 2.51kg

So from the specs above, please give me some advice am going nuts here. Also to be honest I am leaning more towards the Toshiba since it is cash and carry whereas the Dell needs to wait 2 weeks for delivery.
