Some Classical perhaps

Classical music is an on and off thing for me, a journey. Effort is required to appreciate it to the fullest and I am lazy at this. The internet is the best source for information, comments and opinions on this subject. And so are books. They should help you select the best works on the pieces you wanted.

Recitals are very important, that is where it all started, and then their recordings or remastering.

And the CD you want, is somewhere out there.

Added on 24.11.2008......
"I put in a small effort to come up with the title of this thread, the intend was to outreach. There are those out there who may have similar interest and may benefit from this. And especially for those who are new to this music.

Some of you might associate classical music with a certain degree of seriousness. To me it is just music that you can simply relax and enjoy it.

And some of you may find classical music intimidating, need knowledge to appreciate it. Well that is absolutely nonsense. All it takes is for you to listen to it and if you like it, the rest will come naturally. I would not be bothered by the terms, what opus, what this minor or that major. You can simply identify by the order of the movement, the symphony number, then the performer/composer and orchestra etc.... and very soon you will get the hang of it."

Chamber Music Trios, featuring works from Brahms, Fruhling and Schumann, performed by Steven Isserlis, Michael Collins and Stephen Hough.

This SHM-CD thingy

There is this SHM-CD reissues available from HMV Japan. Would like to hear comments from those who owned them especially about the audio quality. Am I wrong to say that the difference is in the plastic coating, the data equalled.
