Slipped disc/sciatica

I started to have back pain a year and a half ago, and then found out through x-ray and MRI that I have a slipped disc.

Shortly after the scan, the pain subsided and only comes up if i slept in the wrong position or stress out my back.

However, recently the pain has returned whenever i stand after sitting. Plus the tingling feeling down my left leg (left nerve compressed due to slipped disc).

My question is, where should I go to treat this? I went through a few physio sessions that taught me the stretches and exercises to strengthen my lower back.

But what I'm looking for is a proper 'fix' to it or at least make the pain more bearable.

The options I have in mind are :

a) meet the specialist at a hospital/probably asked to do physio

b) see a chiropractor

c) see a tit tar specialist

Advice needed for network issues

Hi guys,

My current situation is that my Maxis 10mbps line frequently has problems (not sure if its the line itself or router) where the connections is really slow (won't even load a page), but it gets back to normal after rebooting the router. It also disconnects/reconnects every 20-30 mins. (not a problem, but is annoying at times). For the first year or so, there wasn't any issues like this however.

I'm planning to upgrade to the 50mbps plan and also upgrading the router to perhaps make the connection speed more reliable and consistent. Any potential advice on what I can do in my current situation and/or recommendation of any router upgrade? Also, perhaps a guide to show me what it takes to set it up?

At most, there is 6-8 devices in a 1000sqft double storey. So I don't need extra coverage, but is 6-8 too many for the default Maxis router?

I have read through several posts through searches, and am still confused which router would best suit my need. Thanks in advance!

Dual Monitor Setup Problrm

So recently I got a new 27" monitor and decided to use my previous 23" as a 2nd monitor. My GPU is a HD 6850 CrossFire.

Here's my problem,
My 27" can be connected using a Dual-link DVI on both ends.
But when i connect my 24" monitor using HDMI (on the GPU)-DVI (on the monitor), my computer can't detect the monitor.
Previously, I was using the 24" through VGA-VGA(DVI convertor to GPU) and it works. I tried this similiar setup but it would also not work.

Note: I tried putting both HDMI and the VGA-DVI convertor on the SAME card while the 27" is hooked up but nothing works.

Any sifus here know whats the reason? My next step to troubleshoot is to get another Dual-link DVI-DVI cable to test it out.

P.S. The 6850 has 2 DVI , 1 HDMI slots.

Some tips/advise needed to find a part-time job

First off, I really didn't want to post it here but I can't find any other thread which is more suitable to ask this.
So, I'm sorry if I posted this at the wrong place

A bit about myself, I'm 19 this year and waiting for my degree to start in late March.
Apart from my studies in IT, I'm really keen in photography since I was 16 and now I'm really eager to 'step up' to the next level.
Therefore, I planned to use this holidays to learn more from the professionals with hands-on practice.
But this is where I get lost at.

1) I can't find any vacancies in photo studios, or rather I don't know where to start (Tried the Job Enlistments sub). I get that jobs like interns/assistants are usually found in-house but I would really like to try to gain experience, even right from the bottom.
I don't mind getting paid little, as long I can cover my basic expenses like food/travel. My main objective is to learn from the people who are better than me.

2) If I can't be an 'assistant/intern' or work with any photo studios (I understand my lack of experience would be a huge problem). What else can I do to improve further consistently?
I want to really have a regular exposure to hands-on photography, not just self-projects, I would like to work with others. Or even a 3-month training program?

Thanks again for your advise!

Recently my rig has a problem of booting up. I'm 90% sure it's a hardware problem but before I troubleshoot which part of my rig is the problem, is there any software that is able to detect which component is faulty? Thanks.

GPU/CPU combination question

I am not really sure that I have made the right decision about my choice of CPU/GPU. I have got the 6850 in crossfire with the i7 2600K. Would be better in gaming if I had gone for the i5 2500K
With 6870 crossfire? Although it's too late to do Anything but what difference would there be on between those two builds?
I opened a thread earlier about getting a new rig, but I need a new thread to discuss this matter.

It appears SB is faster than the i7 950 in terms of core speed. But what about in overall performance? (Especially when i dont overclock?)
I need to know to go for the new SB processor or the i7 950.

(Freezes like the graphics of the game turned different colours)
3.Throughout a month ago till this morning - Had nvlddmkm.sys error everytime i started a game , problem got worse over time (sometimes frequent freezes in WC3 or even once while watching videos).
4.This afternoon - Computer booted with green dots at bios loading, then green vertical lines when loading Windows.Computer cant boot after loading windows, sometimes BSOD.

Computer specs:Q6600 2.6Ghz
4GB DDR2
8600 GTS
Windows Vista 32-bit
