Earth Hour Malaysia 2009

i propose (this is a suggestion only) Lowyat.Net to be offline during earth hour program (28 March 2009, 8.30 to 9.30pm) to show our support to the program..

also the admin can doing site maintenance at the same time, so, the users can see Lowyat.net is supporting the program, at the same time the admin also enjoy benefit to do some maintenance, etc. without dissapointed the users by closing the website at normal time..

i found that few bloggers and website owner also want to close their website/blog during earth hour.

even the nuffnang website also will be not accessible during that time, read this http://www.nuffnang.com.my/blog/2009/03/22...orts-earth-hour

and if you still remember, during earth hour last year.. Google website suddently turn into dark (black background) to show support on earth hour.. read this http://www.google.com/intl/en/earthhour/

so, the point is here.. its not about how can close the website can save how much energy thus stop global warming, but its more to show support. google itself known that by changing the background to the black doesnt save any energy because the monitor still need the same ammount of energy wether to display white color of black color.. but google do this as part of the awareness campaign itself, to give and show their support..

so when people see it, owh everybody is supporting it and doing something.. why not i? and that is the starting point. and i myself also close my blog during earth hour.

note: sorry my bad english, and also this is just a suggestion from one of the earth hour supporter
