PONTIAN - Seorang sukarelawan sebuah parti politik terbunuh apabila terjatuh dari sebatang pokok ketika cuba membetulkan bendera yang dipasang di Jalan Sawah, Pekan Nanas, di sini semalam.

Mangsa, Abd. Jalil Buyamin, 58, ditemui meninggal dunia dalam longkang simen berhampiran rumah ibunya dalam keadaan kepalanya berdarah setelah terjatuh dari pokok rambutan.

Mayat beliau ditemui oleh beberapa pelajar sekolah yang melalui jalan tersebut kira-kira pukul 12 tengah hari semalam.

Menurut isteri mangsa, Khatijah Md. Dom, 51, beliau diberitahu mengenai kejadian tersebut oleh seorang kenalan allahyarham termasuk saudaranya ketika dia sedang menyapu sampah di rumahnya di Taman Sentosa, Pekan Nanas.

Kata wanita itu, dia seperti tidak percaya apabila diberitahu mengenai kemalangan tersebut dan terus ke tempat kejadian dan mendapati suaminya telah meninggal dunia. - KOSMO!

Police nab 40 men and 10 women at Sembawang jungle brothel

Police raided an area of forest in Sembawang on Tuesday, arresting a total of 40 men and 10 at a makeshift open-air brothel there.

The brothel had been in operation along Sembawang Drive in the direction of Admiralty Road, about a kilometre from workers' dorms.

According to a report in Shin Min Daily News, many of the women arrested had been dressed in revealing outfits, and several men had been half-dressed at the time of arrest.

Tarpaulin sheets had been hung up to create three small rooms. Each cubicle was further divided into thee to five sections of about four square metres each. Thin mattresses were laid out on the ground in each section.

The grassy area was also reportedly in a mess, with discarded tissue paper, water bottles and open condom packets strewn everywhere.
