"Status : Waiting for Response" on modem router

1st of all, i've been trying all known methods to try to solve this problem, including calling the technician over to check the phone lines (which was working very well according to him), calling the TM hotline (which according to them it was my side failing to clear the bills and i was cut off), then clearing all the bills, and even resetting the modem router to factory setting and resetting everything back to what it was before. the ADSL light on the router isn't blinking as well, which means the line is also stable according to the technician. after all this work i still get the "status : waiting for response" on the status page in my DLINK router. HELP!!!

Had this error message for a few times already. Is this dead serious? My hard disk is still doing fine though, no odd sounds whatsoever. But unfortunately it's a Seagate so I'm quite worried here.

Core speed showing 2.00GHz instead of 2.67GHz. Something wrong? Underclocked? If so how can I fix it back?

here's what I'm planning to get for a PC overhaul:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz 4MB L2 Cache

Asus P5KC Intel P35 chipset motherboard

4GB of DDR2 667MHz ram

A decent powersupply

What's the price I should be expecting for each of the components? And any powersupply that's recommended for the above specs? Should I get the 667MHz or 800MHz for the ram? Any significant difference there?
