Digi Broadband Speed Reduced and Disconnections

Dear all,

I am using Digi broadband RM158 with 16GB quota. Most of the time, the broadband speed is merely 0.1Mb or 0.3Mb which is just about 50% of the advertised speed. The connection also disconnected from time to time for unknown reason. All these are totally different from the advertised AVERAGE SPEED 700kbps and CONSISTENCY MATTERS. I could just obtained 128kbps and it is frustrating and disappointing.

Surfing is limited to several tabs. Pictures couldn't load and often received page not found. I have to keep refreshing my web content in order for it to load properly.

Online game is even worst, frequent disconnections made the game difficult to play with. I want consistency so I picked Digi, but it fails me too. Any gamer know disconnections will cause a BIG BIG lost in game such as Starcraft II and also MMORPGs.

I often travel and book air tickets online. Disconnections interrupted my payments and I am not certain whether my payment through credit cards are being done or not. I may ended up in purchasing multiple tickets. If not, I need to go through all the process of selecting destinations, key-in personal details and try to grab another CHEAP tickets from airasia.

Webcam chat through Skype, Msn, Ym and so on is horrible with such speed. It doesn't matter how good is your WEBCAM, with HD and so, but with 128kbps downloading speed and merely 10kbps uploading speed the video quality is horrible. We can hardly see the face of the other person. Voice is breaking and unbearable.

I checked the quota limit, even at the end of the cycle i can just manage to use about 4GB due to the slow speed.

I checked the signal, it is 90% HSDPA connection.

There is no notification or place where I can check the service interruptions or mantainence in case such event happens. I tried to be positive and thinking maybe they have some issues to settle. But these have been dragging for months.

I called the Customer Service several times. Each time, they checked my line and they said it is OK. Then each time they asked me to unplug and plug back the modem to retry. These doesn't help. One time, the CS even told me to manually switch to EDGE because the 3G like is congested. I tried and the speed is even worst than before with EDGE. So I am paying RM158 a month and I am been asked to switch to EDGE because the 3G broadband is congested? So the server is unable to give me an AVERAGE 700kbps but merely 128 kbps like those who are being CAPPED?

RM158 is not a small amount of money I had to dish out monthly for 128kbps compared to 700kbps as per ADVERTISED.

Check this ad on top of lowyat forum... Can they just give me something like that? Digi? I would be very happy if i can just get 700kbps and consistency. Not these frequent disconnections.

May I know where can I complaint for internet service providers for giving less than 70% of their stated speed? I think I read it somewhere before there are government body to look after consumers and take actions against company who didn't comply the RULE. Haha if they ever gonna do it.

The game itself is quite interesting and fun to play. But our server is either lack of the capability to support this tiny little number of players or they got other problems that the game lags so much at a point it is frustrating.

When you play this game, expect to have about 5-20 seconds delay and frequent disconnections all day long.

Let's just wait and see how long this game will survive if this matters continue. Malaysia never cease to amaze me.
