my Nikon D50 DG PCB & CCD/FPC BROKEN! HELP

I lended my DSLR (Nikon D50) to a friend,

after 2 months, finally she returned to me, but she told me that something wrong with my camera
then she said she had sent the camera to nikon center and this is the result of it:

Repair Comment: REPLACE DG PCB & CCD/FPC
Parts Charge: RM1661.00

so i would expect the CCD censor, and the PCB board sot plug already la

She said she have NOT drop it or knock it, just the camera is too old (well it is Nikon D50) so the parts came too old and broke down

The problem is: NOW whenever i took any picture, the picture showed in viewfinder is just in RGB colour, totally out of colour and cant even show clear figure of things that i captured.

Any expert here can tell me, possibly why is it broken? it is because of drop, knock, dampness or is it because the camera is tooooo OLD?

and the price quoted: RM1.6K , it is this expensive to fix these parts?
SHOULD I GET A NEW ONE? or just fixed it?\

I'm going to clear off EVERYTHING in my room that i don't need anymore, so the PRICE are going VERY CHEAP as i just want to clear them off..PLEASE HELP ME! Mayb u'll find something u like?
