[WTA] Engine squeak on Wira 1.5A when hot

This problem happened a week ago.
When I first crank the engine (both cold and hot start), there is no sound. After randomly driving around between 10-15mins the squeak happens. It only happens when idling or crawling in a heavy traffic areas (between 900rpm to 1500rpm). Once I accelerate it disappears. When the sound appeared I tried to turn off the air-con, squeak still happens. Only happens when engine is hot. Car is a Wira Sedan 1.5A Carb '97.

I checked the belt, it is still tight. Any ideas?

"Connection reset by peer" alternative fix

I was trying several methods posted in lowyat to fix the prob but it is quite troublesome.
In the end I found one that works including private trackers*.

Torrent clients support proxy. This means I can use TOR (The Onion Router) for it but the problem is that all peer connections will go though it, which is bad. Luckily there is one torrent client that solves this problem. Azureus. In Azureus, you can either set the proxy to tracker, to peers or both. That means I can set TOR to connect to the tracker and direct link to the peers.

1. Download TOR from http://tor.eff.org/download.html.en Select the first package
(Tor & Privoxy & Vidalia bundle ver. 0.1.1.26 - Latest version at current writing)

2. Install it, run it. Two icons should appear in your tray. A letter "P" and an onion. As for my case, the onion has a cross over it because it is disabled by default. Right click it and click Start. Now you can forget about it.

3. Download and install the latest version of Azureus. Don't forget to install Java Runtime 6 too.

4. In Azureus, select Tools -> Options -> Connection -> Proxy Options

5. Check "Enable Proxying of tracker communications" and "I have a SOCKS proxy".

6. Host is 127.0.0.1 and port is 9050. Click Save (bottom left of Azureus).

Thats it. Torrent should work now.

*As for private trackers (e.g. Filelist.org), you can only download one file a time. This is because everytime Azureus connects via TOR, TOR will reroute to another location, hence different IP address. Sometimes I can download several at the same time but MOST of time I can't so I assume that I can only download one at a time.

Repair dead Aztech 600EW

As requested, below are the instructions to repair a dead Aztech 600EW. Do this at your own risk. You are personally responsible if you "brick" your router. Some vendors will see this as a warranty void case.

This method applies to Aztech 600EW (based on TI AR7WRD)

1. Your default LAN Connection Properties

2. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)

3. Click Properties

4. Enter values below:
IP Address: 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.1

5. Click OK, then OK.

6. Instal TI Remote Application from the given link.
ftp://ftp.aztech.com/sgp/ADSL/600ew/TI_RM...tion%20v2.3.zip
(It is better to extract to desktop first then run setup. I couldn't run it directly from ZIP. I think its because the installer is in 16 bit)

7. Run the TI application.

8. Enter 192.168.1.1 in IP Address.

9. Switch off modem.

10. Switch on modem.

11. Notice the LAN icon in your taskbar. Once its stated that its connected, quickly click Retrieve/Assign IP Address in the TI App.

12. Log Messages should show that it is connected and new options will appear.

13. Select "Flash" in Media type.
14. Use firmware ver. 66.20.4-001 from ftp://ftp.aztech.com/sgp/ADSL/600ew/66.20.4-001full.zip
(It is equivalent to Solwise's problematic single image 66.68.2-002 but this one is in three files.)

15. Under Download to TI Boot loader Target, select, Kernel/Filesystem/Single (something like that)
NOTE: If you are using TI App ver 2.0, the wording is different but nevertheless the same)

16. Download the files to your router according to the arrangement below by clicking Download then selecting the file.

config.xml
ram_zimage.ar7xxx.nsp.squashfs.bin
nsp.annexA.img
(DO NOT USE THE FILES WITH "UPGRADE" IN IT)

17. Switch off your modem then switch it on. Leave it for 3 minutes then do a hardware reset by pressing the pinhole switch behind the router for a few seconds)

18. DONE! Your modem should be recovered by now. Access the web admin site and configure your personal settings.

Step 10 to 11 can be quite difficult. Try several times. Another way to notice is this. When you boot your modem, the power light will turn red first then to green. The LED must be red when you do step 11. When the LED is green, it is too late, you have to start from no. 9 again. In other words, you got a few seconds. Also, the LAN must show that its connected. If either one is not acheived, it will not connect. Red LED means emergency repair mode has been toggled.

Step 16 onwards, some of you might encounter a crash in the TI Application. Try again several times by returning back to step 9. If it is still the same thing, try using TI App version 2.0 (the link above is for 2.3)

Firmware 66.20.4-001 is a Shiro Singapore Retail that was released on 13th June 2006.

Pentium D 930 on ECS 945P-A

Below are my comp specs:
Pentium D 930 w stock fan @ 3Ghz
1.5GB DDRII 533 Kingmax Mars
ECS 945P-A rev1.1
BenQ 1650
500W PSU
250GB WD SATAII HDD
Powercolor X1600 Pro PCIe
Avermedia AverTV Go with FM

Three months ago my motherboard died. So I requested a replacement and just got it last week. The problem is that it keeps on restarting by itself. No BSOD, just sudden restart. (I have already unchecked the Automatically Restart function)

It is fine when I'm browsing the net of typing documents on it but the problem arises when I'm playing games and doing video encoding. The restarting period is also random. When I'm playing HL2:EP1, it restarts randomly from 10mins to 2 hrs. I suspected it was a temp problem. I fired up speedfan and checked the BIOS readings. Something's not right. Previously my CPU idle temp was 42C and now its 23C. No changes with the surrounding temp. Any ideas??

Fan2 is CPU and Fan3 is casing.

[attachmentid=148274]
