Hello there. For context;

I recently bought 3 ACs for my 700 sqft living dining space combo.

Initially the idea was to switch the AC's on on 12 hour intervals, so AC 1 will turn on, and then AC 2 will turn off and vice versa. Temps were set to 27C as for some unbeknownst reason, this temperature seems to be very comfortable compared to the previous house. Previously we had to set it to 22C. Might be because of the ceiling and floor insulation and because mine's a terrace, so my neighbours provide the wall insulation.

My technician however, said it's better to just keep them both running 24/7. He explains that Daikin actually builds the inverters to be operated 24/7. Like it's literally in his training, he was told to recommend the customers to keep it on if they can. Customers that do this, he only goes once every 6 months to clean out the filters and check, and typically no issues.

He said the most strenuous part of the AC is in starting the system as it sends a jolt of amperage and then it has to run extremely hard to cool the walls and all heat retaining masses in the house. Apparently this is what kills the electronics and inverters have really sensitive chips. We have the luxury of solar power & a 2 year warranty, so we figured we might as well try it.

It's been 3 weeks now, and we haven't turned off the AC since we installed it. We got our first bill and we still have an excess of 80kw of solar power. Granted this isn't the full 4 weeks of a month but that's our billing cycle.

I'm posting to see if anyone else does this, and hows it been for you?

Waterproofing For Green Roof

Hello all. Hope you're all well.

I'm building a RC slab and I've plans to make it into a green roof.

We've done this before in our barn back in Hull. We just applied a PU membrane and then built on top of it. 12 years with no issues

However, the weather conditions there are completely different to the intensity of the sun and variance in temperature in Malaysia.

We're not looking to waste money, but we're also not terribly tight with the wallet. We'd rather utilise the finances than having to redo this if it messes up.

The RC slab will be screeded to eliminate any ponding issues and will have a 1 degree angle across 8 meters of length. The edges will have drain channels to help drain off water as quickly as possible.

Any input from members who've actually had no issues with their RC slabs for would be highly highly appreciated.

I'm selling mine at RM2,000.

A few things to note:

1. There's no more warranty available.

2. I can't afford to open an Apple store, so I can't provide you with a "return if unhappy" policy

3. I use my desktop most of the time, and this laptop is used to watch TV or do some light typing stuff in the evening before bed. So it's really lightly used.

4. I've already changed the thermal paste on the processor and did a full clean up 1 week ago. It's clean inside and outside. Removed the mainboard, fans, heatsink, every single thing and tried to clean it as best as I can.

5. I've already checked the PCB, ribbons, connection points, to ensure there's no corrosion on the board. It's used in an air-cond room so it's pretty dry. Nothing visible on the board.

6. I've done the best I can to ensure that the next person buying this laptop will be able to enjoy it fully for a few more years. But if you're fussy, this isn't the laptop for you.

7. RM2,000.

8. COD location is in Bangsar. But a few times a week, I do pop by Mont Kiara. We can COD there too. If you rather have it delivered, feel free to pick your service and send the chap over.
