FX United is a scam / Ponzi Scheme

There has been for the last few months another multi-level marketing (pyramid) scam going on in Malaysia called FX United and it is going under the guise of an FX trading company registered under the name United Holdings Group (in New Zealand) where insane returns and bonuses are promised if you sign more people under you and have them sign up more people etc. Some simple research and logical thinking would show that this is indeed a ponzi scheme as such incredible returns are really not possible with what they show to be their business model. Some further research will show that their operating address in New Zealand is fake and over 90% of all the websites traffic is coming from Malaysia, which means it's a scam aimed at Malaysians.

Bank Negara and the Financial Markets Authority of New Zealand has already given out warnings against the company:

Bank Negara Financial Consumer Alert

Financial Markets Authority of New Zealand - Warnings

The following link also busts some of the other supposed information and the comments section also has some good info:

Behind MLM

Please tell everyone you know to avoid this at all costs.

KTM to halve train intervals by 2019

KTM to halve train intervals by 2019; upgrades to cause delays now

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 ― By 2019, the thousands of commuters who rely daily on Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad’s (KTMB) train services can expect waiting time to be reduced by half from the current 15 minutes to just 7.5 minutes.

In the interim, however, KTMB said today that it will roll out a new timetable this Friday that will see longer queues for trains for the next four years, with wait times expected to double or more in areas with fewer riders and during off-peak hours.

KTMB project division general manager Ismail Said explained that this is to facilitate upgrading works along the existing Klang Valley double-tracks aimed at achieving the new 7.5-minute frequency.

“This project outcome is to achieve headway or frequency of every 7.5 minutes, which can be categorised as 'Metro' standard, like the LRT or the upcoming MRT.

“For the 'Metro' standard, the frequency is around 3.5 minutes, but we cannot achieve that. The maximum we can go to is 7.5 minutes,” he told the media in a briefing on the Klang Valley Double Track (KVDT) project.

By 2019, KTM Berhad is also targeting to increase the passenger per hour per direction from 1,000 to 6,000, as well as to boost the daily ridership from 117,800 to 250,000, he said.

KTMB general manager of operations S. Mahendran confirmed that the 7.5-minute frequency will only be achievable when the entire project is completed in 2019.

The new timetable this Friday will see train intervals at the Seremban-Batu Caves route increased both ways from 15 minutes to 45 minutes during weekends and public holidays and off-peak hours on weekdays.

Riders using the Sungai Buloh-Pelabuhan Klang route will see 45-minute intervals for both ways during off peak hours of 9am to 4pm and 8pm to 12.30am on weekdays.

The waiting time on weekdays for the Tanjung Malim-Pelabuhan Klang route, on the other hand, will be 30 minutes during the morning peak hours of 5.30am to 9pm, while the reverse direction during the same period will see an interval of 30 or 60 minutes, with the remaining hours for both ways to have a 60-minute interval.

On weekends and public holidays, the Tanjung Malim-KL Sentral route will have one-hour intervals for both ways, while the KL Sentral-Pelabuhan Klang route will have 45-minute intervals for both ways.

The upgrading works is also expected to affect the timetable for other train services, namely the KTM Intercity, ETS and KTM Cargo, along the Tanjung Malim-Rawang-Pelabuhan Klang route.

The lower frequency is necessary to allow for scheduled shutting down of tracks to carry out various works under the RM1.41 billion project, such as the laying of new tracks that will be easier to maintain, Ismail said.

Ismail said the project slated for completion on November 1, 2019 will also involve the replacement of 20-year-old signalling equipment with the latest technology to reduce theft for scrap metal and service disruption, installation of radio systems throughout the entire length of KTM Berhad's tracks in Peninsular Malaysia, upgrading of 16 KTM Komuter stations and a new feeder station in Sentul for generation of more electricity to increase train frequencies.

KTMB general manager Azshidah Shah Shahari said the new timetable will be in force for the next four years until the end of the upgrading works.

Azshidah said the company does not expect “much problem” to arise as a result of the reduced intervals, noting that the public has been notified of the upgrading project as early as last month.

“But even then we are prepared for any contingency that may happen,” she said.

According to KTM Berhad, commuters can also opt to use local buses that service the Rawang-Medan Pasar route every 10 minutes at a rate of RM3.70 one-way or the Bus Expressway Transit at the same rate for Bandar Tasik Puteri/Rawang Country Homes-Medan Pasar.

Azshidah also gave the assurance that the KTM Komuter fare will not be increased after the upgrading works are completed.

- See more at: The Malay Mail Online

Thai drunk drivers to work in hospital morgues

Thailand: Drunk drivers to work in hospital morgues as punishment

by Asian Correspondent Staff | 12th April 2016

IN an effort to discourage drunk and irresponsible driving during the annual Songkran festival, Thai authorities have threatened to send convicted offenders to work in hospital morgues.

This unusual punishment is part of an attempt by the authorities to counter locals’ often blasé attitudes towards road safety and act as a deterrent.

The Bureau of Public Health’s emergency response director Anurak Amornpetchsathaporn said a court-approved stint cleaning up and transporting bodies in hospital morgues should send a clear message of the pain caused by reckless driving in a way that common community service activities such as picking up litter has failed to do.

Thailand has the second worst record in the world for traffic fatalities, with health and safety experts expressing their concern that the situation may be worsening.

According to the World Health Organization’s 2015 Global Status Report of Road Safety, in Thailand, 14,059 people were killed in road accidents in 2012, which is about 36.2 people per per 100,000.

Meanwhile, Thai police have also arrested more than 20,000 people for involvement in suspicious criminal activities to further ensure public safety during Songkran, which is the traditional Thai New Year’s holiday, celebrated from April 13 to 15 with water fights held across the nation.

In Bangkok, officials previously announced a shorter festive period in a bid to address the country’s worsening water shortage.

Asian Correspondent

Malaysians watch the most YouTube in the world

Msians watch more YouTube than anyone else in the world

BY MINDERJEET KAUR - 23 FEBRUARY 2016 @ 6:37 PM

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has set a benchmark for watching YouTube compared to the rest of the world. According to Google Survey, Malaysians spend double the time watching YouTube than any other nation on earth. It revealed that most Malaysians spent time on the streaming site listening to music, watching movies and “how to fix” shows. Malaysians also scored high on multitasking — browsing smartphones while watching television. The survey carried out last year showed 92 per cent of Malaysians actively browse their phones while watching television. Managing director for Google Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines and new emerging markets, Sajith Sivanandan said Malaysians spent a total of 80 minutes on the site, double the global average of 40 minutes a day. “This is because two out of three Malaysians are smartphone users, with the country being one of 21 countries worldwide where smartphone adoption is higher than computer adoption. “It also shows they love YouTube,” said Sajith during panel discussions on ‘So who watches YouTube in Malaysia?’, here today. Malaysians aged between 16 and 34 years-old watch the most YouTube videos on a monthly basis. The survey interviewed 1,000 Malaysians aged 16 to 64 years on their YouTube viewing habits across mobile and desktop devices; taking into consideration their preferred viewing times, session lengths, content genres and sharing habits.

nst

What's with the Thailand > Malaysia circle jerk?

Why so many people suddenly saying everything in Thailand is better than Malaysia? Infrastructure is about 15-20 years behind malaysia and really is in a pathetic state right now, especially highways, no new highways have been built in bangkok since the mid 90s. People are also still quite poor and have no access to credit as they don't live on official paychecks, majority still only earn about RM 1000 a month (and they work 30 days a month to get that salary, no weekends or holidays). Buses here are still literally from the 1960s with no AC and have wooden floors, no disabled access anywhere. Telecoms infra is terrible as well, see cables everywhere.

Thailand is also a dictatorship and someone was just recently jailed for 37 years (was supposed to be 64 years but he pleaded guilty) because he liked a photo on the facebook talking bad about a DOG. Corruption is beyond insane.

Malaysia invests $27-million into Fusion Power

Malaysia invests $27-million in Canada's General Fusion startup who will begin building full scale prototype in 2017

A Malaysian state-owned company invested $27 million in General Fusion.

Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund, the Khazanah Nasional Berhad, made an investment with current investors Growthworks and Jeff Bezos's personal venture capital fund. The funds will go to commercializing the company's key technology—a metal sphere pumped full of molten lead-lithium that spews out quantities of energy. The Burnaby-based company has raised over $100 million to date. General Fusion needs to finish refining some technology for the next two years. General Fusion plans to being building the full scale prototype in 2017. General Fusion would have Canadian and Malaysia government backing for the full scale prototype funding.

General Fusion is nearing significant milestones. General Fusion’s Approach is Magnetized target fusion (MTF). Magnetized target fusion is a hybrid between magnetic fusion and inertial confinement fusion. In MTF, a compact toroid, or donut-shaped magnetized plasma, is compressed mechanically by an imploding conductive shell, heating the plasma to fusion conditions.

General Fusion has a full-scale prototype [of the injectors and other subsystems], twin plasma injectors resembling five-metre-long cones, each attached to opposite ends of a three-metre-diameter sphere, would pulse a few milligrams of hydrogen gas, heat it until it becomes a plasma, and inject it into a vortex of swirling liquid metal. Electricity circulating in the plasma would create magnetic fields that bind the plasma together and confine the heat.

From there, an array of as many as 300 huge pistons attached to the sphere’s shell would act like synchronized jackhammers, ramming it at 200 km/hr. This would send shockwaves into the very centre of the chamber, compressing the hydrogen isotopes to 100 million degrees celsius — hot enough for fusion to occur, and good enough to generate clean electricity from steam turbines.

General Fusion reached its milestones on the piston timing about two years ago. Technicians are now perfecting functionality of the plasma injectors.

Next big future

Israel to annex Golan Heights

Israel to annex Golan Heights after 'billion barrel' oil find
Jonathan Cook / Middle East Eye

15th November 2015

After a massive oil find in Syria's Golan Heights, occupied by Israel since 1967, Israel is asking President Obama to recognise its annexation of the territory, writes Jonathan Cook. To consolidate its hold, plans are afoot to quadruple Israeli settler numbers to 100,000.

The company believes the reservoir has the 'potential of billions of barrels'. Any proceeds from such a find in the Golan should revert to Syria, but Israel has so far indicated it will ignore its legal obligations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took advantage of a private meeting last week with Barack Obama - their first in 13 months - to raise the possibility of dismembering Syria.

According to Israeli officials, Netanyahu indicated that Washington should give its belated blessing to Israel's illegal annexation of the Golan Heights, captured from Syria during the 1967 war.

Sources close to the talks told the Haaretz newspaper that Netanyahu claimed Syria was no longer a functioning state, allowing for "different thinking". Since 2011 the government of Bashar al-Assad has faced off against rebel factions that include al-Qaeda-affiliated groups and the Islamic State (IS).

On Wednesday an unnamed White House official confirmed that Netanyahu had raised the matter. The official said: "I think the president didn't think it warranted an answer. It wasn't clear how serious he [Netanyahu] was about it."

However, it appears Netanyahu's comments to Obama are part of a coordinated effort by Israeli officials over several months to shift thinking in Washington.

The day before Netanyahu's meeting at the White House, Michael Oren, Israel's former ambassador to the US, published a commentary on CNN's website urging Obama to consider Israeli sovereignty over the Golan.

Had Israel handed back the area to Syria in earlier peace talks, he wrote, it "would today have placed [the Lebanese militia] Hezbollah directly above Israeli cities and villages in northern Galilee" and Islamic State (ISIS) "would be dug in on the Sea of Galilee's eastern shore."

'Billions of barrels' of oil

Neither Oren nor presumably Netanyahu highlighted another reason why Israel might be anxious to gain US approval of its effective annexation of the Golan in 1981, when it passed the Golan Heights Law extending Israeli law and administration throughout the territory, in violation of international law.

Last month Afek, an Israeli subsidiary of Genie Energy, a US oil company, announced that it had found considerable reserves of oil under the Golan. Genie's chief geologist in Israel, Yuval Bartov, said the company believed the reservoir had the "potential of billions of barrels". International law experts say any proceeds from such a find in the Golan should revert to Syria, but Israel has so far indicated it will ignore its legal obligations.

The Israeli energy and water ministry has licensed Afek to drill 10 experimental wells over three years in a 400-square kilometre area, about a third of the Golan's total territory. Afek claims that the discoveries it has identified in its first year could make Israel energy independent, satisfying Israel's consumption of 100 million barrels a year for the foreseeable future.

That would be on top of Israel's recent finds of huge quantities of natural gas off its Mediterranean coast, offering it the chance to become a gas exporter.

Were the US to recognise Israel's illegal annexation of the Golan, it would likely clear the way for Israel to plunder any economically viable reserves located there.

Netanyahu appears to have long harboured an interest in tapping the Golan's potential for oil. In 1996, in his first term as prime minister, he granted approval for drilling in the Golan by the Israeli National Oil Company. International pressure meant the permit had to be withdrawn soon afterwards.

The Ecologist

Besides serving TPM, this new station’s catchment area will also include many future development projects in the Sungai Besi area.

The increase in the area of coverage with this additional station will result in an increase in ridership levels.

With this additional station, the SSP Line will now have 37 stations. Of these, 25 stations will be elevated stations, 11 stations will be underground, and one (1) will be “half-sunken” where it will be built on the ground below the current level.

With the SSP Line, residents living along the alignment will get direct and efficient access to the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur. The SSP Line will also integrate with the future Kuala Lumpur-Singapore High Speed Rail.

The overall length of the final alignment remains unchanged at 52.2km, of which 38.7km will elevated and 13.5km will be underground. The underground section of the alignment will be between Jalan Ipoh and Kuchai Lama.

Phase One of the SSP Line between Sungai Buloh and Kampung Batu is expected to be operational by July 2021, while the remaining section between Kampung Batu and Putrahaya Sentral will be operational under Phase 2 by July 2022.

MRT Corp expects the SSP Line to have a ridership of more than 500,000 passengers daily when it is fully operational in July 2022.

For the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line (SBK Line), Phase One will begin operations by the end of 2016, while the remainder of the line will begin operations under Phase Two by July 31, 2017.

The Star
