Which laptop is good for Autocad?

Anyone who uses their laptop for Autocad?

Looking at HP DV6 model 6168TX with i7 2670QM 2.2Ghz processor and 8Gb DDR3 rams with AMD Radeon HD6770 2Gb DDR5. Will this be good enough?

Dear sifus,

I am looking for a lappy for my wife. She needs it especially for autocad 3D design.

I have a few models in mind currently as below

1. Asus A42Jr (i5) with GPU ATI 5470 1Gb DDR3 (14")
2. Asus UL30 (SU 7300 C2D processor) with Embedded Intel® GMA X4500MHD & NVIDIA® GeForce® G 210M with 512 MB VRAM- switchable graphics
3. HP dm3-1128tx (SU 7300 C2Dprocessor) with GPU NVIDIA GeForce G 105M 512 MB dedicated memory (13.3")
4. Toshiba Portege M900 (i3) with GPU NVIDIA GeForce 310 with 512Mb (13.3")

My questions & requirements;

1. Can laptops with SU processors (come with external GPU, eg Asus UL30 and HP) handle 3d Autocad?
2. I prefer lightweight as my wife will be carrying it, so the lappy with SU processors are my first priority.
3. Preference of RM3K and below.

Hi all,

I am currently using the BT headset, but find this unhealthy with continous hours of usage when playing online games.

Hence, I set a quest to replace it with a wired headphones that comes with mic (& USB connection). I found a few Logitech models, but what I would like to know is that can PS3 support this through their USB?

If yes, anybody can recommend which brand and model?

Hi all,

My living room Plasma (Philips low res) just currently died on me yesterday, cannot start up. My wife had asked me to go and ask for the repairing charge and see if it is worth the repair or not. I am thinking to take this opportunity for a replacement to FHD LCD 46" or above (if price permits).

Previously had set my eyes on either Sammy A950 or the LED 6000 46", but suddenly the thought of spending that much scared me. Both models would cost me approx RM8K and 10K respectively. I had just upgraded my master room to 40" LED 6000 bout 3mths ago..so already overspend..

Now, I am trying to survey for a good 46" FHD LCD which may be value for money and cheaper than the 2 models of my previous consideration for my living room. I may still end up with either model but before I decide, I wanna make sure I spend wisely .. "VALUE FOR MONEY". So I am in a dilemma here.

Mostly, I watch my BD's in my master room wif my wife most of the time, that is why I chose the LED series, PQ excellent, but still pricey. So the living room would be used mostly for PS3, Astro and sometimes BD when I am alone in the hse.

There are many good and experience sifus here, and I hope anybody could advise me..... so that I can choose wisely. I would prefer brands like Samsung, Sony or Sharp only.... Also did thought of the Panasonic Plasma S10 50", but.... somehow, I kinda like LCD better after viewing my LED TV in the master room

Apologised if there was already any topic regarding this, but can't seem to find it.

I already own a PS3, but seriously considering another set as a BD player... Any comments from anyone to either use a PS3 or a standard BD player for BD movies playback???

Or course a PS3 can play BD movies, games, etc... and cheap too for a player..

But I am sure a standard BD player has many much more functions... anyone care to input some info here?

3G iPhone (US)

Hi all,

Just got my iPhone 3G 16Gb, but now realise it is from AT&T. Believe it should be from US version, and need a Flex Sim adapter.

Notice a lot of limitation, no video mode, no Cydia or Installer icon, don't even think the 3G is enabled as there are no other settings.

I am a newbie, hence have some enquiries as below;

1. Notice the software version is 2.0.1. Don't think this is unlocked yet, correct me if I am wrong.
2. If it is not unlocked yet, is there any software to unlock it?
3. Am I able to install the Cydia or Installer to enjoy the free download?

Appreciate for some advise.
