Does /k want children?

When I was younger I wanted children but as I grew older, the reality of the world started kicking in and made me think perhaps it is not that good of an idea given how much I cherish the freedom that I have now.

I am sure there are joyous moments involved with having children, sometimes I see some /k members proudly showing off the achievements of their children, some even enrolling them in /k pageant contest. However, is it worth it given the state of the world we now live in and the opportunity costs involved with having children?

Anyone regret having children?

On a related note, if you and your partner has differing opinion on having children, is that the end of the relationship?

Random Calls from Singapore

I have been getting random calls from Singapore (+65).

This started since Aug 27. Every day without fail, I have been getting calls from +65 numbers. Mind you, they are all different numbers, 7 different numbers so far.

I missed the first few calls and I did not call back as I have no dealings with anyone in Singapore.

On Saturday morning I missed another call. Out of curiosity I called back, not in service.

This morning I got another call, I picked up. No sound, nothing.

Just now I picked up another call and again, nothing.

So I guess my question is, what is going on and is anyone experiencing the same thing?

My windows just crashed and I'm hoping to give Ubuntu a go. And I have some questions.

(1) If I use Ubuntu, will I be able to save the files I have in my D drive?

(2) What about the drivers? Is it easy to get?

Since I had changed my modem, the last one aint compatible with Windows 7. My connection keep on disconnecting. This didn't happen last time. Hoping to buy a new modem that can work 24/7. Any suggestion? anyone know anything about WAN miniport? Thanks
