Need HELP! black screen on startup window

Hi,

I need help for my friend's computer.
Currently his computer is unable to login/start into windows.
As we know, after the "Welcome" message, the system will enter a moment of black screen before loading desktop right?
But somehow my friend's computer is stuck in the black screen.
After the welcome message, he only sees black screen and a mouse cursor.

I have told him to startup repair using the Windows' installation disk through booting.
But the setup shows that there is no error to be found and he still faces the same problem.
So we are at lost on what we need to do to troubleshoot this.

Before this starts happening, when he was in Windows, he cannot open the "Task Manager" at all.
Moreover, suspecting it is a virus doing, he tried scanning his computer but the result returned clean.

So can you guys help us?

hi all...

just wanna make a short survey n discussion.

consider these circumstances:
1. u can connect to internet anywhere anytime without using any computer
2. you have a high connection bandwidth

so what kind of application u will use it for?
to make things clear, for example video streaming directly from video camera to the net

what do u think?
