hi guys,

my huawei mate 20 phone power button not sensitive. Sent to HUawei service center, which they said need to change whole board.

Thus any good repair recommended shop in KV to recommend.
Shop with Zeiss prescription glasses

Hi guys,

Please share good shops with Zeiss prescription glasses where the price is good. So far I believe shops in popular malls need to cover their high rental, thus price will not be ok.

Do share man..

Btw, for people that need to wear prescription glasses, any idea where can have options that can do prescription dark (sun glasses) that having polarized? or best fancy a bit like shinning etc which like normal non-power Sun glasses.

So far it seems short sighted people cannot have nice sun glasses... unless wear contact lens.

Mini PC vs Full Size Desktop

Hi guys,

I had been a traditional desktop supporter as always believe it has many benefits such as best cooling to make it run as really low temperate, resulting into most stables sytem. With nice beautiful motherboard that give us super confidents on super solid reliability like Z series (lots of fancy heatsink). I also brain washed by its website explaining every components is ultra reliable... Really siok reading them. At the same time, upgradability is no limits for graphics, memory, storage and you name it.

However, recently I found that even 2 to 3 years old desktops with Gigabyte Z series beautiful type + branded PSU were showing imperfection. Yeah.. With the price paid, and such size, consumer usually do not expect imperfection. Problems such as random failure to boot, huge size USB SSD having detection issue and need to replug few times.. If can boot up, everything is perfect even under stressed. These are small minor issues.. Yes.. But it break my believe that good desktop should be of rock solid perfection.

And recently I purchased used mini PC known as Intel NUC 10th Gen, i3 processor only. It is 16GB RAM + 1TB WD NVME. And I can tell you it is very smooth, even smoother than both my i7 laptops. Its WiFi performance beat all my 3 laptops, crazily good. Display output supporting HDMI 2.0 and my favourite USB-C... And 11th gen NUC even has dual USB-C and dual HDMI2.. damn.. touching on the casing also hardly warm. Sound great right?

Now this is what I am thinking for my next desktop next year;
(1) Desktop.. Even without graphic card will cost me over RM5k.. around RM6k. The problem with desktop is that we always over spend, thinking of future usage and upgradeability that most people never need. Example: surely at least i7, minimal 8 cores, only need 32GB, but will buy 64GB etc.. we can see really low temperature as always buy oversize heatsink... or water cooler... yeah.. But experiences tell it might not as lasting as we hope. It depends on luck... It mean there is 50-50 chances that all the good money spend did not return what we paying for... This is something not found in major website about reality.

(2) Mini PC - i5 + 32GB + 1TB SSD (maybe latest PCI4 one) will cost only around RM3k. It is almost half the price as compare to the desktop option. But the down side is only 4 cores (actually enough), relatively good graphic (save lots of $$$), limited storage as only one piece of NVME can be inserted. But recently I found its down side, while stressing, it can easily surpassed 80C in temperature (while we touch the casing always not warm, which is misleading). I never see such high temperature for normal desktop as always with huge heatsink.. And again wonder reliability in long run due to temperature. While Intel replied as long as less than 100C, it is nothing to worry.

So guys, what do you think? I think the major issue is that there is no statistic or known information about product reliability. Do hope you can share your experiences. For now, I prefer the NUC as small size, cuteness, portable (can carry anywhere), cost me less $$$, so maybe I can buy new PC every 3 years? Cheaper allow us to change system earlier?

Really appreciate you guys to share your experiences.. especially on the tiny cute one. Focus on reliability in long run if possible...

Random boot failure

Hi guys,

My 6th gen i7 system desktop having an issue.. Sometime it will fail at boot. When it fail, it always fail.. need to cut off power.. another 5 minutes try. While some time late night.. no issue at all with 20+ reboot success...

When it fail, it failed at the BIOS boot up where the screen did not show the "press 'del' or F12 to enter BIOS". If I can see this words, then okay one.

As long as it can boot in, it is perfect stable and can run for days including CPU intensive thing...

Another thing is that sometime I plug in some high capacity pendrive on it, it has difficulty to detect.. but if I plug into the monitor USB hub, which from same desktop, always ok.

So what do you think? MBoard or PSU? Problem is not serious.. but just disturbing sometime.

Btw, no graphic card etc.. Thus super silent

Questions : Canon EF to R mount Adapter

Hi guys,

How are you? I have some EF lenses and looking forward to EOS R mount in the future. Thus now doing some homework.

Here some questions about EF to R mount adapter that I fail to find the info from google and need actual users experiences.. Hope you can take your time to answer.

(1) Will the EF to R mount causing lost in infinity focus with shorter lenses? From the adapter photo, I saw it has no optical elements inside and technically add distance between lenses and camera sensor. If not sure. Let me know which lenses you tested and still can focus to infinity or at least 30 meters away (like in play ground etc).

(2) There are 3 types of Canon original adapter. The one I not sure if about the ring control. What can it control? Did you use it? Or not useful? Price differences?

(3) I saw online price for the Canon original adapter is expensive. The plain adapter costing about RM600. If it has no special function, affordable compatible one should be ok as well right?

(4) Appreciate all other actual experiences information~
