Xbox Live Gold - NZ to Malaysia?

I'll make it as straightforward as I can

1 - I live in NZ, play Xbox Live, have NZ account, have NZ credit card, have valid subscription.
2 - Bring Xbox back to Malaysia but I want to continue using Xbox for online multiplayer (I understand Malaysia is not officially supported)

so is it true that to continue using Xbox Live I have to:

- move my account region/locale to SG
- use a dummy SG address/number
- buy Xbox Live Gold scratch card from shopee/online/whatever
- redeem and use live gold as per usual?

are those steps correct?

1 - Since RMCO started PM said we can travel interstate
2 - If a non-Sabahan (without work visa/Sabah PR) were to travel to Sabah, is it permitted or do I need some form of certificate to prove that I am COVID-free?
3 - Tried to search for official information but couldn't find any.

Prior to the migration the access of the website from NZ is slow, just like accessing US forums from Malaysia.
After the migration is complete LYN loads lightning fast from NZ now. Feels like visiting a local website.

This is especially helpful during the political turmoil last week when I need to refresh the page to get updates quickly.

Hi guys first time posting here.

So I’ll be travelling to Gold Coast in a few weeks, I need some recommendation on what to do there. I’ll lay some info first.

I’ll be there for 3 days 3 nights. Staying in Surfer’s. I won’t be renting a car because it’s over my budget so I couldn’t venture inland. So far I know I’ll be visiting Surfer’s Paradise (the strip and and beach), broadbeach (walk around), Skypoint observation deck, maybe some shopping malls like pacific shopping mall in broadbeach. I’ll allocate one full day for dreamworld.

My question is that is that all in Gold Coast? I need more recommendation on what else to do besides walking beachside strip malls and dreamworld. Maybe some restaurant recommendations like seafood buffet or something.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Netgear Orbi problem

I've been running a set of Netgear Orbi for awhile now. I have gigabit connection (900/500) but on wifi it seems that Orbi has capped it at around 20-30Mbps

ethernet direct to the router gives me the promised 900/500 speeds but when it comes to wifi the uploads are horrendous.

i've tried playing around with settings but no luck

Hi all,

As Mojave drops today I feel like everyone should know that Mojave officially removes subpixel font smoothing.
All non-retina displays like external monitors (1080p, ultrawide 1080p, or lower) and non-retina screens like older MacBooks will display fonts without subpixel smoothing.

This results in harder-to-read fonts on non-retina screens. Fonts now look jagged and rough.
Seems like Apple is now implementing 'retina-everywhere' where they just assume everyone is using Retina standard screens now.

Question about 195 65/R15 91H tyre pressure

So my car is fitted with these tyres (as mentioned above), the fuel cap indicates that recommended pressure for all tyres are 2bar (29psi)
The other day I sent my car for wheel alignment and balancing they told me they pumped 36psi for all four tyres (huge jump from 29psi). I felt that the steering is smoother and the car feels lighter.

My question is, should I continue using 36psi for all four tyres or go back to 29psi as indicated by the car?
I don't want to over inflate or under inflate my tyres either. Not sure if 36psi is correct or not.

My car is a 2011 VW Golf Mk6

edit: I should also add that the tyres are non-stock, does that make any difference to the manufacturer's recommended pressure?

Just got the Google Pixel

Just got the Google Pixel in "quite black" colour. I opted for the smaller 5" model.

So, first impressions:

1 - Wow, it's thick, coming from an iPhone this thing feels heavy, but it's a good kind of heavy. Makes the chassis feel very sturdy and strong. None of that "thin and light" Jony Ive crap. Bittersweet.

2 - Design - meh. It's just okay although I appreciate the lack of a camera hump. The bottom of the phone is thinner than the top to compensate the large camera module.

3 - speakers - decent sounding, bit on the low-end side but sounds just like any other phone.

4 - software - wow. wow. wow. this one needs a few part

4(a) - android is fast. real fast. fluid, amazingly smooth. everything is so smooth it feels like the phone isnt even sweating doing everything here

4(b) - touch latency , now this is a real thing. tech reviewers usually just say blah blah 4GB ram, 2.1Ghz quad core blah blah but they almost never touched on the topic of touch latency. the touch latency on this device is almost on par with the iPhone and Windows Phone. It means that the response to scrolling and scribbing is very responsive. previous android phones are horrible at the latency, making scrolling a page delayed very significantly. iPhone is around 60ms, this one is reported to be around 70ms. not yet there, but close enough to be good. the scroll inertia is very similar to the iPhone as well so thats good when paired with the much improved latency.

4© - google assistant, i gotta admit. this >>>>> siri. siri couldnt even answer me questions like "what movies are showing today". google assistant instantly yielded results from a cinema nearby with show times. so thats good. google is a little late to the game in terms of the "conversational" feature of the assisnant (apple did it on 2012) but nevertheless it is a damn good one.

5 - battery - only used it for 3 days, still need burn in more and let it familiarise with my usage, so for now cannot tell yet. fast charge is good though.

6 - camera - wow, the focus on this thing is on par or faster than the S7. but then only 3 days, mostly working these few days. will take prolly tomorrow or wednesday to go to some places and take some more pictures and videos to test it out.

7 - gaming, i dont game much, only pokemon go (yes its still a thing in new zealand), it runs a little choppier than the iphone, not sure why, maybe needs more optimisation for 7.1 but we'll see. generally runs good.

7 - screen, 1080p AMOLED, works as usual
8 - GPS - good.
9 - call quality - good, crisp
10 - wifi, reception, all top notch.

so yeah AMA.
I'll allow around 30mins of my time to answer as much as i can

Transitioning from iPhone 6 to Nexus 6P

So as some of ya'll know that I bought a Nexus 6P last week to replace my ageing old and slow HTC One M8 (HTC was my secondary phone)
My iPhone is my main device as of last week, upon picking the Nexus 6P I felt that Android has gone more mature since KitKat/Lollipop.

So I decided to use it as my main device. Guess what I absolutely loved it, it's a good change and I like the smoothness of my 6P. I can only hope my 6P remains as smooth as it is now for at least 2 years.
One downside is that the apps for Android is not as optimised/pretty/costumed as iOS, it looks just way better and functions better as well.
Game titles such as Steppy Pants (for real go try it out) is not available for Android.

And I'm using Google Wallet to make contactless payment, so that's a plus since Apple Pay is taking forever to come to NZ.

All in all it's a good device and hopefully it'll remain as good.
