Initially I was planning to get myself an ipad cellular ( maybe wait for ipad 5), now using ipad 3 cellular , so i try to plan out which is the most worthy plan ( actual speed + actual coverage + actual price + actual responsive) .. This is not a professional review , just my 2 month experiences to share with, all statistic is average value.

I bought 4 prepaid broadband
- hotlink broadband claim 42 mbps ( bb sim pack rm 5 with 50mb free)
- celcom broadband claim 21 mbps (rm70- 4.5gb together with portawifi)
- digi bb claim 700kbps
- u mobile claim 42 mbps

Journey from penang to jb

Lets talk bout celcom prepaid broadband with porta wifi , amazingly on portawifi , i check with speedtest.net - speed is usually 4-5mbps (even in sunway) but using ipad s own cellular the speed was 8-9 mbps , however , the number indownloading speed by celcom is somehow cheated in a way , even though it shows 8-9 mbps , but opening website with my ipad took 5 -10 times more longer than hotlink bb which usually shows 0.7- 2 mbps !! So i guess the download speed from the speedtest.net is just for downloading file, as for web browsing , like facebook or google depends more on the communication server responsive.. Even celcom shows full signal bars and hotlink shows 1 bar, still hotlink open website much faster. Maxis 3g coverage is wider than celcom, but a lot of places show 1 bar 3g yet fast browsing

digi otherwise show very stable and convincing speed , if its 5 bars signal- 4mbps , 3 bars -2 mbps , 1 bar 100 kbps , website opening speed is 5 bar fastest , 1 bar slowest. Means digi actually give u what ever shown on the signal bars, not like celcom show 5 bars still download speed can suddenly drop to 0.4mbps . Digi got better coverage than celcom. Celcom appears more Edge when digi still have 3g.

U mobile broadband have the best user experience rm40 for 2gb , rm68 for 5gb , the speed 3mbps to 15mbps , coverage is good , speed of opening website is fast , download is fast. Using u mobile bb makes me don want to use other telco bb d , but too bad they don have iphone and ipad plan.

Averagely , u mobile is the best in term of quality and price value.
as for ipad bundle plan ,maxis have 24 month rm 50 or rm 75 plan save around rm400-600
Celcom have 12 month or 24 month plan , even the 12 month plan could save rm400 with rm 70 monthly fee ( cheapest)
Digi is the most expensive ipad plan - ipad cheaper rm100 only

if u mobile have ipad buddle plan , i definately will take u mobile , but i guess there is no perfect plan in malaysia.
