Males are very aggressive and will fight each other to the death.
- A male will vibrate its tail rapidly when it sees another gecko; if the other gecko vibrates its tail in the same fashion, each of them knows contact has been made with another male and they will fight. If, however, a male signals his presence via tail shaking and the other gecko does not respond in like fashion, the male knows that the gecko near him is a female.
- Geckos generally pick one corner of an enclosure to use as a bathroom, which makes it easier to keep clean.
- Geckos in general are thought to bring good luck to the household in which they reside.

___________________________________________________________________________________________________
You could always visit here --- >Leopard Gecko Wiki to know more about Leopard Geckos and their many morphs.

And if you would love to purchase a leopard gecko... you could get from the few breeders around.

Here is the link for our local breeder:
TGS Website
TEG Website

Other forumer breeders around that might have some geckos for sale:
IliekIZ
Bika
AshJ
Ben99
william5799
edwardkhong
eddie88
No_Body
reptiler
Azazel
echosmiles

You could also drop in and ask any of us for information and we will be more than happy to guide you through becoming well informed about Leopard Geckos.

The morphs and possibilities are endless...do join us to know more about this wonderful amazing specimen for a pet.....Cheers*

Have a nice day

Some Gecko Morphs

Previous Version links:
Leopard Gecko Version 1
Leopard Gecko Version 2
Leopard Gecko Version 3
Leopard Gecko Version 4

LEOPARD GECKO (VERSION III)

LYN LG Thread Version 3 - Welcome!

LEOPARD GECKO

The leopard gecko, (Eublepharis macularius), is one of the most commonly kept lizards today. These hardy saurians come in a variety of colors, patterns and sizes. They are a great species for an indoor home pet. Unlike other geckos, Leopard Gecko DOES NOT stick on walls, does not sprint off like lightning when we approach them, they are not aggressive by nature, they have EYE-LIDS which makes them very cool looking and they do have that irresistible smiling look on their faces. Below are some basic information about Leopard Gecko and Link for you to do some intensive further research if you need.

Size
Leopard Gecko are hatched at around 3-4 inches long and on average as an adult they would measure around 8-10 inches.

Life Span
Leopard Gecko can live up to 25 years and some has recorded longer in captivity.

Housing
Leopard Geckos are really easy to care for. Unlike other reptiles Leopard Gecko does not necessary need a very large space to live. They would thrive very well in a 10 gallon tank. The setup is relatively simple.

1. Water Bowl
2. Dish Bowl
3. Calcium Dish Bowl
4. Hide Box
5. Moist Box

Example of a setup:

Diet
We commonly feed our Leopard Geckos with either MEALWORMS, CRICKETS or SUPERWORMS. It is advisable to gutload your feeder insects before feeding it to your Leopard Gecko. These insects are also dusted with calcium powder + D3 and multi-vitamin between the interval of 2-3 days. It is essential to provide them with Calcium, Vitamin D3, Multi-vitamins in order to keep them at their healthiest form.

Mealworms, Crickets and Superworms

Lighting & Temperature
We are blessed here in Malaysia that we are not a cold country, on the other note, Leopard Geckos DO NOT need any form of heating source. Unlike other reptiles, they do need their warm basking spot. Reason to this, other reptiles depend on heat to digest their food. Leopard Gecko do not need those heating lamps or any form of heater (unless they are it a fully air conditioned environment most of the time).

Leopard Geckos are nocturnal creatures.
Leopard Gecko V2

Welcome to Leopard Gecko V2.

Here is the place to ask, to learn and to discover all about Leo's and its Wonders.

Enjoy your stay ... you know you want it.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Why Leopard Geckos?

The Leopard gecko (Eublepharis macularius) is a nocturnal ground-dwelling gecko found in the deserts of Pakistan, northern India, Afghanistan and parts of Iran. They are one of the very few gecko species which possess eyelids and lack toe-pads.

Over the years, due to various reasons, leopard gecko has become established in captivity, particularly in the pet industry. Why you may ask? Well, read on for some of the answers:

Its Size
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

If it is a manageable reptile/lizard you crave, then there are no better reptiles come to mind except for leopard geckos. They stay small, do not grow large and do not defecate like a horse. They don’t require much space and some keepers even keep one or two in a 10-gallon terrarium tank and thrive. They are also designed to defecate at one spot. Such spot is known as the defecatorium. Thus making cleaning easier compared to any other animals.

What does it eat?
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Leopard geckos feed on insects such as mealworms, superworms or crickets, which are not difficult to acquire from your local pet stores or fish shops. They are also cheap or less expensive compared to cat food for cats or even mice to feed snakes.

It's Silent
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Just like most reptiles, leopard geckos stay quiet. They won’t bark like a dog nor trumpet like an elephant. They are hardly noticeable in your home.

Legal Status
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Leopard geckos are not considered as endangered or protected, locally nor internationally. They are NOT listed in the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) nor the Malaysian Wildlife Protection Act (WPA) 1972. Therefore, they are not subjected to any special permits to be kept, bred or sold in most areas except for odd places such as Australia or Singapore.

Colors & Patterns
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

The selective breeding of leopard geckos over the past few decades has created close to 200 morphs (to date of writing). Infact, leopard geckos have become the reptile analog of Koi carp, displaying a wide array of bright colors and patterns that make them premiere examples of living arts (Vosjoli et. al.). Such traits make leopard geckos as favorite reptiles to keep, breed and work with to beginners and advance keepers alike. With the emergence of newer morphs every few years/seasons, leopard geckos will continue to thrive and will remain as the mainstream reptiles in the industry.

Cool Factor
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

With such array of mutations and calm demeanour, leopard geckos are simply cool to look at. Due to the same reasons, they are also highly addictive, just like drugs to a junkie.

The above are just some examples that make leopard geckos to become one of the mainstream reptiles to keep and breed throughout the world for decades. We assure you that there are more than meets the eye concerning this wonderful animal. But in order to know personally, We would suggest you to get one and experience the feeling yourself.

- This write-out is copyright of www.thegeckoshop.com-
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

To know more simply visit
