Guitar received !!! ---- <HERE>

I've been looking for this guitar for months now on internet, and I finally found one ! It was buried for ages in a plain-looking german classified ads website. After some discussions by email, the guy seemed totally legit, the guitar looked just perfect and the price was gooood.

So I took the risk... well, actually, i'm still in the middle of it since the guitar hasn't arrived yet !

Story first, pictures later ... up to you to find out the brand and model

That's a vintage-sounding guitar :

Body : Mahogany
Neck : Mahogany
Pickups : P90
Bridge : Fixed

Made In Japan (model was produced between 96 and 98 only)

Finish : Translucent red (only this one available)

There are other runs of this model from Korea, for half the price and 1/10th of the quality.

I think i gave enough clues already...

(note : What are P90's : those are "big" single coils, which sound lies in between a standard single coil and a humbucker:

i would like to know about freelancing (in engineering) :
- is it possible for a non malaysian ?
- what are the procedures (lots of paperwork ? delay ?)
- what is the amount of taxes, charges, and anything that is deducted from earnings ?

LYN Jam II - final mixdown

ok, let's talk about each other solos here...

at the end of the post, you'll find the latest version of the Jam... but now we have 2 problems
It's Reload ! ---> 1) who's doing the part (7) ? i can't seem to find that out...
2) some solos have been reformated from wav to mp3 to wav so many times it sounds really crappy. Only one shall do all the mixing.

so here's what we could do:

fill up that :
1) xcude *open string tapping*
2) blacktrix *kill switch effect*
3) evo.com *wah wah effect*
4) pix *phaser effect*
5) zeroleet --- not done yet ---
6) led zep *bottleneck*
7) reload *shredder*

and tell me if the quality is acceptable for you, or if we should send all the .WAV solo to one guy, and that guy does all the mp3 mixdown at once. I feel like my part is so much more dynamic and "hi fi" than the others, i feel bad... just because i'm the last one to be on the track... not fair.

And last point : Led Zep / Reload : sort out your own solos... don't mess them up, sounds pretty bad.

Hi there,

Please comment on which style you'd like to play, and whether you're gonna participate. Even if you're not, please tell us what you'd like the players to play on.

Me, or Evo or Led Zep will try to find a suitable track from previous or current guitar techniques issues.

Let's close this topic by friday, to be able post the backtrack before/during the week end.

Reminder : the LYN Jam provides a back track (Drums + Bass + Rythm), in which each participant will have a certain slot (about 30 to 60 seconds), during which he can do whatever he wants (editing, add overdubs, add rythm, EQ, limited to his slot ONLY).

Guitar, keyboards, trumpet, vocals, piano, keyboards, bass, drums... all instruments welcome !!

(please, accept my apologies for the limited choices of "genres", but available backtracks are quite limited) (next time, your genres' suggestion will be taken into account, promise)

Let's ROCK the FUNK out and JAZZ it up till bleeding BLUE METAL will pour over the COUNTRY !

Typically, a Les Paul is a solidbody electric guitar, which means that the wood inside is not hollow and is normally very heavy, thus giving it a "fatter" sound, which is very much sought after by blues and recently, Heavy Metal artists.

Pictured here is a Gibson Les Paul standard. A Les Paul's characteristics is that it has a single cutaway (The part where it got cut-off) body. THere are on occasion a double cut-away Les Paul, but the most familiar Les Paul is the Single Cut away.

The Les Paul usually comes with 2 Humbucker pick-ups, although they can be changed. Note that it also doesn't have a Whammy Bar at the bottom, but rather a tune-o-matic bridge, which is the silver bar, second to the botto. The last bar is appropriately called a Stopbar tailpiece.

Other characteristics that defines the Gibson Les Paul is the pick-up selector switch located on the upper-left side of the body, and the 4 knobs at the bottom right, which are 2 for tone, and 2 for volume.
