Need advice on buying my 1st distortion pedal

Hi there fellow musician.. \m/

I just started playing guitar bout a year ago. All this while been using the distortion from my line 6 spider 3 amp.. planning on trying out pedals as me n my band now have started performing on some small occasion now n then. As for that matter, i always got prob during soundcheck as i can't get the distort sound that suit the song that i'm playing. Basically I'm a rhythmist in the band and we play japanese punk & japanese rock (Jpunk @Jrock). I prefer on a rich and warm bright distortion sound & not so metallic kind of distort. Been introduce by a friend of mine bout the Boss pedals. He recommends me to get either the DS-1 or DS-2 model as they kinda suit on a general rock and provide basic distortion. And here i am as a complete noob in this area asking help about this matter.. i did research bout both pedals, still can't decide which one would be the best bang for the money.. i know there a lot other brand of pedals out there, but i have no idea which one is better.. please share your experience if u tried any of those pedals before and also recommends me on which to go for it..

thank you very much

regards,

owma,

*p/s - btw, i'm currently using Epiphone Les Paul Special II GT guitar... (just for reference)

Need Help In Deciding LCD Upgrade

Hi to all fellow sifus here.

I need help upon this dilemma that i'm facing right now. Currently i'm using Samsung 2333sw lcd. Been using it for like 6 month already & its been serving me very well. The only downside about this lcd that i dont really like is the position of the power button. It is situated on the right side of the lcd which is quiet hidden to reach. Few days ago went to a pc shop and found out about samsung latest model P2350 & the P2370. Both model got much better improvement over my current model in terms of its Dynamic Contrast, response time & best of all the power setting button is situated infront with active touch capabilities. But some of say, the improvement wont be that obvious from my current one.. The price range are quite reasonable i should say. The problem is, whether is it worth enough for me to upgrade my current lcd to the latest one which is Either P2350 or P2350? Or should i stick with my current lcd? Do help me out here

Here are the links for the lcd specs.

Samsung 2333SW (my current lcd)
Samsung P2350 (might consider this for an upgrade)
Samsung P2370 (nice design n slimmer but need to pay more)

Thank you.

Regards,
Owma.

Before this i'm using P4 3.2ghz northwood. as i upgrade to P4 EE, my pc seems unstable already. the prob is whenever i wanna play games, it'll last for only less than 1 minutes. then got blue screen with some writing then auto restart. at first i thought it was the proc prob, then i tried it on my friends mobo who happens to be using kinda same spec as mine. the proc works fine on my friends rig. i google around to search for an answer then came across to prime95. they say using this app u can detect hardware problem. i tried on my pc and yes there is a hardware failure. but which one is the problem i dunno. I attached screen shot of the test. hope u guys who got knowledge in this can help me. thx a million.

*p/s - sori for my bad english, very noob in this matter:)[attachmentid=780802]
