Modifying the Xbox360... How to keep using Live?

Hi,

I recently bought a modified xbox360. Along with this, i bought a few original games and a few other ones (mainly coz i wanted to try them out and chances are, not like them and put them aside forever)...

To be clear, the purpose of the modified xbox was primarily o make copies of the games i bought.

I learnt however that despite having original games, i won't be able to use the xbox on Live, and therefore not be able to use multiplayer.

Assuming that microsoft knows if your xbox has had a firmware change, i started looking for modchips that do not require firmware hacks, and found a few options for modchips that do not require a firmware flash and automatically switch off when i am online...

Now my question is basically, can i get a modified Xbox returned to its original state, and then modify it with a chip sourced on my own to allow me to play back up games whilst simultaneously allowing me to play online with the original games. I am no electrical engineer so the process of modding is somewhat beyond me.

But as i find that my original game discs stop working after a little while (i found this out with the previous xbox and ps2), i want to be able to backup the games i buy..

In any case, any opinions would be much appreciated...

Thanks.

Regards,

Pars.
