According to Malaysia's Wills Act 1959, we can write our own will as long as we meet the following criterias:
- At least 18 years old
- Be of sound mind
- Have the will signed by you and two witnesses

While it is true that we can draft our own will at no cost, why still many people choose to engage an online platform or a lawyer?

Is DIY Will valid and complies fully with legal requirements?

I dont see any additional benefits to let service providers to do will writing since they do not offer safekeeping of the original will. Why we still need to pay them to do will writing? For Basic Will, usually they will charge RM20-400, and for Advance Will it costs RM300-1000.

Windscreen insurance coverage

My honda city bought last year 2025 and the insurance is going to expire soon. Can you advise if it is recommended to add windscreen insurance? The Windscreen Damage sum insured RM2000 will cost about RM300. Is it windscreen is something that very easy to damage? I always driving on highway an dmy mileage now is 24000km within 1 year. Under what conditions we can claim windscreen damage?

I might get a new job offer from another department within same company. It's a Fortune 500 company that i'm currently working at. I have worked there for 3.5 years and I did apply to a new position and different role which better matched to my current skillsets and past experience, it's higher job grade - a level higher than my current, I get shortlisted for interview and get through it.

Now waiting for things to be finalised, and I expect HR to offer me with a compensation package in the next few days. For cases like this, how much % increase in salary would make sense for you to jump normally? If i request for 30-40% more than current salary, would it be too much?

FYI, i have a total of 19 years working experience. Out of the total, I have 8 years working in Fortune 500 companies which are into similar role.

I'm currently still using Huawei Mate 20 and has been using for 6 years (Bought RM2688 in Nov 2018). I very like the camera and photo quality due to it is using Leica system. Mate 20 is a good phone in term of camera quality, perfomance and battery life span. I'm now looking for another camera phone for a replacement but not going for Huawei brand due to no Google services. Any other recommendation? My budget is within RM2500.

What if your tenant doesn't pay rent?

My house rented to a Malay family since 1 October 2024 and collected the first month rental payment + 1 month security deposit + utility deposit. Now into November and he supposed to pay the second month rental, I have been chasing him to pay it before 7th November, but he keep saying "Sorry due to busy of work and forgot to pay, and he was in Terengganu to attend meeting", "He will do bank in once he nearby the bank", etc.

In the agreement, i actually stated that montly rental must be paid by 7th of the month but till now i still not yet getting rental from him.

What can I do as a landlord? Any other way to force him to pay rental?

I rented house to a tenant but I just found out that tenant break the tenancy agreement. He made alterations and partitions to premises without written consent to me (owner) and windows, locks were damaged purposely (not wear and tear), and also made modifications to original wiring in order to steal electric from TNB. The tenancy is for 2 years contract but it's now into 2nd month. What should I do as a landlord? Can i sue him under Distress Act 1951 (Act 255) since the tenant break the tenancy agreement? If yes, where should i go to approach a Judge or Registrar to issue a warrant of distress?

I will install 316 stainless steel invisible grill. Stainless steel has many grade 410, 306 and 316. Only 316 won't rust, is that true? How can i can know they are using 316 stainless steel?

What is different between Nylon vs Teflon coating? Heard that Nylon is less resistant to UV (sunlight) and will turn into yellowish after few years but in terms of durability and strength, both are the same. Is that true?
