I just bought a second hand Hyundai Elantra XD 1.8L (2002 Model), I've gotten a quotation from a workshop for the parts that need to be replaced. He quoted me about 5.9k for everything original parts plus servicing, oil etc, whereas if it's a mixture of OEM and "normal" parts (I'm assuming he meant like local made parts or something) will cost about slightly over 3k.

Honestly I didn't expect to repair at even 3k, let alone 6k, so I was obviously freaked out and told him I'll go around to survey.

Do you guys think it's worth using everything original parts or it's fine to just use OEM and "normal" parts? Does anyone have recommendation for workshop that does the job well and doesn't charge a bomb?

Bank pull back loan offer

Hi everyone, I'm currently in such situation where I am applying for house loan, while at the same time switching job. Thus far almost every banks approve my application, but I heard some banks will call and check again right before disbursement, which I'm afraid by then they'll find out that I am no longer in the company and pull back the offer as a result of that.

Does anyone know which bank is less strict on that? I currently have offers from MBB, CIMB, UOB, Alliance, they are the panel banks that I can use.

Mortgage Loan Interest Rate

Hi everyone, I've just got approval from a bank and the salesperson just sent me a draft Letter of Offer. I am however extremely concern about a particular clause which I think is completely lopsided.

- BLR -2.4% subject to a minimum of 4.2% per annum on daily rests.

So based on my understanding of this clause, if one day Bank Negara increase the interest rate from the current 6.6% to 7.0%, I'll have to pay 4.6% interest per annum, fair enough. However, if the Bank Negara decrease the interest rate to 6.0%, instead of paying 3.6% interest per annum, I'll still have to pay 4.2% interest per annum due to the clause above, isn't that right?

Is this a standard clause that every bank applies or is it just this bank?

PC keep rebooting

My PC is a E2140 Intel 1.6GHz, done BSEL mod before, using BioStar G31 Mobo (don't remember exactly which model), I'm assuming either one of them can't take it anymore, and just keeps rebooting even if I run at stock settings (1.6GHz@200MHz x 8), so bad to the point that I'm underclocking it right now while increase the voltage. Even that, it's not 100% stable.

I am sick of this, however I'm not sure it's the Mobo or Processor problem(I'm assuming it's either 1 of them) and I do not have the time, resources etc to test it out to find out which is the culprit.

Therefore, I am going to take a bet, which is to buy either a new Mobo or Processor, but just wanna find out from experienced forumer here, which one more likely is the culprit.

What do you guys think?

PC auto-reboot or crash

Recently I have problem with my PC.My pc might just keep auto reboot or crash when I switch on the pc for the first time of the day.This will go on and on until a certain period(which I think the PC have warmed up)then it will stop crashing.

I've used several things to test ( IntelBurnTest,ATITool Artifact test ),it seems that my pc will crash regardless of how low I underclock my graphics card during the artifact test,but IntelBurnTest work perfectly fine even in overclocked mode.

Does that mean my graphics card is screwed and I need to change a new one?

Have you called your ISP's helpline?: yea,but damn useless.they say they can't teach how to configure router.

Problem details
First occurence of problem: just can't connect to the internet,stuck at "connecting to pppoe(wan)"apparently cannot use this modem to just plug in and connect like conventional modem.

Problem description: i just wanna know how to connect to the internet,i'm not sharing connection.

graphics card problem

i just bought an ati x800gto2 from another forumer.due to my psu not having the 6 pin pci-e cable,i've bought a converter and it looks like below:

my pc will freeze few seconds later when the artifact scanner in atitool starts running,and it will freeze at "video card stability test"program from freestone group.3dmark 2006 also crash b4 even the test.but,i don't experience any problem playing dota.i'm wondering what's the problem,could it be insufficient power?or is there anything wrong with the cable?because i notice the 6 pin pci-e head only three holes are filled with wires and another three holes are empty.

my pc specs are as below:

gigabyte 965p-ds3

i don't think a 500w psu would have supplied insufficient power to this graphics card,isn't it?besides,the graphics card is equipped with some zalman hsf,the temperature is only 45C idle.

is there any problem with this cable?out of the 6 holes,only 3 are connected to the 4 pin molex,the other 3 holes are empty.

I've just changed to X800GTO2,the extra 4 pipelines are already unlocked.I cannot seem to run the ATITOOLS artifact scanner thing,nor can I try to find out my max core or max temp,my system will freeze.I am wondering does that mean insufficient power supplied to the graphics card?Does that have anything to do with the converter cable?thanks.

for example,bios will tell you the cpu temperature is 55C,but in windows,speedfan or coretemp will give you both cores' readings,which are like 40-45C.
Though,speedfan has another temperature reading says "Temp2"which i have no idea what's that,but i believe it has the same reading as the bios "cpu temperature",the 55C one.So,which is the real processor temperature?

About January this year,this girl from my class had suddenly been seemingly showing interest towards me,in the sense that everyone thinks that she likes me,due to the way she treat me compared to other guys or girls.I tried not to be bothered with it due to an incident that happened like a month ago that makes me think that she's a "retard,sohai,idiot,whatever".After a while,I realized that I am starting to fall for her,unfortunately,but did not dare to proceed further,just going with the flow,because she was and still is having a boyfriend,which makes me wonder what the hell went wrong,she has a boyfriend isn't it,so what is she try to do with me?

Basically,we sms'ed everyday,usually from day to night,msn-ing too.The point here is that,most of the time,if not all,she took the initiative,like sms-ing me first,or greeting me first in msn.She was even giving me signals like "I need a shoulder to lean against,you lend me your's ya..."(but did not really do it eventually) or "Let's spend time together in this coming valentine's" in front of everybody that kind of thing,or calling me names like (for example,tan tan,in this case,tan is a surname).I mean,this is definitely not "just-a-friend" kind of thing,unless she just enjoy fooling around,which I do not think so based on how much I know about her.(which is not much,but still it's unlikely)

So,right now,it's been about 2 weeks,and she does not sms me anymore.It's has been back to the original state where we are just normal friends(before she started "seemingly showing interest" towards me).Even if I tried to sms her,90% of the time she doesn't reply.(Not that I keep sms-ing her to annoy her,throughout this 2 weeks i probably sent 5 msgs to her)

According to her friendster(don't laugh,and don't ask me why she's using frienster instead of facebook),she added like about 80+ extra photos of she and her boyfriend,probably ever since she started ignoring my sms'es.She did have some problems with her boyfriend during the period where we sms everyday,but i don't know for how long and how serious their problem was.

What I am thinking now,is that she probably had some interests on me,but unfortunately due to myself not taking any actions(it's my nature,plus I knew she has a boyfriend,so I don't know whether it's right to do or not,or whether I was thinking too much or not,bla bla).Eventually,she gave up on me and hence the current situation occurs.Another possibility would be,she was having problems with her boyfriend,and she took me as a temporary solution.Now that they probably are in good terms,she does not need me anymore,thus I'm dumped aside.

I know I'm dumb,and probably always will be,in these kind of things.
