Really slow HDD performance

Hi guys,

My laptop been running fine on Windows 8 all the time, but lately my HDD been showing 100% activity all the time and my laptop is totally unusable.

Symptoms:
> Slow HDD transfer speed
> opening a page in Chrome takes 1min~2min
> Windows explorer takes forever to open etc etc.

After googling around, it seems like it have something to do with the superfetch or Background intelligent transfer services. I disabled it and it seems to speed up the system a little bit..

Not for long though.

After a while the problem is back and I formatted my laptop. Still the same thing occurred after ~20 minute of usage, so Virus/Malware is out of the equation. I also suspected my HDD is dying so I did a chkdsk and various HDD tools to check the health status. By the end of the testing, no bad sectors are found.

My question here would be, is it positive that my HDD is dying?

Introduction
Announced at Nokia's Remix event in London, at the beginning of October 2008, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic is a mid-range, music focused phone, running S60 5th Edition on Symbian OS 9.4, with a 3.2 megapixel camera, integrated GPS, WiFi and HSDPA connectivity, and a 3.2 inch touch screen. It's the last item on this feature list which draws attention to what would otherwise be a fairly standard mid range phone. There's no doubt that it is going to garner attention, coming in the wake of the recent spate of touch phones, including, of course, the Apple iPhone. While it's not Nokia's first touch phone (Nokia 7700/7110) or its first recent touch device (Nokia N810), it is the first S60 touch enabled phone and is a significant landmark in Nokia's mobile device story. However, it is worth noting from the start that it is not "Nokia's touch phone", instead it is the first in a portfolio of touch enabled phones from Nokia. From firmware V20.0.012 onwards, the 5800's CPU clock was increased from 369MHz to 434MHz matching the N97 specification. However, improved overall performance can be observed at firmware V30.

On August 2009, Nokia announced a new variant named Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition. In addition to the normal Nokia 5800 it has the latest version of Ovi Maps pre-installed, loaded with a lifetime license of drive and walk navigation (which otherwise requires subscription on the non-Navigation Edition 5800). It also comes with a car charger and car kit inside the box.

Need help seriously! I need to know how to go to Bukit Bintang by RapidKL from Titiwangsa Terminal.
I dont prefer monorail as its darn expensive and it will be a burden if I dont found any alternative ways to get there.
So far I knew I can get there by U27,U31 U32 U44 U45 U46 U47 U48.

HD 4670 or HD 3850?

As my 8600Gt just toasted and I am in need of a new graphic card that are better than 8600GT yet not to consume too much of power.
So far i spotted HD4670 and HD3850. Both are quite affordable for my budget and i would like to get 1 asap.
So i wonder whether my mobo and PSU can support both of the cards?
My budget is around RM250 ~ 330.

So far from pricelist from Cycom
Asus EAH4670 512DDR3 - 315

PC Zone

As I am not too familiar with ATi cards, i hope that those who are owning these cards can give me some opinions. Thanks.

Hi guys, I am helping my friend to assemble a CPU
The budget is around 2.1k+-

I helped him to get 1 with the following specs. I had already bought the PC

[Need Help] Computer Freezes

This problem happens when i playing DMC 4.....
My computer somehow freezes every 1 sec for 4 times.....

Last time when i encountered this problem is during last year....it is actually caused by....
Wireless network card..but somehow the prolem solved itselves.
It freezes my pc when the network card is trying to detect a connection...

Is it the same problem again or its my OS?[I just reformatted to Vista Ultimate 32-bit last few days...the previous OS is XP SP3..so far so good]
This is the performance after i closed DMC 4....

Ok, this morning i went to school for SPM trial paper......

When i m home i found out tht my PC is been infected by a trojan named Dialer [I think so]
Tht trojan locked all the antivirus tools, computer mantainence tools and even Task manager...
So the culprit tht make those mess is my sister.....cz she the only 1 at home this morning

So i used avast! and managed to clear the virus through boot scan
but after i rebooted....most of the tools are recovered execpt task manager.
It says there "Task Manager has been disabled by your adminstrator"
So how m i supposed to recover the task manager?
Help needed....
