Sonoff RF Bridge

I hope I'm positing in the right section.

I recently installed an autogate at home with 433MHz remotes. Wanted to integrate them to my phone (no need to carry the remote around) using Sonoff RF Bridge R2.

I was able to pair to the device but when it comes to learning the remote code, it failed. I confirmed my remote is 433MHz. The Sonoff is also 433Mhz. But they don't seems to talk.

Anyone experience this issue?

Gaming Laptop - which to buy?, AMD vs Intel

I'm planning to get a new laptop for home use. Since I also work from home, I have an office laptop as well.

Currently, I have a workspace which is both my personal and office space. I have a dual FHD/1080p screen (old man don't need 4K) and kb/mouse setup. I have a Surface dock so that I could easily switch between by personal and office laptop (both Surface).

I feel that my personal laptop is getting very slow and would like to upgrade to a gaming laptop for performance. Therefore, I'll be buying a TB3/4 dock so that I'm not tied to another Surface again.

What would you guy choose? An Intel or AMD laptop? Aka, do I need TB?

Intel
- Freaking expensive
- Comes with TB3/4 depends on model.

AMD
- Better performance-cost ratio. Aka, cheaper laa.
- Does not support TB.

With dual screen, do I need the TB bandwidth to make the best out of the 3070 GC? Or should I just play it save and wait for USB4 to be available on laptops?

Note: I don't use the laptop screen. So, I don't care about the aspect ratio, size, etc.

I've been working in an MNC overseas for 5 years now. I'm about to collect my last vested joining shares. (For those who work in mega MNCs would know the significance of the vested shares and the 5th year). These share total to 6-figures RM.

After a few years of speed bumps in the department, I'm finally happy with my team now. I have supportive colleagues and a great boss.

I've been looking out and a competitor is willing to hire me. Same-ish position/level. New joining bonuses. Reputation the competitor work culture is not great - in fact, not good.

To stay or jump?

Stay: great working environment (until next reorg la). Just draw the usual salary.

Jump: unknown work environment. But much more money (for the next 5 years).

Thoughts?

Surface Laptop Gen1 Battery replacement

As per topic, anyone successfully replace their Surface Laptop Gen1 battery?

Update - 2020-07-07:
Unlike the disaster that happen to ifixit, I manage to successfully removed the keyboard today. Now, going to celebrate. Tomorrow only I try to remove the motherboard.

Update - 2020-07-09:
Successfully removed the batteries. Now the laptop basically function like a desktop. Need to be connected to power source to work.

Update - 2020-07-12:
Found a replacement battery at laptopbattery.com.my. Placed an order and now waiting for delivery.

Hooligan doctor

Was having dinner at a hawker stall in Taman Muda market area. That road is designated for traders in the day (wet market) and hawkers at night - not parking spots. Tables are set along the road.

Then came along a doctor, and demand the hawker to remove the table as she wants to park in front of her clinic. She honk like it is her right. She was obviously ignored. She came down, like a hooligan, trashed the place. Literally push the table a side, throw the chairs away - and park like a boss.

Money could buy her a doctorate but not common sense. Doctors are respectable - she is detestable.

Park like a boss, storm out of the car, threatening to call the police.
