It turns out now Maggi is selling Tom Yam Kaw instant noodle. For oldfag who wants to reminisce the delightful taste of the old recipe can try this one. 2 inch can also try see what you have been missing out on. Paste > powder

I give it 8.5/10. The noodle is different compared to last time. Tom Yam flavour is same as before albeit less spicy.

Hi /k,

Come help me. I am going to Europe son. I want to know about the best way to spend money there without being charged with numerous transaction fees @ currency exchange fees and so on. I am mainly want to use my money in MYR in Maybank savings account and change it to cash EUR to buy things. So ATM withdrawal is needed.

1st option: Directly use Maybank Debit card
Fees:
- O/sea ATM fee RM12
- Expensive currency conversion
- Any other fee?

2nd option: Bigpay.
Fees:
- O/sea ATM fee RM10
- Currency Conv. fee (network charge - how much is this?)
- Anything else?

Pros: can topup with CC

3rd option: Wise
Fees:
- O/sea ATM fees free for first 2 withdrawal below RM1000, else RM5. If more than RM1000, charge 1.75%
- Conversion rate (seems very good) no fee

Cons: CC topup will be considered as cash advance? Need someone to confirm this.

Need help from kind Bukit Mertajam folks. I want to ride ETS from BM to KL Sentral. I am planning to take grab from my location early
in the morning but I doubt there will be grab at my area 6am. Therefore, my contingency plan is to ride to the ktm station with my car and park there. So, I would like to know whether there is any free@cheap parking spot at that area?

Edit: called KTM and they say their parking will cost ~4 per day. Need to put max 2 weeks. So more than 50.

If got per entry parking even better.

Update 9/6: asked for salary adjustment. Got declined due to company isn't practising off cycle adjustment. at least I know where I stand

[DIY #1] Come see. My RM150 Robot Vacuum Repair

So my house is quite dusty and have lots of lizard shit. I am getting tired of manual vacuuming. So I go shopee to look for cheap robot vacuum. But all so expensive. The cheapo sub Rm100 one is basically a toy with a puny vacuum. Useless. So with a very small budget, I look for a faulty @ problematic unit from mudah, carousell and garage sales. Lucky me, there was one faulty unit up for sale for RM150 from carousell. The model is Deebot M88. This thread serve as a general troubleshooting and repair guide for this model and maybe applicable to other model as well. For my case, the error is due to anti drop sensor (right side) giving 7 beeps.

1. On the vacuum and press the auto button to run the vacuum.

2. Use phone camera and check whether drop sensor is lighting up or not. You need camera for this as it is IR sensor.
Front sensor is ok

I tested to simulate the led by tembak my TV remote on the sensor and the alarm disappear. So confirmed dy this is the culprit
I also checked the other sensor as well just in case

3. In my case, right sensor is the culprit. It turns out, the led is not getting any voltage from the board. So I piggyback power from front sensor (yellow and black wire) and robot is now functioning normally. No picture as did the repair at 2am.

4. Now it is ok
