Hey guys,

Just wondering if the following means the GPU is reaching its end or is it some other hardware or software issues?

Attached is an image of a Powerpoint slide and the artifact is present in desktop too, well basically that's how it would show once pass the DOS loading screen.

Btw, it booted into Windows OK until I installed the latest Nvidia Driver for the GPU then I get BSoD.
I would then need to boot into safe mode and remove the Nvidia Driver, then Windows boots OK again.

It's happening to my EVGA GTX 470 on a desktop PC

Appreciate any input/help.

Thanks.

[attachmentid=4137904]

Would anyone provide insight whether which is more better and/or more reliable, especially in terms of coverage signal.

Main use will be on voice calls (Data would be a plus)

Any idea if Celcom data is based on pay-per-use or speed cap upon reaching the quota?

Thanks in advance guys.

[Help] Belkin Warranty W/O Receipt

Greetings all,

I've a Belkin modem/router which failed on me recently. Luckily it came with lifetime warranty. Thus, I'd like to know if there's any possible way to claim warranty from Belkin as I've lost the receipt (modem/router was bought some 3-5 years ago, and I recall being told no receipt was required for any warranty then ).

Called the Belkin helpline and their technical support just put me 'on hold'...like forever. So any help or suggestions on the matter would be much appreciated.

Thank you all for attending to my minor if not trivial matter

[Help] Startup problem

Greetings all gurus,

I've got this problem for a while now and even though I've resolved it couple of times previously. It's getting worse I believe hence I need some advice on what's the problem and perhaps a remedy to it.

Pc (Data from CPUz & Everest):
-Intel P4 2.8 MHz
-MSI Neo2-PS (MS6728 v2.0)
-PowerColor ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 128 MB
-512 MB DDR PC3200 CL3 (M3 68L6523CUS-CCC) @ 200 MHz : 3.0-3-3-8 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS) / @ 166 MHz : 2.5-3-3-7 (CL-RCD-RP-RAS)

Problem:
-Unable to boot up properly at times
-Unable to run dual channel anytmore

Error Message (from startup):
-DRAM timing is too tightly so reload timing...
-CMOS settings wrong (run setup/default setting - once only whereby I chose the latter default setting)

Solution (Temporary):
-RAM slot swapping (trial & error until it works)

---------------------------
Here's the scenario:

Previously, I did a spring cleaning which involved moving around things a lil but I've made sure to place the CPU away properly before moving it to where I desire. Unfortunately, the system fails to boot up.

At first, it gave a beep and shows the MSI logo startup screen then it hung and would not startup again after hitting the reset button for a reboot. No beeping sound either, just signs of the system trying to boot up but unable to since the optical drive keeps flashing.

After a few tries with no avail, I resorted to removing the RAMs (channel 1 - dual channel [slot 1&3]) and insert it into other slots (channel 2 - dual [slot 2&4]). It worked fine.

The real problem came when I again moved the CPU and this time it won't boot up despite my effort in swapping the RAMs. Frustrated, I then removed one of the identical RAMs and it worked again surprisingly. This time I'm running at single channel since it's just 1 stick in a slot [slot 2].

Thinking it was perhaps the other ram was faulty. I used the pc just fine until I shut down properly. It would not boot up again the next day . Removed the RAM and replaced it with the previously removed ram to another slot [slot 4] and it worked again.

Oh, I do get error message sometimes when I boot up. The 2 error message that I get during startup was:
-DRAM timing is too tightly so reload timing...
-CMOS settings wrong (run setup/default setting - once only whereby I chose the latter default setting)

Despite the error messages, the system boot up fine. However, I do need to keep doing trial & error with the RAM slots in order to get it startup each time I shut it down. It gets so frustrating I dare not shutdown my pc nor tinker with the RAMs anymore.
---------------------------

Please advice on a fix for it.

Thanks.

Raid ?

Hi,

I recently bought a new optical drive in order to properly read some of the dvds I bought as my previous optical drives kept reading em as blank disc, it's too old apparently. However, the optical I just bought (samsung writemaster) comes in a SATA interface and I'm not too sure on how to get it to work as my pc detected it as RAID but can't seem to install the driver for it.

Anyway, here is the setup of my current pc system:

Mobo : MSI Neo2 865PE PFISR
IDE 0 : DVD drive (old)
IDE 1 : 250GBGB HDD
SATA 0 : DVD drive (Samsung writemaster)
SATA 1 : -

As you can see I have 2 IDE ports and 2 SATA ports with BIOS set to run "PATA+SATA".

I've did some search online and some say running IDE and SATA together can cause a conflict and recommended RAID, tho I'm not too sure on that. It's also noted that im running on SATA 1 port, not SATA 2 but I doubt that's the problem.

Thanks for any help in advance.
