Anyone got the same problem with me?

Everytime I do bandwidth test the speed is fine. At least 70% of my total allocated bandwidth. BT is also fine. I got 20-30kb/s for 1 file and up to 70-80kb/s for multi files.

But, my surfing speed is extremely slow. I've never had a smooth video played in youtube.com b4. My download speed at download.com is about 5-6kb/s only. eventhough i use flashget, the speed only reach 10k at max. is that something wrong with my line? or they sort of capped my download speed? but how come my BT is ok?

Problem that bothers me for months!

I'm sharing my internet with my housemate. I always get very slow connection because he uses Bit torrent 24/7! He's only paying 30% of the bill but he almost sucked up all the speed. I'm going to find a solution that can limit his bandwidth.

I heard there's a feature called QoS with WRT54G can do the tricks. So I bought one last week and ended up knowing that it is a V5. Sad The standard linksys QoS couldn't work at all! After googling I realize that DD-WRT firmware is the only solution.

I sold this piece of crap to my friend with half the price and bought another WRT54GS V4. After upgraded to DD-WRT, I immediately play with the QoS.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE? All I want to do is to limit his bandwidth to says 256kbps. I only can set the priority and his BT still sucked up my speed.

So here's my question:

I have a 1024/512 broadband and I want to limit my housemate's bandwidth to 256/128. I have his MAC address. Can the DD-WRT QoS do the trick?

If it's not possible, can I block him from using BT software? (Only I can use Bit Torrent).

Confirmed: http://www.tm.net.my/html/htm/product_stre...ckage/index.asp

I heard from a streamyx reseller that Streamyx is going to have this promotion for their 1mb package. You have to sign up for 2 years and monthly subscription fees is RM77/mth plus a free ADSL modem. Sounds like a good deal. Can anyone confirm this?
