Hi there, I'm need some advice regarding on the ecommerce business in Malaysia. Currently I'm work as sales person for a freight forwarding company. My company target is to look into ecommerce business by providing logistic service in this industry.

My concern is that this is something very new to me and I'm have no idea how to find the customer and to provide service to them as my company more into freight forwarding business.

By looking into it, I'm feel it is much easier if I'm can find Overseas e-commerce's company that want to open service in Malaysia since we had to right Service by providing clearance and distribution service.

Guy and gals, really need advice and idea if anyone know any sales lead or some introducee that I'm can start with .it would be helpful for me and good experience for me to get to know more about e commerce industry in Malaysia.

Hi Guys,

Need consultation and which company you think is worth to go

1. Choice A: Company CJGLS
Pros:
-Offer 3.8k Hanphone allowance RM 100.00, Mileage claimable, Indoor job, No target just do operation job
-As Assistant seafreight operation manager. The big manager said mayb can go up to RM 6k
-If i'm can perform in this company, will be promoted to seafreight operation manager. Is a golden opportunity for me for working in managerial level
-Bonus probably 1-2 months

Cons:
-they need the people desperately and can offer high pay
-job turnover very high including managerial level due to stress
-sat alternate
-korean company and dealing with samsung business. However my function will base local customer and not samsung
-Mostly high post hold by Indian staff and the big manager like to twist tongue (This what my ex staff at cj told me)
-lots of work and pressure. Noted some staff work only few years then resign. Reason: Can't stand

2. Choice B: JTI
-Offer 3.3k as purchaser, medical benefit, 14 days on-leave, cigarette allowance RM 44.00 per months, after completing 1 year contract bonus guarantee offer 2.5months
-Very stable company, 5 days working

Cons:
-Not guarantee permanent job but depend on performance
-When interview, the purchaser manager asked lots of crazy question just like reality game show. Really hurting question tough. Have to work under this guy
-The manager people there is too pride with their company and they want people who are really committed and consistent
-bind by contract
-Not sure whether the staff there is friendly since this is international company and hire staff by attitude screening. Just afraid all being too proud and they mostly do all the talking and not working

I'm must give answer by next Monday. Anyhow the current company i'm work for come with lot of cons
-Work as sales exec Basic RM 2.8k Allowance: RM 400
-since my line is freight forwarding, I've to fight for target for commission. But the market now is too competitive until have to fight for cheap price
-Not stable and worry
-Coordinator staff very lousy and customer keep complaining
-I have to do delivery job and dispatch job due to company consist short of staff
-The boss want to keep his assistant manager until now and we now that she got mental problem and not qualified to be assistant manager

Anyhow i'm going to be MIA with this company since the boss don't want to accept my resignation letter. Mostly they can do is just terminate me. But i'm will send him a show cause letter by email. The boss know i'm can work and i do bring some local customer to him. But the situation is not giving me a good factor to work with them and hardly can survive due to limited claim and have to go out to do more sales. Is already proven not a single sales man work there for long. I'm a operation and i'm just hanging around at this company for salary due to i'm can't get a job for 2 weeks. However I really do quite okay in sales dept for this co.

Start Courier Business?

I got big headache now. Actually my company is Korean based and dealing with freight forwarding. The Korean HQ got some funny plan to do courier business at Malaysia and my Boss ask me some proposal whether can work out at Malaysia here or not. I'm need some of your advice who got experience in this line

1) How many local courier service at peninsular Malaysia
2) How many big courier company at Malaysia like DHL, UPS
3) What are the requirement to set up a courier company at peninsular Malaysia?
4) Is it profitable to perform such courier business? What are the margin look like.

Need some help lar bro.

[addedon]September 18, 2009, 9:11 pm[/addedon]I'm feel that Purchasing Job deal mostly with MRP & shipping docs. What make thing worse there are so many certificate and permit that need to apply from government board.

I'm knew that some permit can be applied online. You make surprise that payment for permit application is paid at some goverment dept which limited number of application only at a time.

Logistic Jobs - Stress + Pressure?

I'm found this jobs is the worse job i ever come across in my life.

Everything comprises of scope co-ordinating, sales, customer service, and even have to do costing and billing.

Lots of communication breakdown and what make thing worse, i had to do all the job from a to z. I never come across any of this field can work in peace.

Can tell ya experience especially in this line.
