Hi, i'm 26 years old this year, male, just started working around 1.5 years ago in Singapore.
Good Health condition with clean medical background.
The reason why i post up this topic is because i'm looking for a suitable plan for myself.
For long term plan, i will be working in Singapore at least for the next 10 years. Probably back to malaysia after that.

I met up few agents and was offered different plan, including the classic insurance plan and investment link, the quotation they gave me drawed according to my financial capability and risk - Rm250k (sum ) - around 670/month (around 8k/annum), including 36 chronic illness (classic plan)
The other agent quoted me a 500k investment link policy - which require me to pay around 12k/annum.. (cash component bonus - tied with the amount cash i pay after 14 years -prediction)

This is my situation:
1) working in Singapore , looking for a policy which covers over singapore area.
2) I'm earning around Rm10k/month,
3) minimal cover for chronic disease as i have good access to healthcare service (i'm working in healthcare group and my medical coverage is good as long as i'm in the group, which likely to be lifetime until i die)
4) mainly focus- life/Permanent disability coverage - to cover for a small delta just in case i suddenly Kong liao...

Most insurance agents are very impressive in the sense of showing a schedule of return of investment and how the so called " saving" growth with time, but i understand in real world, the amount of return is unpredictable, and we have to pay for our protection...there's no free lunch in this world, and there's no such thing as guarantee 8% return because you'll nvr know what will happened 30-40 years down the road. (when i'm around 60's)

40 years ago, my dad bought an insurance policy worth around 10k, (10k , 40 years ago was quite a lot ), it was a classic plan like a saving plan...u can get back when you're old...
so, here comes 40 years later , 10 k is nothing now a days because of the inflation...and because of the underlying T&C, after all the managament fund deduction and everything, he barely get back 5-6k...
as i believe 40 years down the road, same thing will happen again ...
I can make good use of the extra money for other investment.

pls advice me on above matter and quote me a suitable plan

Acer 6935G

Recently, many buyers come and asked me about the latest 6935G specification.

some told me that they got 6935G with 9500GS... this raised my alarm because as far as i remember,
6935G was released with 9600GT (asia) and 9650GS( europe/asia) version.

but if it comes with a 9500GS, i suspect the local vendors changed the stickers and sell it as 6935G. Because there's a lot of stock left over for 6920G. Being unable to sell out the rest of the stocks, they have no choice but to swap the processors...hopefully, able to cheat some buyers to buy this "lower end" version of 6935G.

but remember, what's special about 6935G is not just the P8600 processor, it's the graphic performance which is double it's speed of 9500GS.

If you accidently bought a 6935G with a 9500GS, i really felt sorry, but you can try complain to the shop which sell the shop to you..
i've seen it with my own eyes, they are selling Rm4499 for this so called 6935G model in lowyat and here...in Forum.

So, i hope those 6935G fans be a bit more careful when you buy this model. CHECK the VRAM properly!! Don;t just look at the sticker at the palm rest. It could be a fake 6935G.
if possible, bring a pendrive with GPU-Z to confirm.

that's not the only thing, check the CPU as well, i've seen some people swap the CPU to P8400...

A guide to enable Line In audio direct to Speaker

Several users asked me about how to enable the line In function in vista mode.
not like the old WinXP and old machines where we usually have 3 x 1/8 jack (Mic, Line iN and audio Out), some later version laptop has actually combine both the Mic and Line In into one jack.
some people might confuse because in the older days, they used to hear they own voice directly from speakers once they connect their mic...
but not in the Vista mode, because Microsoft Vista has a bug ,
thus, same things happens for those users who wish to line In their Ipod, Zen or other audio device to the laptop and hears nothing...
this is because the direct speaker out was disable.

and thanks to our freelance debuggers, there's a solution for it.

Well, I found the following (below) created the Settings/ Filter/ SpeakerHp keys, and entered the new binary variable 'EnableInputMonitor' w/ a value of '01', thing is, when I restart, and reopen registry editor, it has taken all of that stuff out! and no, the microphone still doesn't show in the speakers/ headphones properties levels area. This apparently has worked for some people though.

Long and short of it is:
1) Open regedit (Start->Run, type regedit)
2) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\Settings\filter\SpeakerHp\
3) Create a new Binary Value
4) Give it the name EnableInputMonitor
5) Set it's value to 01
6) Restart your machine
7) Open your Playback Devices (right click on volume control icon in system tray, select Playback Devices)
8) Open the Speakers/Headphones
9) Go to the levels tab
10) Unmute the input monitor

There you go, you can now hear your microphone on your speakers.

How to Update your Old ATI Graphic card

This thread is specially dedicated to all Mobility Radeon Laptop users. Unfortunately, most of the Ati laptop manufacturer tailored their own mobility software/Ati catalyst to suite their laptops. Most the these Laptop Manufacturers doesn't bother much on releasing new drivers. That why, your mobility radeon cannot cope up with the new games and 3D programs.

So, what's happen when your driver is not up to date? what most of the mobility radeon users suffer is that they cannot run new games at all. SOme complaints of artifacts, while some complains of inability to draw certain objects or the 3D objects appear to be null in the gaming process.
This often happens in those Mobility radeon 9000 series(9200,9600,9700), and Ati X00 series (x300, x600, x700, x800) and also some of the X1000 series (x1300, x1400, x1600, and x1700)

Since Ati radeon has let the Laptop manufacturer to tailored their own mobility software, their latest ATI catalyst is no more supporting the older version of these graphic cards. However, some really smart guys has comes out with several alternative drivers to replace the original Ati driver for those outdated Graphic cards. Some says they are better, some says there are some bugs left...but generally, a lot of people still benefit from the driver which was released by these people.

One of these drivers is called Omega driver, however, it has a compatibility issues with some of the older graphic cards (9000series, and x000 series), where the aspect ratio was not able to tune to full screen during game play. Causing double Black Bar screen on the lateral side of LCD because it's running on 4:3 aspect ratio on a wide screen laptop. Some can be fixed by enabling the full screen expansion, but i also received that some ATi X600 doesn't support this features.

So, how to solve this problem?

Ok, let me have it, how do I use it?:

This is a step by step guide on how to run and use Mobility Modder on Vista AND XP, if you follow these instructions carefully in a step by step manner you will be fine. If you don't then you more than likely will end up with a driver that doesnt correctly work so you have been warned ! (Don't panic, even if you don't mod the driver correctly you won't hose your OS, the driver just won't install (like it did before you came to this page - so pay attention!))

Installation step by step guide

1: Download MSXML 4.0 from Microsoft. Install.

1: Download the Mobility Modder:

Step 2 is VISTA ONLY

2: Make sure UAC control in Vista is turned off. If you don't know how to do this then read this guide (method 4 is the easiest) or click the "disable UAC" in Mobility Modder.net - please note you MUST reboot after disabling UAC. If you don't want it disabled permanently, you can turn it back on after our mobility tool has finished, but it won't mod the drivers correctly with UAC ON.

3: Download the newest desktop drivers from www.ati.com (or get them from Driver Heaven Downloads). If you are using Windows XP make sure to download .net framework from Microsoft (this is built into Windows Vista so there is no need to install it).

4: Run the downloaded driver, let it extract into c:/ATI/SUPPORT - but cancel the installation once the driver is extracted.

5: Run Mobility Modder - browse to the driver in C:ATI/SUPPORT/ - an example of Catalyst 8.2 would be C:\ATI\SUPPORT\8-2_xp32_dd_ccc_wdm...- hit modify. Wait until driver is modified.

6: In xp, go to C:\ATI\SUPPORT\8-2_xp32_dd_ccc_....(Or whatever the driver installation folder was called), and run the SETUP.EXE. Please note you might see a "Driver is not WHQL certified", ignore this, as it is a side effect of the modification.

7: Wait until Install is finished and reboot. Enjoy the new drivers!

moderator, i would like to make a complain about ATOM in lowyat...
and also there's a serious problem with the BENQ DVDR sold there...
today, i went there for exchanged as they say can change incase the disc faulty...
but in the end, they dun exchange the faulty one,
i bought 50 disc, and tried 10 disc, 9 error and only 1 can use.

* my DVD writer is new Unit just bought 1 month ago, usually burn disc no problem

so, i met another guy in the shop, he suffered the same problem as i, he tried all 50 disc and only a few can use..this is even worse.

however, the shop not willing to give full refund, and says that disc used cannot be claim...
how could it be???
the other guy was angry because he can't get anything at all...
and this shop ATOM threaten me to go away...z..z.z
they say : if u still bising i will chase u away...

i'm very upset but i dunno where to complain, at the same time, i like to warn others as well so that they dun buy the DVDR there...

pls tell me where to compain..

The was a heat discussion about this matter...some guys cannot accept it...some guys can accept it...and some girls just bash the guys like hell...

I got a client recently bought a P4 2.4B, Motherboard , 256 DDR Ram and 30 GB HDD from me.
i deal with him COD in my University.
that day, i did mentioned to him to check properly the items. because The Motherboard+ram is new item..and i had to went to my hometown Penang to pickup for him (cost me RM40) just to pick up and sell to him lol in KL.

well, i've opened up everything and let him see and checked...telling him also these board nvr used one...coz soonly after my board burned when i OC last time, i throw my other Rig away at a side...but after a while i decided to find a simple board and sell it out lol...

In my thread, i mention selling out parts~~highest bidder got 3 person- offer same RM500+ for quickgrab.

now he claimed back to me say cannot sell out to other people...because the Mobo dun have I/O back panel. (Notice that He is actually selling it to other people...and the client not satisfied with it...so, he cannot sell, and blame me back~~)
but the whole machine can run nice and smooth...

so...i just wanna seek for you all opinion...coz i'm a honest seller...i dun wish to keep things ~~i'm with a good reputation in my previous sales~
