I'm looking for songs to be played for more serious function with a more upbeat and positive mood. My attendees are a mix of young and old (40+). Any recommendations?

And preferably not songs with too much a clubbing-style ala Pitbull / Jennifer Lopez where you have to "get down the floor" or "get me to the hotel room"... have to be "clean" lah.

Working in the Middle East

I often keep hearing that the Middle East offers a lot of career opportunities with promises of salaries paid in USD etc. I suppose the working and social culture is much much different, hence would like to ask the fellow forummers of their interesting experiences and advice of working in the middle east.

To be more specific, I am looking for jobs in finance/audit. How are the chances like? How is the work-life balance, social lifestyles etc.?

Which of the middle east-ern countries should I be looking at as well? Off my head I know UAE (Dubai and Abu Dhabi) are where many MNCs are based, Kuwait and Qatar are finance powerhouses (correct me if wrong) while I am not so familar with the rest of the Middle East d. Anywhere else I can look into?

Following the Dubai credit crisis, is it true that many companies are looking to shift out of Dubai now? If so, where are they going then?

As per the above topic... my CPL filter got stuck to my UV filter

Any suggestions guys?

So far I've tried:
1. hot water on the CPL filter only
2. thin rubber band on CPL filter
3. brute force.

Haha, has there been anyone else who has encountered similiar situations? And how did you manage to solve the problem?

White Balancing

I often have this debate with a photog buddy, discussing if in a photo with say, incandescent light, should we or not white balance off the entire picture to turn it white?

I find white balancing for certain shots, e.g. indoors (yellow/orange/warm to a neutral white/cold) is quite destructive to the entire picture's feel. But he disagrees and continues in pursuit of a subject's "real colours".

For pictures like taking pictures of food in a dimly lit restaurant, white balance or not? If the picture's originally warm, do you make a bowl of steaming noodles appear like it just came out from the fridge?

Just wanted to ask some opinions around here. I think it's quite a subjective area and just wanted to gather some opinions!

PS. If you ask me personally, I prefer to WB my pictures to a slightly warmish white.

I know it depends on which brand u use too, so just wanted to know, well, on a monthly average figure?
