Hi fellow forumers..

Anyone wanna let go of their Logitech Z623 THX PC Speakers?

Speaker just spoiled on my birthday and I'm on tight budget and cannot afford a new set. Wanna get something decent with good quality and booming bass but will also last me longer so El' Cheapo speakers is out of the question.

My offer is RM350-380 depending on your speaker condition.

Do drop me a PM and we can discuss about the price further

MBPJ Summons

Good day Peeps

Now I am sure most of you who have been to Digital Mall PJ in between 11.00am~5.00pm find it hard to find any parking spot near that place no? Therefore, a lot of you might have taken the effort to park at the housing area at the back and walk to the mall right?

Today, I have been slapped with a summon for parking beside the park/garden/playground whatsoever. I was like WTF? I was wondering what would have happened to those who visited those who stayed at the houses there.. lol.. do they get summons too?

Says there at the summon:
"TIADA SEORANG PUN BOLEH MELETAK SUATU KENDERAAN MOTOR, MENYEBABKAN, MEMBENARKAN MANA-MANA KENDERAAN MOTOR DILETAKKAN ATAU MENUNGGU DI MANA-MANA TANAH, BANGUNAN, JALAN ATAU MANA-MANA BAHAGIAN JALAN MELAINKAN DI TEMPAT LETAK KERETA YANG DISEDIAKAN OLEH MAJLIS."

RM100 fine.

The funny thing is, those who park at the street where near where I get my summon and there is a lollipop sign board saying "Zon Tunda" dint get any summons.

Shall scan and post my "Summon" later.. what a ridiculous thing to do..

Streamyx

My friend just moved to my area and he wants to apply for Streamyx so we head to a TM Point center last Friday. After taking number, filling up forms bla bla bla and the most annoying thing is we have to wait for almost an hour for them to call our number. And you know what? They say that my area has no more PORTS and our reply was: WTF is this? you mean to tell me that a housing area with 1000 houses doesn't have 1000ports ready? or you mean to tell me all those houses are using MORE THAN ONE Streamyx ports? Does this mean that if my neighbors dont cancel their Streamyx, no new applicants can apply for Streamyx in my area? LOL..

Well after a while, we demand to spoke to the supervisor and that desk personal started to give lots of excuses. Finally, that person offered an alternate solution, UNIFI. Minimal monthly fee for Unifi is RM149 for a limited data package I believe. Thats a total of RM50 more for a student like my friend to pay and furthermore, its not unlimited data service. We are also told that if we insist of applying for Streamyx, we will be put in the waiting list and MIGHT have to wait for a YEAR..

WTF happened to TM nowadays? Last time I apply(few years ago) I only waited for 2 weeks for the installation and activation.
Are they so desperate to squeeze RM50 extra from their subscribers?
Do they really have so damn many applicants till they no longer have any "PORTS"?
Is this really a business strategy to force people to get the more expansive Unifi?
Or are they just plain lazy to do all the paperwork so they just give the lame ol' no port excuse?

Anyone here can give me any satisfying answer or reason? Anyone here can give me an alternate SP besides Streamyx?

My area is in Bandar Sri Damansara SD8.

[WTA]External HDD for Mac and Windows

Hi mac sifus and pros.

You see, I was using a NTFS formatted drive on Snow Leopard but it can only read and not write so I've installed NTFS-3G and NTFS file format is readable and writable in Snow Leopard.
The problem is, My External HDD tends to die(corrupt or what so ever) with no reasons(not any reasons that I know of). A 320GB Samsung Portable S2 and a 500GB Seagate Replica was killed just like that. Maybe it is the cause of the 3rd party software(NTFS-3G) that I use.

I DID NOT remove the HDD WITHOUT ejecting it first on MAC and safely remove it from Windows.

So now I wanna know if there are any format for my external HDD to be used and compatible in both Mac and Windows(if possible, no 3rd party software needed). As far as I know, FAT32 is readable and writable on both Mac and Windows but it cannot hold any files larger than 4GB(Im storing lots of HD movies which are more than 10GB per file).

Pls share your experience if possible.

Very heartache and angry now . Tons and Tons of HD Anime and Movies, Songs and nice Pictures which took years and a huge amount of bandwidth to download are just wiped out like that.

and sorry if there are any posts about the same topic before this. I just lost all my mood to search for it anymore.

More information:

I am using bootcamp windows 7 on my macbook. It reads and writes HFS file system maybe because of the bootcamp utility installed into my windows 7. The question is, can other windows 7 or other series read and write HFS file system? If yes then I have found my answer.

*Edit*

After some thinking and an idea from someone, I figured out that I could use Parallel desktop and install a copy of windows into my Mac OS to enable it to read NTFS file system without having to reboot into bootcamp. This way I don't have to use any 3rd party software for my Mac OS to read NTFS file system too but by using this method, the process doubled, dint it? Because when I plug in my external HDD as a device for my Parallel desktop and then from my parallel desktop I access my shared folder from my Mac OS and copy the files into the External HDD again.

Short to say: Parallel Desktop(access files)>Mac OS(grant permission to write)>Parallel Desktop(read and write files from Mac HDD)>External HDD
rather than Mac OS(By using 3rd Party Software/Read and Write Files)>External HDD

Is this method a good one or a bad one?

Ext HDD Problem

Hi..
My Samsung Portable S2 320GB External HDD has gone nuts all of a sudden. I was copying file from my MacBook HDD to the S2 Ext HDD and all of a sudden the copy freeze and i couldn't stop it so I power down my MacBook and restart it again. When I opened the ext HDD in folder view, the file i was trying to copy was there but it's 0KB so i try and delete it but failed as well. So the 1st thing that came to my mind was to format it and so I did. To my surprise, I can format it to FAT32 but not NTFS. I've tried using a Windows XP and a Windows 7 machine to format it to FAT32 and NTFS and both failed as well. Its not that my HDD does not support NTFS format because it was in NTFS before all this happen.
I've tried formatting my HDD to FAT32 using Mac and then format it again to NTFS using Windows but failed. I've tried disk check too but before it can complete it failed.

Now the HDD is being recognize as corrupted in my MacBook and RAW in Windows 7.

Is the HDD bad or have I done something wrong?

*Edit*
Tried Quick and Full Format but still failed to format it to NTFS
I've noticed one thing strange. Before all this happen there were 298GB of space to use but now only 297GB available.

Hey fellow PS3 owners, recently I have bought COD Modern Warfare2 R1 and Singularity R1 but to my surprise, the booklet is surprisingly thin with minimal info of the game and it is not even colour printed except for the front and back cover although the print quality looks fine to me.

as we all know there are fake BluRay disc all around the market nowadays.

Can any of these be fake coz I bought them rather cheaper than market price at RM160 for COD MW2 and RM170 for Singularity..

Will upload pictures of the games later..

Installing Windows on Mac

Hi fellow mac users.

I have found a way to install widows without using boot camp assistant in Mac OS-X.

I dont know if this topic has been posted before. I did some searching but cant find any.

here goes.

1)Use Disk Utility to make a NTFS partition of desired capacity. NTFS 3g must be installed in order to format a partition to NTFS.

2)Put in your Windows installer CD/DVD into the optical drive.

3)Restart your mac and as a grey screen appears, hold down "option" button to bring out the boot menu.

4)Select Windows(the icon should look like a disc) and start installing =)

*note that Windows will restart your machine once or several times during installation. Make sure you press and hold down the "option" key and boot your Windows partition. If you dont do this your machine will automatically boot Mac OS-X and your installation will fail. Be sure to keep an eye on your machine as it installs windows*

5)After Windows finished installation, insert your Mac OS-X DVD into the optical drive and install boot camp for device drivers.

and there you have it.

I have tested it on a MacBook 2,1 C2D 2.0 with 4gb of rams and 320gb HDD running Mac OS-X 10.6.4. Everything is running stable and no crashes on both Windows and Mac OS-X

The only bad thing i found out is that it boots into Mac OS-X automatically if you don't hold down the "option" key and select Windows.

I hope this guide will help those who have encountered error messages from boot camp assistant in Mac OS-X while wanting to install windows.
Instead of having to use a back up program to back up the entire main HDD to an external HDD and format the main HDD and restoring from the external HDD again just so you can make Boot Camp Assistant work would be a fuzz and a lot of trouble for those who are busy.

**Update**
-You must not let your Mac boot into Mac OS-X at anytime of the Windows installation otherwise the installation will fail. You will get a blank black screen when you boot into Windows partition if your Mac somehow booted into OS-X during the installation.

-Your Windows partition wont be stuck forever as it is after installation. You can always use disk utility to re-merge the partition to your main partition.

-You wont be able to directly boot into Windows during start up because by not using boot camp assistant in Mac OS-X to install Windows, Mac does'nt recognize the Windows partition and does not allow it to be selected as a start up disk.

-By not using the boot camp assistant to install Windows, Windows has the ability to read and write Mac OS-X's partition now. So be very careful not to mess about with Mac OS-X's file systems unless u know what you are doing. And be careful because Windows are vulnerable to Virus attacks which might corrupt or destroy some or all of your Max OS-X's files now that you can write Mac OS-X's partition in Windows.
