This thread will cover mostly from a Windows user perspective as majority of the users are essentially on that platform. For your information, both of us (davidgary73 and myself) are MAC users; just in case you are wondering if we are attempting to discriminate/sideline MAC users . Q: How do I set up my own personalised iTunes Account? "iTunes is not available in my country"?

Q: Can I use my Malaysian credit card to purchase another country's iTunes gift certificates, iTunes gift card, redemption code?
A: No. As each credit card is being issued uniquely to its provider (kindly refer to SECTION D: TOPPING UP YOUR ITUNES ACCOUNT for more information)

Q: How do I authorise/deauthorise my iTunes account on PC/MAC?
A: For this part, I will lead you to the Apple's site for more information. For your information, one iTunes account can authorise up to 5 PC/MAC. Hence it is essential for you to deauthorise a PC/MAC before reformatting it.

Q: Why do I need to authorise/deauthorise my iTunes account?
A: Simple. To protect the copyrights on the content you buy. However with the introduction of DRM-free tracks on the iTunes store, this part is becoming less relevant.

Q: Can I use my iTunes account on multiple iPhone/iPod peripherals?
A: Yes, you can. As a matter of matter, both of my iTunes accounts are currently linked to my iPhone and iPod Touch. By linking them up, it means that you can now use a purchased content across these peripherals.

Q: Assuming that I intend to format/reinstall the operating system on my PC/MAC, do I need to backup the contents of my purchased contents (for example music, videos, movies et cetera) off the iTunes store?
A: Oh, yes. However, you will be pleased to know that, with Apps (from the App Store), you can actually re-download them again at no extra cost. This also implies that you can, technically re-download previously purchased Apps with your other iPhones/iPod Touch(s) (provided they carry your proposed and sychronised iTunes account).

To addon, since Jailbreak topic is allowed again, some forumers ignored the RULES and we have many reports on forumers posting on piracy.

To deter forumers from posting on piracy, mods will close threads for 2 days given as said below:

1) If someone who on their 1st offence post about piracy, warning will be served. If he or another person post about piracy, close thread for 2 days.

2) If someone who did post on piracy before (got reported and warned or even banned ) close thread for 2 days.

Plus, you have the permission to scold/critc them for causing thread close due to them not taking note on RULES where we have stated NO PIRACY DISCUSSION ALLOWED via this thread, the pinned threads + LYN RULES.

When there's no piracy in discussion, thread can live on without closure.

Why are we doing this and is this fair? Well, some forumers just don't learn after they were given warning or even account suspension (7-14 days) and still post on piracy and NOT read the RULES. They went against the RULES again n again and hence this is the only option we can use to deter piracy discussion.

So, anyone who post on piracy, please shoot them and teach them a lesson for causing thread close for 2 days. And yes, they will be given warning as well and maybe account suspension for those 2nd offenders. 3rd time offenders, bye bye..

From now onwards, first offense will be given 7 days account suspension for piracy discussion and NOT taking heed to the RULES. NEXT OFFENSE > 14 DAYS.

PlayStation Section General Rules

Dear forumers,

It has come to my attention that the language used in the Playstation subforum has almost completely changed to BM where as the forum's Rules and Regulations clearly states that the official language across the forum is English and non english is only permitted in the Kopitiam subforum.

We implemented this rule, because we realise that the internet is global and we want anybody, anywhere to be able to read and participate in the forums, freely.

Previously, LYN staffs and mods were lenient on this matter since it wasn't that prevalent, but now too many people have crossed the line and we have decided to enforce english language in this subforum and other subforums that have the same problem. Let this notice serve as the first and last verbal warning for all forumers and we will start taking action on offenders beginning next Monday, 16 May 2011.

All Offenders after that will be warned and repeat offenders will get 7 days suspension

Regional Matchmaking & Party Privacy

This one is pretty cut-and-dry — a frequently asked question is, “Will my kickass emblem I spent hours perfecting be lost when I prestige??” The answer is, “NO!” — Emblems are one of the only aspects of Black Ops MP that do not get a full reset upon entering Prestige. Things that will reset when you Prestige are: XP, COD Points, Challenge progressions, Loadouts, etc.

There will be 15 Prestige Levels in Call of Duty: Black Ops’ multiplayer. This is more levels than we’ve ever had before, increasing by 50% on the last three Call of Duty games, previously at 10. To counter this though, there are fewer levels per Prestige cycle than ever, 50 levels, down from Modern Warfare 2′s 70 levels, so it should take around the same amount of time as previous games to reach the maximum Prestige Level.

What to do:

In short this is what goes on:-

1. Queue outside (near the escalator above GSC Cinema / RedBox Gardens) - there is a person next to a number ticketing machine.
They will check whether you have the confirmation ID & cross ref with your IC. I assume if your name doesn't fit - you might not get in. (I am not confirmed - just assuming!)

2. After checking, you need to fill in a "iPhone 4 Collection Checklist". Someone does it for you. They ask what is your mobile no, name, ic, what plan, 16 or 32GB phone, do you have ic (if not you can use Credit card, driver's license).

3. When you are called in, you go into a small area between the outside and ballroom. I assume only 60 ppl are called in each time.

4. Guess you have to wait to be called into the main ballroom. I can't tell you cos I was the first batch and hardly any waiting. There are 60 counters and they are very friendly and helpful. I think you want to speed up the process - photocopy your ic and make sure you have your confirmation ID and checklist and number in hand or at least ready.

I asked the guy serving me - authorization letter is not accepted unless owner is present because the owner needs to sign contract! This is what the guy who served me said. Please be warned - I am telling what i know.

I assume average half an hr per customer if no hiccups. He/She needs to enter details, go thru the plan once again, swipe CC and check your phone - then out you go! [credit bontaku]

iPad Firmware Download *do not unzip the firmware. Remove the .zip extension. Your firmware should ends with .ipsw extension
