Just a week a ago i subcribed relakks hoping to get better BT download. I'm using 1 MB line and with relakks my BT managed to shoot to maximum speed of 113Kb/s. That was the first day of subcription and i was so happy. Well that was the first and last time i got that speed. I tried to tweak the setting here and there, like reducing maximum peer connection to 10 but nothing helped.

First the VPN connection will get disconnected after 10-15minutes. The dialer will redial back but the winxp went crazy after alot of redial attempt. Need to reboot my PC to make the dialer to work again. Earlier for that 10-15minutes of connection the speed normaly on average of 50Kb/s but now it not going beyond 25Kb/s. Does anybody facing similar problem? Maybe Relakks is capping the bandwidth for BT or TMNET is limiting VPN connection bandwidth. Eitherway i not going to renew my relakks.

I'm in the networking line and i have played with one of the bandwitdh shaper equipment. You will be amazed to see what this type of box capable of. Encryption wont help because this box will categorize those unidentified traffic in default group. When it has enough packets of same nature, it will create sub-class in that default group. For BT it will just take an hour to identity that traffic. You no need a genius to conclude that is a p2p traffic(very huge traffic). VPN can be shaped aswell but TMNET cannot totally disallow VPN as they are doing it for BT because alot corporate users is using it for their secured connection to outside world. The box also can shape bandwidth by users but TMNet won't be able to do it as they are assigning dynamic IP address (not fix ip) to all of us.

My guess is TMNET only installed this box at their international gateways. If they start using it at local gateways then we are doomed.

Now i'm trying alternative p2p and i did found one which is free and very high speed.
Same like BT but different protocol and it has all the popular tv shows and movies but not as rich as BT(educational stuffs). I'm sorry i can't reveal it here because i believe TMNET is actively monitoring this forum. Search for yourself and I think there are still a few out there that haven't caught TMNET attention yet. Thank you.
