Hi girls, need advice regarding hair dyes in the market. What are the best hair dyes you've used? Mind to list down shades and brand (and price hehe) you've used and how well they work?

I bought a tube of Schwarzkopf IGORA Royal hair colour (intense violet) because according to the salesperson, it has the most intensive colour and it'll work fine even if I don't bleach my hair. Anyone tried this before? Is it good? It was an impulse purchase as I've just gotten my salary.

Anything that I should take note of before and after dyeing my hair?

Hi guys, would like some advice for my Hue trip.

I have only a day to spend (or should I say 9 hours?). Can anyone recommend me the BEST places to visit (as in the essence of Hue XD)?

I read from the Discovery guide book that it'll be good to take the Perfume River cruise, but I'd love to visit every single historical spot in Hue (especially the tombs) though that'll be impossible. Just wanna know if they let you go off the cruise to visit the places yourself or do you have to follow the cruises till the end? How long is the cruise? Also, any recommended places for me to book these cruises? Sinh Cafe? I read at Tripadvisor that some members recommend Mr Cu and The Mandarin, anyone tried them?

I'd love to visit the tomb of Khai Dinh, Minh Mang's Tomb and the Forbidden Purple City seperately, how many hours do you reckon to be sufficient for this visit? ^^;;

Also, what's good to get in Hue for souvenirs (aside from cone hats)?

Oh well, I guess most of us aren't aware of the stuff we apply on our skin/body/hair. I was reading about the ingredients at Skin Deep Cosmetic Database and it sent a shocker right thru me as some common ingredients found in the stuff we use daily are cancer causing substance, or chemicals that might harm us.

Surely I'm not aware that FD&C colour pigments (that are used to give cosmetics their colour) are carcinogenic, or paraben preservatives are mostly toxic that may cause allergic reaction? I find it especially scary that if you're a mother, these chemicals not only affect you, but also the baby in your womb.

Mille crêpes

Hi guys, I think I've been bitten by the Mille crêpe bug ever since I tried some last year.

As I'm not mushc of a food expert, would like some suggestions on where to get tasty Mille crêpe (especially around JB, actually SG would do too hehe). Thanks!

So far I'm only getting my supplies from Humble Beginnings (JB, Penang) and Nadeje (Melaka) but IMHO Nadeje's taste better, with a wider variety (though skip their cheese Mille crêpe if you don't fancy your cheese to be too sour).

I just found out that the founder of Humble Beginnings is actually the ex-main chef of Nadeje... =D

Citrusy/mango smelling body wash and shampoo

Hi girls, I need a little help here. I fell in love with citrusy/mango smelling (the smell is a mix of both) body wash when my mom bought me a bottle of FA body wash (with similar scent), and since... I can't find FA products anywhere in this country, would like to get recommendations from you girls. Do you know any body wash and shampoos that smell like that? Recommend me some please.

Cosmetic Surgery for the sake of looking nicer

What do you think of people who underwent cosmetic/plastic surgery in order to have a prettier face?

Are you against it? For it?

Haha, I'm just starting this topic out of curiousity as I was browsing through blog post regarding SNSD's Tiffany's face, and there were opinions flying from all over the place. ^^;;

My stand is that people should appreciate their own features as I believe that everyone is beautiful in their own way, if you don't even know how to appreciate your own beauty, then how do you expect others to do so? But it somebody grow up and decides that he or she would want to look better and opted for surgery, I'm with them too. It's their face, their choice just as long as it gives them some confidence boost and makes them happier.

...though personally, I will never do it, not even getting double eye-lids. Monolids can be incredibly beautiful too.

Just wanna get some clarification, on a Japanese tv program I watched a few years back, the host did mention that there are parents who made "orders" (or bookings) for cosmetic surgeries to be done for their kids when the child is still young. I don't know when will they start the surgery though. O_o|| Do events like these take place in Japan?

Cruelty-free Beauty Products

Hi girls, just wondering if you will buy a beauty product if you knew it wasn't cruelty free (ie tested on animals)?

I was very heartbroken when I came across a picture of rabbits with swollen eyes and yellow discharge after being tested on, that was when I was 8 and I guess it left an impact on me. So for my part, I try to avoid products tested on animals when possible... Though I'm aware that Malaysians don't get much choices as most affordable products are produced by companies that test (eg. L'oreal, Proter & Gamble, Unilever, Clairol, Johnson & Johnson).

Below are an inexhaustive list of which companies test and which doesn't (that are available in the local market), might have some errors though, so if you see any do let me know.

Hair Curler

Hi girls, was thinking of getting a hair curler and maybe a hair straightening iron, any good recommendations of which model/brand to get?

What should I look out for when getting one? I heard that ceramic ones are good? Is that true? Also, I saw some forummers selling some curlers (China brand), very affordable price, are they good? Anyone tried them before? Because I was very tempted to get one myself.

I have terribly coarse and dry hair and nothing seems to really work, except for Schwarzkopf's Seah hair treatment, which is bloody expensive. ^^;;

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but after checking out the other subforums (and the rules) I think I'll just give it a shot. Mods, please let me know if I posted at the wrong place. I have a feeling that alot of people are probably gonna kill me for this but here goes...

I wonder if you've seen this whitening product before? It claims to be able to make your skin fairer in just 28 days. The results on the comparison pics look so good and the price is reasonable, so I bought one myself.

I applied the lotion and whoa, did my skin look a shade fairer and it smelled really good too. But then I got very suspicious when I started reading the label at the back. The product label claims that the lotion is a product of Prof. Dr. Niechans' research.

I went and Googled for Dr Niechans and found nothing but chinese pages linking him to yet another product, La Prairie (which I think was all fake information as there aren't any English source).

After that... I got really frustrated and tore off the chinese label/sticker and... well, you take a look and let me know what you think. I see the word Biotherm somewhere....

Maybe I did get a fake product but then again, if this product really exist at all, there should be some source from Korean website (since it was said to be a hit product amongst Korean girls) but nada.

I've read on some forums that it works and I hope that whoever who had use it won't suffer from any terrible side effects.
