Deciding Factor to Stay or Break Up?

Hi, so I've been in a long term relationship with my partner now. There have been ups and downs but now, I'm not sure if it's one that is worth staying.

When things are going good, it's really good and I am happy. When it doesn't, things can go haywire fast. My partner has anger issues, so I would often get called certain words and names. Talking to them at that point would be pointless as they dont want to listen and even if I make what I feel is a point, they often say that they don't care. It's frustrating because a lot of times, I'm not even sure what's wrong when things go bad. By that, I mean if I did something wrong (which I admit I do at times), I wouldn't know or understand it until much later, which would then be at least somewhat resolved shortly after. I also get questioned about my sincerity in doing things, and when I do things that are supposed to help with the relationship, they tend to refuse. I can acknowledge that they have the right to say no to anything if they don't want it, but it's still frustrating because it feels like they don't want the issue to be solved sometimes.

Now, I find myself feeling restless, stressed out at times, and unnecessarily sad from time to time. For the most part, I'm just not sure I can tolerate the anger anymore. It's not just with me at times as my partner tells me of similar occurrences with other people as well like friends for example. I also feel like it's unfair for me to judge if my partner feels comfortable to tell me these things as they might just want someone to listen. I'm just at a lost as to what to do now.

Good Reason to Choose GTX over RTX?

Hi there, I was genuinely curious. Would there be a good reason to choose a laptop with a GTX GPU over an RTX?

In my head, laptops will get obsolete pretty fast. People might consider upgrading to another one after about 5 years or so depending on if the machine starts to get problematic or unfit for use at the time. Unlike desktops where we can just upgrade the GPU, we will have no choice but to stick with it if it's a laptop. Now, it doesn't seem like we can fully benefit from RTX cards yet so wouldn't it be better to get a GTX-powered laptop first instead and save money, and then years later get an RTX one when we can truly utilize it / RTX has better support?

Take for example the ROG STRIX SCAR II since that one has both the GTX and RTX versions still being sold. If the GTX one is cheaper, wouldn't that be a better choice for now? Would there also be other practical reasons why it's better to pick a GTX over an RTX laptop now or vice versa?

ROG Mothership As External Display?

To no one's surprise, the ROG Mothership is gonna cost a bomb regardless of which region you gonna buy it in. Just wanted to see if got any additional reasons to justify the price but is it possible for the display to act as an external monitor? Though it'd be mighty convenient to game on my Nintendo Switch on-the-go with a bigger screen, lol.

ROG Mothership Design

I'm sure many of you have seen this new ROG Mothership from CES. Supposedly the CPU, GPU, and what not are on the monitor side rather than on the keyboard side. Is this really a practical design choice especially for cooling and if so, why have laptop manufacturers not do this from the start?

Hypercool Technology: Good or Not Really?

A lot of laptops nowadays have some spectacular names for their coolers in their laptop. Acer has the Aeroblade fans, MSI Coolerboost Trinity, and ASUS has Hypercool Technology for the newer laptops. What exactly makes this Hypercool thing and does it actually work good?

144Hz Display: What's the point?

I know those high refresh rate display will be beneficial for gaming with fast-paced action so you wont get blurred visuals and stuff but I'm wondering, what's the point of having 144Hz display if the power isn't really enough to reach that high of an FPS? I'm looking at laptops like the ASUS FX505 and the Acer Predator Helios 300. Sure, maybe like CSGO should be good but for other games, GTX 1060 and i7-8750h or i5-8300h, is it even enough?

I believe these two are the thinnest premium gaming laptops around, with the GS65 around for a bit of time now and the Zephyrus S recently launched, and I personally have doubts on this form factor for the power its packing but assuming you had to choose between either, which will you go for and why?

2666MHz vs 2400MHz RAM in Laptops

A lot of brands I noticed tend to go for either 2666MHz or 2400MHz RAM. Whether it's the ASUS FX505, Acer Predator Helios 300, or something pricier like the MSI GS65 Stealth. Assuming the CPU, GPU and SSD is the same, is there a noticeable difference between the two RAM speeds in terms of performance?

So this thing that they're promoting for laptop display, Pantone Display, is it supposed to present better colours than IPS or something? I'm reading it up and it seems to indicate better colours and stuff but I have zero clue what this Pantone display is. Also on that note, any noticeable delays or refresh rate issues?

To my understanding, the i5-8300H is better than the older gen i7-7700HQ across the board. That alone makes it worth getting, at least for me. Of course, there will always be a better option but how much better is the i7-8750H is compared to this and is it worth paying the extra price?

Thinking of this because that's the common offering for newer laptops around like the ASUS FX505, Predator Helios 300, etc. and perhaps the additional cost might be better put in other upgrades like more RAM or SSD.

Zenbook Pro Screenpad Warranty Query

With the Zenbook Pro Screenpad being a display, will there be any additional warranties for it? I'm thinking in the sense that it's a display and there is a possibility of cracking or display spoiled because accidentally spill drink or something like that. I have a feeling repairs or replacements would be expensive.

I get that you can use the Screenpad as a secondary display or sorts but when it's used as that, would that mean that the trackpad will be disabled? Not that I mind using a mouse but there will be times where it will be more convenient to use the trackpad, and I can't imagine using it as a trackpad while its displaying the spotify app or something.

Been to Digital Mall and a few shops in Klang Valley and couldn't find. Anyone knows a physical shop that I can go to?

So I'm looking at the newer Zenbooks around and for productivity purposes, these two seem like a great choice. However, I'm looking at the specs and what not, both seems to be pretty much the same aside from the Zenbook 13 having a bigger battery.

Not sure if I'm missing anything but anyone here aware of any other differences and which one more worth it?
Zenbook Flip S Also Has Ergolift?

So previously I posted a thread about the Vivobook S530 having this pretty cool Ergolift hinge but it looks like the Zenbook Flip S also has one? But it doesn't appear to work the same way as it doesn't look like it gives it the same lift as the S530. Am I hallucinating or is it the same thing when you open the laptop (not completely fold it)?

I Can Charge My Laptop via USB-C

So I've been using the Acer Spin 5 for a while now and I just realized that I can actually use my Nintendo Switch charger to charge the laptop via USB-C. This makes me really happy because I don't have to buy another charger for bringing the laptop around. Does this mean that all laptops that has USB-C like the Zenbook 13 or Vivobook S530 can charge via USB-C or is there a specific protocol that I need to look out for? I'm mentioning those laptops in particular because I'm genuinely interested in them.

I understand that the charger will need to be Power Delivery-capable but I'm not sure about the laptop capable of charging via USB-C as it doesn't say PD anywhere on my Acer Spin 5 and this one still has a proprietary charging port.

On the official website, it says that the Zenbook Flip S has quick charge, capable of reaching 60% in 49 minutes. But I noticed that it's showing a cable connecting to the laptop via USB-C. Did the laptop forego a proprietary charging port in favour of USB-C? If it's true, there's nothing bad about doing this, right?

Also, I'm wondering if the charger has some special feature / protocol that really helps with the fast charging.
