►► help! car stalls after going up on a slope

I have this experience and it has become more frequent for the last 2 months.

Whenever I drive upwards on a slope (say 20 degree slope) with an immediate downward slope thereafter, I usually alight my foot from the acceleration pedal when the car reaches the peak/plateau so that I don't overshoot with the car going faster heading downwards. The peak could be just a short one, say maybe 5-10 feet before the downward slope.

It is when I release the accelerator pedal, the car stalls where the engine cuts off. The car is still moving but with the kinetic momentum as it prepares to go downhill.

This is somewhat dangerous when there are many cars, and I have to try steer the car to the right (with no power steering since the engine was cut off).

Does anyone know what is the problem or pinpoint the questionable sensor?

There is no engine light indicator turned on, and neither the OBD detect any fault codes.

Hope to hear of your opinion.

Thanks.

crankcase ventilation and fc

hi

For discussion purposes, the other day, I did a trial/error thingy. The stock intake has a vacuum/hose line from air intake and it feeds filtered air (after MAF) to the engine breather (that circulates air of the crankcase ventilation). What I did was to put a cap on the vacuum/hose outlet at the stock intake and put a mini air filter at the engine breather. So, now these two are separated.

Using a OBD2 reader, for this setup - the reading on the engine load is 10% lighter (reading from idle and first gear) but fc is heavier (about maybe 50km less than the stock setup - based on a full tank). However, when I put back to stock setup, the engine load is heavier but fc seems better. Have you tried such silly setup before?

my assumption was that engine lighter = better fc but this proves otherwise. maybe my assumption was wrong in the first place.

hope to hear some thoughts from you.

Thanks.
