Asus GTX460 DirectCu 1GB vs EVGA GTX460 SC EE 1GB

Which card offers better overclocking capability and better cooling system?

The DirectCU version uses a 88mm fan and three 8mm nickel-plated heat-pipes, which is far more than enough cooling potential? (Three large heat-pipe rods span away from the copper base into an aluminum finsink)

On the other hand, with the EVGA GTX 460 SC 1GB, I saw an article which mentioned about the fan has to work quite hard to push air through, due to its proximity to the heatsink’s fin array. Considering that noise is an issue, which one is the winnerl? It appears that EVGA SC edition somehow creates much more fan noise than the reference card?

Well, I have this urge to push the GPU to its limits, do you fellas have any idea which one serves as a better GPU? I know both cards can be easily tweaked to above 850Mhz At this point, I'm not sure who cares the price/performance ratio, since both of them find themselves in quite a similar price range. Perhaps I should go with the one which offers longer warranty period, in this case which is the ASUS?

P.S: Not choosing Radeon 6870 over GTX460, due to the noisy reference cooler.

I'm not sure whether there's similar discussion regarding this issue. But, I would like to know which offers better quality in terms of performance, efficiency, etc.

Only Silverstone Essential series offers single rail +12v right? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Both of their price are the same at the moment

My rig soon-to-be includes iCore 5 760m and a single piece Geforce GTX 460. Not looking forward to SLI/ CrossFire Therefore, 500watt ought to be more than enough

CoolerMaster vs ThermalTake

All 3 chasis above provide 3 cooling fans themselves. Planning to purchase one of them, time to upgrade my rig

I heard that Storm couldn't really fit in 5870 comfortably. Any ideas? Gettin' either the 690 II Advanced or Armor A90 could be claimed as future-proof in my opinion. However, only the Scout and 690 II Advanced feature the ON/OFF LED fan, which is only applicable to the front panel fan frank.

However, at this stage, 5870 is kind of overbudget. Scout chasis would be more than enough to fit in my XFX/Sapphire 5770 (Undecided still)

Would like to listen to some opinions here

All 3 chasis come with 3 cooling fans. Price kind of similar as well. However, the CM chasis do provide ON/OFF led switch for the fan @ front panel. All 3 of them capable of liquid cooling.

Storm Scout wouldn't be able to fit in 5870 I suppose? Any idea?

Getting 690 II Advanced and Armor90 might be claimed future-proof in my opinion.

Please remember that I have no intention of OC. But I wanna keep my options open, rather find one MOBO that comes with 2 PCIE? Crossfire in the near future?

Seems like most of the boards have a lot of the same features these days. So to me it's figured out exactly what features you want and then it's mostly what YOU prefer after that for brand(Asus/Gigabyte/MSI).

For the I5-750, I would go for P55 chipset though for sure. So about H55 chipset let's just give them a break.

[WTA] Where To Purchase Ferrite Cores?

Wonder anyone could help me with this .. where can I get these ferrites from? Ferrite's kind of stuff which can reduce the background noise due to the presence of electromagnetic induction interference,which results in the slighty 'zzz' noise .. Overall,"resistor" to high frequency EMI/RFI electronic noise

Any stores in Penang/SP area sellin??
