Self Install Home Alarm, possible?

Hi everyone, my house has all the home alarm wiring ready, which is provided by the developer. I'm wondering is it possible to buy the alarm package and install by our self. Actually, many alarm package is quite cheap and most of the cost is charged to the labour fees by the contractor. I'm thinking to buy the alarm package and install by my own as part of my hobbies.

Also, I hardly find any guide on the internet that show step by step wired home alarm installation. Most of them are DIY wireless home alarm. Anyone of you have the experience of self installation of wired home alarm?

Hi guys, I want to install alarm system to my new house and all wiring has been provided by the developer. So far, I have got the quote from 3 different shops and surprisingly, the prices can be different so much.

1st Quote with AX1 main board. --> RM1300
2nd Quote with BluGuard main board. --> RM1650
3rd Quote with AX1 main board. --> RM1950

The number of sensors are more like the same and all of them giving 2 LCD keypad.
They all provide 1 years warranty + FOC service.

Why they are different by so much even with the same brand?
What are the criteria I should consider in order to make the choice?

Need some advice.

ARNALDO Sofa

Hi everyone, may i know is anyone bought ARNALDO leather sofa?
I went to a furniture shop in Ipoh few weeks back and they are selling this 1+2+3 leather sofa with only RM2649.
They claim it is using genuine leather (cow leather??) from Italy, with latex+pocketed spring. But with that price, I think the genuine leather only partial covers only.
However, I did try the sofa and actually it quite comfortable.
But, it seems there is not much information from the internet regarding this brand and thus, I have concern whether this sofa is reliable or not.

I've attached the model that i would like to buy and please advise.

Hi everyone, I'm currently paying RM140 for the Streamyx and it is 4mbps if not mistaken.
Recently I'm not using it much and thus, I'm thinking to downgrade it to 512kbps..cheaper mah...

But it seems the 512Kbps is not available anymore, is it true?
Or what is the other package which is cheaper? My budget now is ~RM70+.

Thanks.

Saga FLX SE 1.6 vs Almera E spec AT

Hi guys, I'm planning to get a new car for myself and Saga FLX SE 1.6 and Almera E spec is in my list as my budget can afford. I would use the car for 90% in city driving and 10% for highway traveling. I like the sporty outlook of the Saga SE and more powerful engine, also the handling seems quite good as per owner's feedback but FC might bit high.
While for Almera, the outlook looks bit weird and only got one air bag but the FC is better and it is imported brand!
The monthly installment for Saga SE 1.6 for 7 years is around RM 610 while for Almera E AT spec is around RM680 for 9 years. There are promotion on going until end of this month, RM1,700 rebate for Saga SE and RM3,000 rebate + free gift for Almera.
Since both of the installment is not much different, therefore I'm now struggling to choose which car.
I'm going to test drive Almera this Saturday but before that I wish to gather some of the opinions from you guys on these few aspects between these two cars.

1. FC, how much per KM?
2. Any issue on the assembly quality?
3. Maintenance cost?
4. Handling?
Saga FLX SE 1.6 vs MyVi 1.3 Premium (Auto)

Hi guys, I'm planning to get a new car for myself and according to my budget and preferences, the Saga FLX SE 1.6 and MyVi 1.3 premium were my choices. And i would like to get some opinions from you guys who owning or drove these cars before in few things below. Personally, i prefer the Saga FLX SE bit more, because it is more stable than MyVi also it is 1.6. But i just wondering the what is the FC for it since it is 100Kg heavier and higher CC comparing with MyVi.
I'm driving a long distance for work everyday, around 60KM go and return and of cause the FC will be crucial for me.

I heard that the sound proof for the Saga is poor when it is on highway. Any other thing else? Is that anything we can do for fixing the sound proof thing?

MyVi seems is moderate on everything except for the stability. Any comments?

Thanks in advance.

Contacts show '/1' after transfer to Nokia 5800..

Hi guys, i just bought the Nokia 5800 XM last week and previously i using SE K810i. That guy that serve me help me transfer all my contacts from my SE to the Nokia 5800. He first transfer all the contacts to my SE memory card and after that use PC and transfer to my Nokia 5800. But the problem is after he transferred, now all the contacts have '/1' follow at the end of the contact name, etc Ahmad/1, Amin/1, Ah Beng/1 and for those Chinese word name is follow by a number 1 with the circle.

I think this is because of the incompatible problem of both phone. May i know is there any things i can do the remove the '/1' for all the contacts? It's just look bit weird and i don't like it.

Please advise...thanks.

Hi all, i wish to change my old CD-rom to DVD-RW rom. But i'm using the IDE connection previously which is connecting the hard disk and CD-ROM. (one IDE cable connecting these two). And now i wish to change the IDE CD-rom to SATA DVD-RW rom, therefore may i know can i use the SATA for DVD rom while i'm using the IDE for my hard disk at the same time?...i dun wish to change my hard disk as it still functioning.

If i going to change the DVD-rom which is using the SATA, then how should i connect the IDE? Because right now, my primary IDE connection is connected to CD-rom and secondary IDE is connected to my hard disk. Do i need to change the primary connection to hard disk or i can just leave the primary connection like that and remain the secondary connection to the IDE hard disk?

Please advise.....

Hi guys, i just wondering will it damage the LCD monitor if we didn't turn off the power button before we close the main power supply of the LCD monitor?

How often you guys do this?

Because i feel that my LCD monitor power button seem not that last long as it's quite hard and sounds like 'tik tak' everytime i click it. That why i'm thinking i just turn off the main power supply after my PC has shutdown, so that i wouldn't need to switch off the power button of the LCD monitor.

But i afraid this will shorten the lifetime of my LCD monitor.
